Sakura's P.O.V
I wake up feeling groggy. I stretch out my arms and hit something beside me. I look to my right and see Nathan at my side. Right...last night. I look down at my body and only see myself in my underwear and wrapped around a blanket.
I can't believe what happened. I never would have gone to this stupid party had I known. I grip the sheets in anger. I flip the sheets off me and go to the bathroom. I put on my clothes that are only partly dry. The shorts are a pain to get on but I manage. I open the door to find Nathan in the bed staring at me.
His toned body is well-defined in the morning sun. His hair is ruffled and his underwear rides low. He gives me a sly grin. "Did you enjoy last night?"
Seth's P.O.V
I walk out of Ranor's office with bags under my eyes. I got no sleep throughout the entire night. I drag my hand over my face. I start to walk to my room when I see Soren walking around. "Hey," I wave at her. When she notices me she walks toward me.
She strides with her crop hoodie and tights. Her hair was barely held together as a scrunchie was tying it down in the middle. Some strands were left wild while the rest lay off her shoulders to connect at the scrunchie to then part ways again at the bottom.
"Have you seen Sakura? She turned her mind-link off and I can't reach her," her question had my ears perking and my posture straighter in curiosity and concern.
"I saw her last after school yesterday. Right before she went to the party," Soren nods her head and walks away. "What are you doing?"
"Following her scent,"
"There are too many people in this pack. You won't be able to tell between a fresh and an old scent," She ignores my comment and continues. I groan at her stubbornness and follow her. I am also worried about Sakura. It is not often that she and Soren will be apart when they aren't with us. Soren will usually leave because she does not fancy crowds but more often than not, they are together.
We walk in silence as Soren continues to follow what I can only assume to be Sakura's scent trail. "You look like hell," I am surprised by her comment as she usually limits any conversation. After our 'hang-out' we haven't talked.
"It's been busy. We have no idea how so many rouges got into pack grounds. I am sorry we put you both in danger," I keep my voice low enough for only the two of us to hear. I don't need anybody panicking on top of the rouge problem.
"I can only imagine. Don't feel too bad. You couldn't have known. How has Laurence been? I haven't seen him in a while,"
"You would actually approach him?" I ask with skepticism in my voice. She chuckles, "I don't mind Laurence. He was very annoying at first because he kept trying to play therapist but he learned to shut his mouth after he 'abandoned' me in the woods," she quotes abandon.
I laugh at the action, "He really beat himself up over that," I recall the memories. Not only was his mate in danger but he failed in his duty to protect Soren. I wipe the smile off my face. I can't imagine Sakura being in any danger because of me, again.
After yesterday, I could see she can handle herself fine but I am still worried for her safety. It didn't surprise me when she was stronger than what she had displayed in the evaluation. It wouldn't be wise to show all of your cards.
"Yeah, that was tough for him," We walk in silence for a few more minutes until Soren tells me to mind-link Kate and Cat. "They went with her to the party and I haven't seen them either," she comments.
I do as she says, 'Kate, are you there?' I don't get a response so I try again. 'Kate, are you there?' It takes a while but she finally responds. 'Yeah, I am here.'
'Where are you?'
'At home,'
'Is Sakura with you?' I get anxious when she doesn't respond right away.
'I am sorry Seth,' I instantly tense up. 'What does that mean?' I ask with a bite. 'Sakura wasn't feeling well and we tried to go after her, but we got dunked in the pool by Sam, Ross, and their gang of 'bros'. By the time we were able to escape their grasp, we couldn't find Sakura. Nathan took her.'
My wolf growls at Kate. 'You were supposed to keep her safe! You left her there?' he growls. I hear Kate's wolf whimper in submission. Kate doesn't get to respond before I realize there is a hand in my face. Soren snaps her finger at me. "Talk to me, where is she?"
My wolf snarls at the disrespect. Soren is unphased as she waits for an answer. "Apparently, Kate and Cat got separated from her, and by the time they went looking she was gone. Nathan took her." Soren hums turns and continues to walk.
I grow irritated with her nonchalant attitude. "Are you not worried about your sister's well-being?" I growl. "Has anyone ever mentioned your anger issues or are you only like this when it comes to Sakura? You are very bipolar. Sakura can handle herself. If she needed help she would have called,"
I ignore her comment on my attitude, "But you must realize something is off if you are looking for her,"
"It is strange but not concerning. As I said, Sakura can handle herself. Besides, I promised her I wouldn't helicopter. By the way, who is this Nathan guy?"
"He is one of the hunters in the pack. He has brown hair and eyes. He usually flirts with every girl he sees," I say with a growl. "I think I know who you are talking about. I don't like the guy or know him well, but I do know Sakura. She would never allow him to touch her unless she wanted him to,"
I growl at the thought, "That sleaze," she laughs and says, "Yes, that sleaze. It's best not to react without knowing the entire situation. I will keep following Sakura's scent while you go to Nathan's house. We will cover more ground and going to Nathan's house is a precaution if her trail breaks."
Soren's plan was solid and I had no complaints about going to that fucker's house. "You don't have to tell me twice," I growl and continue walking with Soren as Nathan's house is in the same direction.
"Then why are you still following?"
"His house is in this direction. A little further down the road. We will split up eventually," Soren doesn't say anything but looks at me with her usual nonchalant expression. My wolf quickly becomes agitated. "Why do you keep looking at me?" I close my eyes and scowl.
"I'm wondering if I should leave you alone or not. Sooner or later you're going to start reacting purely off instinct, which isn't good for any wolf. I don't need you causing a ruckus. Just remember if you lash out this will become bigger than it is and Sakura's reputation will be tarnished,"
I understand where she is coming from but knowing she is with Nathan irks my soul. Her spending the night with a man in itself is already driving me crazy, but with Nathan of all people? Not to mention Kate said Sakura wasn't feeling well when that bastard took her.
The thought brings my wolf to the surface. 'Get our mate back now!' he growls at me. 'What the hell do you think I'm trying to do?' I internally scowl at him. "That's it. You're staying with me. Your wolf looks like it's going to pounce at any minute and you have no control. Get it together,"
Not thinking at the moment, my wolf grabs Soren by her hood and slams her against a tree. "Don't tell me what to do, pup." I try to pull my wolf back, but he's relentless. Dammit, I lost control. Nonetheless, Soren's expression remains the same.
Her face contorts into a wicked smirk. "Pup? Anyway, you're proving my point right now. You have no control over your wolf when you're angry. I get it, they can be a hassle. Even so, I'm not going to let you approach my sister with this kind of attitude. It's not what she needs right now,"
"You don't know what she needs! You don't even know where she is!"
"I was certainly getting a lot closer when we were walking. How much time do you think has gone by since you pinned me to this tree?" My wolf growls in irritation and throws Soren to the ground. She lets out a powerful growl. "The shit I put up with. As a matter of fact, you shouldn't be here, period. Leave Sakura to me you're in no shape to do anything but annoy me."
She turns around with a scowl and continues down the trail. "Like hell I'm going anywhere!" Without having any control over my actions, my wolf shifts and pounces on Soren. "Are you in-fucking-sane?!" Soren shouts. I desperately try to take control of my wolf. He's never acted like this.
He's never been this aggressive. What the hell am I supposed to do?!
