*20 Minutes later*
*Anos's POV*
'Oh god help me.' I thought as I sat on a chair sipping some coffee. This certainly wasn't how I wanted my first day to go.
I reached into my robes and brushed my hands against the rough wooden exterior of my wand.
After I was ushered out of the class Professor McGonagall had clearly asked me if I knew a killing curse. My reply was a scoff and a second later she had understood. It wasn't as if killing curses were taught in fucking 10 dollar wizarding sets.
Hell in my opinion it wasn't a killing curse at all. I certainly hadn't felt anything seep out of me and that was the main point of Killing curses. You Always, Always know the cost after using the curse.
I had been asked a lot of questions and I had answered all of them honestly. The more I thought about it the more my grip tightened around the coffee cup.
I certainly hadn't wished to kill that little mouse. I was certain of that so how? I had certainly known Death. Hell, I had felt that numbing and soul-shattering sensation myself but to do it to another creature just felt weird.
I knew I would have to fight in the future of course. Your mouth was worth as much as your fists or wands in this world. Or in some cases in the fists and wands that you could hire. But it certainly put a damp on the first day excitement for me.
The other students would obviously be given an excuse or cover up of some kind but I was sure that the only outcome out of that would be Dad getting a headache and the other students staying away from me. Not that I cared about the latter.
It was a tough pill to swallow but I would rather accept that pill than ignore it and remain in a hopeful bubble.
'There goes the secret identity act.' I thought as I waited for the Potions class to finally start.
My hands felt a little cold against the hot coffee cup.
Finally, after waiting, students got out of the classroom and before anyone could notice me I was already moving towards the Potions classroom. Everyone was a first year so it'll at least give me a few minutes of silence till everyone reached the classroom.
I reached the classroom and laid out my stuff on the last table in the furthest corner. I already knew every single thing that would be taught for the year and at least the walls wouldn't glare or look at me weirdly. Though I would certainly have to pay attention in class, dad doesn't like disturbances and I already felt weird enough today.
As I was wondering how the walls looked so clean despite the classroom being in the dungeon two people entered the classroom.
'Should be a good 10 minutes more till they figure out the location of the classroom?' I gazed at the door it was Alucard and Lan Zhan.
They came and sat beside me and I let out a sigh.
'What about alone time, huh. Well, fuck that I guess.'
"How did you find me this fast?" I asked Alucard who was taking out a quill that looked more like a beast scale with a crimson tip and Lan Zhan who was holding a ceremonial brush of sorts in his hand.
"The scent of your blood is quite potent and I have experience with castles," Alucard replied as he took out a tome to write in.
"Your energy core gives off too much residual energy. Certainly enough to get you killed in my sect's lands." Lan Zhan said as he took out a black ink bottle.
"So, finally noticing our stupidity are we," Alucard said with an amused voice.
" Elaborate." I didn't wanna rush into an argument because of an incorrect perception of words.
"You know you've been quite lot open about your Progenitor bloodline than recommended for your survival. It's impeccable to a Progenitor to hold their secrets in the highest regards. I suppose you haven't experienced any form of sabotage before this." Alucard said and I nodded.
I didn't have anyone trustworthy enough to feel hurt by in my previous life so he was on point.
" I've seen others like you, you know. All high and mighty but they fall with a snap and the next day no one remembers. As 'connected' and 'aware of their surroundings and circumstances' a creature is the more precautions he needs to take. It's easier to hide your face in a thousand others but people like us are the weird ones in the crowd. The ones with a sword strapped to their back and a gun in their hands during a church ceremony. We don't get that luxury." Alucard said and I could see the point. I was aware of the fact that I wouldn't be normal but the reality felt a bit harder.
" It's every sentient creature's primal desire to stand out. Even birds only mate with the male with the puffiest feathers." Alucard continued and I found myself in agreement. I had been too lax on myself.
" It'll do you good to hide in the shadows you know," Alucard said with a tinge of sorrow in his voice and I mulled over his words.
Anything he said wasn't wrong. I knew that much but at the same time despite knowing that just thinking about hiding things was giving me a headache. I wasn't a secret agent or anything.
" In our Sect, we are taught to trust our brothers and sisters with our lives. But we're also taught to not trust blindly. The pain of betrayal is the fact that you trusted someone in the first place." Lan Zhan said and I just sat there quietly.
The Rat incident really hit the point home. I was being blind to my surroundings.
" I.. I'll try my best. I can't change who I am that's my nature but I think I can work on my behavior at least." I said after a moment and they both nodded.
" I wasn't gonna tell you this but the Red-Haired kid, he had his memory erased recently," Alucard added.
" Wait what!" I didn't expect that. No, wait what was the situation.
" How much do you know?" I asked and Alucard shook his head.
" As much as I told you. I've tried to study your kind and I assumed that you would hold the gift of Persuasion like us. I was just waiting if you actually had that. If you didn't then I would've revealed the information to you at a later date." Alucard said nonchalantly as I could hear the distant chatter of 11 year olds.
" How much later?"
" Depends. Maybe months, maybe years." He said with a shrug.
' Let's hope Dad doesn't know yet.

Author's Note: I wasn't in the best mood while writing some of the chapters so they might seem a bit choppy especially that Ron part in the previous chapters, I don't know what I was thinking but I've a plotline planned out for it and it should patch up any doubts so let it play out.
Well I feel like a sack of shit from that fever. Sorry guys I had the chapter written a while ago but Google Notes isn't the most trustworthy so instead of copying it ended up deleting the whole text. I'm trying my best to save up for that laptop since this is getting ridiculous now.
The other chapter will be out a bit late since I'm still editing that and my eyes are drooping. I don't want any mistakes since it takes away from the story and people really don't like when that happens (Believe me dear commenters I understand, I read a lot I can understand the frustration sometimes but please trust me at least.)
Hope everyone has a nice Day/Night.
Chapter 54 is already out on Patr eon.
