Chapter 31 - Last Night's Events

Seth's P.O.V

"Get the hell off me!" Soren growls. She snakes her legs under my stomach and kicks me off her. My wolf lands on his feet with a snarl. "You're acting like a rouge," Soren says in a calm tone but even the tone in her voice can't strip the conviction from her words.

The comment makes my wolf feral. He pounces in fury. Soren sidesteps us and kicks us in our ribcage. Surprisingly, the kick sends us flying. We crash into a tree, nearly knocking it down.

My wolf quickly gets up. After a grunt, he's rearing for action. "Seth, get your wolf under control. We will bring attention to ourselves at this rate." My wolf was prideful and wouldn't submit until Soren did. I've known Soren and Sakura long enough to know none of them would ever bow their heads to my pack. Not if they believed they were right.

I knew my wolf was fighting a losing battle in terms of submission.

Soren's P.O.V

My wolf was going crazy. She's been pent up inside my body for days on end without shifting into her true form. Having a lower-ranking wolf call us pup and try to challenge us was sending her to the edge.

My calm face was a facade. I have no idea how I'm going to make Seth's wolf stop without harming him, and there was no way in hell I was going to bow my head to him.

"Seth, this is about Sakura right now. Every moment we spend fighting is a minute more she spends with Nathan," I try to get Seth in control again.

His wolf lets out a feral snarl that puts my wolf on edge. I can practically feel her trying to jump out of my skin and put Seth's wolf in his place.

'Let me at him!' she growls menacingly in my head. 'You and me both know we can't do that.'

'We've been too lenient. We let Samantha do whatever she wants, we let Seth intercept us every step of the way, and we let Ranor treat us like porcelain dolls! I am sick of not being able to run freely, and I'm tired of having to hold back all the time. If Seth's wolf wants a fight, then we are going to give it to him,'

This situation is troubling. Do I let Saiya loose and omit her authority, or do I hold back and let Seth's wolf play with me like a ragdoll? Suddenly, the situation wasn't so troubling. I would have to be careful while fighting. He couldn't know I'm of a higher rank when I technically didn't have one.

I let my wolf take control of my body and sit back. I would be lurking to be sure things didn't get too out of hand or our identity wasn't exposed. Saiya is right. If Seth's wolf wants a fight, he's gonna get one.

Sakura's P.O.V

"Last night was not fun. It was quite mortifying, actually." I send Nathan a glare. "I never want to see your face again," my face scrunches in disgust.

"Why? Is the thought of my hands on you too much to bear? The thought of you moaning my name while I-"

I quickly cut Nathan's sentence off. "Oh my god, stop!" I pull my hands over my eyes and squeeze them shut, hoping to forget all about last night.

Nathan sighs before saying, "Look, I don't know what got into you or what happened, but last night wasn't your fault. We both know that "

I take my hand off my face and let them hang in the air. "Are you trying to comfort me?" I scoff in disbelief.

His eyes crinkle, and he turns his head away from mine. "Yeah, whatever," my frown turns into a smile at his actions until I remember what happened. It's like a movie that keeps replaying over and over. I was laced with guilt.

"While I appreciate the sentiment, it doesn't change the fact that I cheated on Seth,"

Nathan turns his head to me and rolls his eyes. "Are you guys even official?" he gives me an incredulous look.

I am quick to open my mouth, but an answer doesn't come out. Seth and I hung out twice and went on two dates, but we never confirmed anything.

Sure, we would kiss from time to time, but did that really mean we were in a relationship? If anything, we are still in the talking stage. It should be a given that we're dating considering we're mates, but I've never called Seth my boyfriend. I am sure he never referred to me as his girlfriend.

"I-" unsure if I should be disclosing this information to Nathan out of all people made me hesitate. I was sure he could see the uncertainty in my eyes, whether I told the truth or not.

"I don't know," I look down at the ground in sadness. "But he's still my mate no matter where we stand right now."

Nathan grunts in what I can assume is understanding. "Can you not bring up last night's event to anyone? Please," I look at him, my eyes filled with desperation.

"As if. Everybody would blame me. I would get the shitty end of the stick. While they would look at you in pity, I would be the devil. There's no need to shoot my foot to embarrass you."

Nathan stands up from the bed and puts his clothes on. "Take care of yourself," is the last thing Nathan says before disappearing behind the door.

I walk back to the bed and flop on it. I close my eyes, and last night's events replay in my mind. Nathan's lips on mine, his hand in between my legs, moaning his name, the heat in my body. Every tiny detail came back to me down to my very last orgasm. Everywhere Nathan's hands roamed. Everywhere my hands roamed.

Bile rises in my throat, and I rush to the bathroom. I hurl in the toilet, and all of last night's continents formed in a watery concoction.

The sight brings more vomit up my throat. I sit by the toilet and wonder where everything went wrong.

Soren's P.O.V

I hurl Seth into another tree. At this point, every tree was decapitated, there was only a clearing. How long was he going to keep this up? It was a bad idea to engage in a battle with him. I'm struggling to rein in my own wolf. She can't shift into her actual form, and she wasn't concentrated enough to shift into our false version.

I make a run, following Sakura's trail. 'What the hell are you doing?!' Saiya roars in fury. 'Don't tell me you don't think we can defeat this nimwhitt?'

'Of course, we can defeat him, but our sister needs us right now. We don't have time for Seth or his ill-mannered wolf'

'I thought you said she can handle herself,'

'She can, I have no doubts about that, but something is wrong mentally. I know you can feel it.'

My wolf is silent, but I know her answer. She had to set her pride aside for our sister. Suddenly, a husky voice comes through the mind link.

'Is Sakura okay?' Shrio's voice echoes in my head. Shit, of course, they would feel something is wrong as well.

'Do you want me to tell you the truth, or do you want me to lie?' I cautiously ask. 'What the hell kind of question is that? Tell me the truth,' I cringe at Shiro's harsh tone.

Seth pounces at me before I can respond. My yelp transfers through the mind-link. 'What the hell is happening?' Shiraga's enraged voice fills my head.

'I'm kind of busy right now,' I grunt as I zig-zag through Seth's attack. Something felt off with his wolf. 'Is it rogues again?' Shiraga growls. I can tell he was regretting ever letting us come back here. 'No, to answer your previous question, I frankly don't know where the hell Sakura is or what's happening,'

'What the hell are you doing? You were supposed to watch over her!' Shrio's voice rings in my head. I clench my teeth at their constant accusations.

'Can the two of you knock it off? Sakura is a grown-ass woman. Yes, she's going to feel certain things at certain times. We can't control everything, so would you stop harassing us every time you feel a moment of unsettlement?'

Seth's claws dig into my arm. I let out a snarl. Not one of pain but one of agitation.

'He would have never gotten a finger on us if we weren't running with our tails between our legs,'

Great, another person screaming in my head. Just what I needed. 'We are not running with our tails between our legs. There's clearly something wrong with his wolf. I don't know what's happening, but Sakura will always be our main priority. She comes over our pride, dignity, and any other temptations we may have.'

Finally, Saiya grunts in agreement. Shiraga and Shiro have finally gotten off my back, something I can't say for Seth.

"Please shift!" I plead to Seth. He's the only one who can control that beast. As if on command, his human form comes barreling into my body.

We tumble on the ground. Seth straddles my torso as his hands wrap around my neck.

"Snap out of it!" I could see Seth trapped in his own body, pleading to be released. "I'm sorry," his mouth words.

I wasn't going to let the man kill me, but I wasn't going to kill him either. Something suddenly clicks in my head. This reminds me of that time.

I wrap my hands around Seth's neck and pull his head down so his lips reach mine.

I hold his face to mine in a fierce grip. His hands unleash my throat. He places his hand on each side of my head. I close my eyes and keep him there. He makes no effort to move.

He doesn't kiss me back, but I keep my lips on him for a few more seconds.

I reopen my eyes and see Seth. Not his wolf, and I let out a sigh of relief that what I had done worked.

I let my hands sprawl out beside me. "What just-why did you," I can see the confusion in Seth's eyes. "Sorry about that. You were going out of control. I thought if I did something unexpected, it would make your wolf stop long enough for you to take control."

Seth doesn't respond as he stares at me in shock. "Are you going to get off me or..." I lift my eyebrow.

Seth shakes his head and quickly gets up. "Right, sorry," he looks at my arm and his face contorts with guilt. "I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened. My wolf has never acted like that. Ever,"

His voice was distraught and he looked at his hand in horror. I could tell he didn't trust himself or his wolf at that moment. I look at him with a monotone face. "It's fine. If you want, we can talk about it later. Right now, we need to get to Sakura. And you need to get some clothes,"

Seth looks down at his private area, then back at me. A blush forms across his face, and he rushes into the woods for a spare change of clothes. I chuckle at his reaction. I'm sure many people have seen him naked. It was common for us werewolves. My smile turns into a frown as I replay our fight.

Something changed in Seth's wolf's behavior. Something eerily familiar.
