Chapter 27 - Family Outing Cont'd

I'm standing there stunned. Did my dad really just open a portal in my bedroom, with the chair he always tells me not to sit on? "Dad...what the hell is this?" Dahlia asked horrified. "It's a two way gate portal. Meaning you can only arrive or leave both destinations, but you can't go anywhere else" my dad replied. "It's essentially teleportation" my mom said. "Okay, I've never been, will I be okay?" Dahila said with fear. "At most you will suffer motion sickness" my dad stated. "What about Jackson and Timmothy" Dahika asked concerned. "Luna, we have already been, when we went with your dad " Jackson said. I raise an eyebrow at them. "Why didn't you use this to go to the mainland?" Dahila asked. "The other portal destination isn't on the mainland and the portal location is actually a secret" My dad replied. Your mother and I will go first" my father said. "Wait... wait...wait what do I do?!" Dahlia asked frantically. "You simply walk in, you may feel like you're on a Rollercoaster. Try to be calm, it makes for a better experience" my dad said reassuring me. Standing there in panic my parents walk into the portal. I watch them as they disappear upon the shiny water mirror. "I can't do this!" Dahila said. "Luna, we will go together, we will protect you" Jackson said. "Okay, just guide me in" Dahlia said. Jackson interlocks his arm in Dahlia's, Timmothy follows suit and interlocks his arm in her other arm. It's like we are in the Wizard of OZ , about to embark on the yellow brick road. This is so nuts, this has to be the craziest thing that's happened to me in the last few weeks. I trust Jackson and Timmothy to guide me through the portal. I am amazed by what I see. It looks like a giant space tunnel, almost like taking a stroll through the milk way. I don't feel like I'm on a Rollercoaster and i start to become less scared. Being inside the tunnel it felt like we were inside it for a great amount of time, everything seemed to stand still. We reach the end of it and I step into my dad's antique shop in Dravenwood! My parents are waiting for me. "Really dad? your antique shop!" Dahila said. "Yes, we are in Dravenwood" my dad replied. "Honey, let's go home so Dahila can grab some things, I also want to grab somethings, and then we can go shopping" my mother said. My dad nods his head and he starts to make his way to the door. "Hold up!" Dahila yells. "Is this why you always yelled at me not to sit in the chair?!" said Dahlia. "Yes! The chair is fragile and if it breaks the portal closes forever" My dad said. "You're just full of mysteries aren't you?!" Dahlia said. My dad only smiles. We make our way out of the shop where my dad has Jackson and Timmothy waiting outside with a rental. "You think of everything don't you? Dahila asked her father. Like Secret service agents; Jackson and Timmothy are in the front seat of the SUV while, mom, dad and me are riding in the back. We drive the few miles to that long missed gravel driveway. I look at the two story farm house. I missed this place so much. I miss the simple quiet life I had. I didn't even realize I started to cry. I asked my parents "Will we ever be able to come home?". My parents looked at me with sympathy. "Your life will be with the pack, you can always come visit your childhood home" my dad said. I hug my dad "I really missed this place, this is the best gift ever" Dahlia said. We make it up the driveway and before the vehicle is in park, I run into the house up into my bed room. I look at everything and burst into tears. Who knew my life would become so complicated. I grab a bag and I start cramming my favorites into it. My headphones, a few flannels, sweats and a couple hoodies. I also grab my basic makeup bag and my flat iron. Hey, I may want to try and look nice for my birthday. Even though, I miss my old life, I know my new fated path is where I'm needed. I didn't even realize that I packed so fast, my mom isn't even close. "Hey, Jackson, you mind taking this" I say handing him my bad. "As you wish, luna" Jackson said with a bow. "I'm gonna go into the forest, just call for me when she's ready" Dahila told her guards. I make my way towards the forest, I really missed this place. I go to my favorite clearing spot; it has an arch way opening into a beautiful small field with wildflowers. I love this place because it has a nice flat boulder that I can stretch out and sun bathe on. When I enter the clearing I can see my shadow wolves. "Beware, the witch" The spirit wolves said. "What witch?" Dahila asked. The wolves didn't reply and disappeared when I could hear my name being called back to the farmhouse. "More cryptic messages" Dahlia said with a sigh. I walk back to.the farmhouse and see my mother is ready. I wave to them and pick up the pace to go shopping. I'm not girly but I do need new winter clothes to survive the hellish Island. "Ready to go?" my mom asked. "Yes, I just went to my spot to clear my head, my spirit wolves appeared in tye clearing and told me to beware the witch?" Dahlia stated. "Beware the witch?" my father said confused. "Do I know a witch dad?" Dahila asked. "I mean it's possible, but as far as I know, no witches have been in Dravenwood lately?" my dad said. "Forget it, let's just have our outing, at least we know to be careful of a witch" Dahila said. My father just nods and my entourage start the engine to once again leave the gravel driveway behind. I wave at the house. I know it may sound silly, but at least my home got a proper goodbye. "Until we meet again" Dahlia whispers.
