Sakura's P.O.V
"How does it feel to have your own room?" Kate asks as we make our way down the hall. "I think I may miss the dungeon," I say honestly. Waking up this morning was hell. Getting into the bed was worse. Kate seems to find it amusing as she laughs it off.
"That bad huh? Well, now that you are allowed in the pack house you can visit me any time. Day or night. So if you ever want to have a sleepover I am always available." I smile at her. "Considering that your couch is bigger than my bed, I might take you up on that."
She gave me one last smile before turning down another hallway to go to her class. I continue straight. At another intersection, a guy suddenly jumps out. He is so close that I trip when I try to back up. He quickly catches me before I completely fall. "Woah, watch your step there. You can't possibly be falling for me this quick,"
So he was that kind of guy. I awkwardly chuckle and lightly push him away. "Okay," I say, dragging out the 'o'. "Thank you for saving me from the fall that you caused."
He laughs and says, "You've got spirit. I like that," If this guy keeps talking any longer I am going to roll my eyes out of my sockets. "I would like to get to class so if you could move that would be great."
"You can go around me," he challenges me with his eyes. "Try anything and I mean anything, you will not like the outcome."
He smirks and to my surprise, he doesn't try to block my way. "Can't a guy be nice these days? And you women love to say chivalry is dead." I could practically see his smirk despite him being behind me. I reach my homeroom class to find a guy with black hair and brown eyes waiting at the door.
"I know Mrs. Malis can be a lot but you don't have to be terrified to go inside. You aren't late. Well, at least not yet." Oddly enough, he smiles at me. "I am here for you," It must be my lucky day. "I am Stephan. Your original assigned bodyguard." It takes me a moment to process his name. It isn't until he says bodyguard that I remember.
Seth had kept his word. The thought filled my heart with warmth. "Right, Stephan. It is nice to meet you. I am Sakura although I am sure you already knew that." He nods his head and smiles. Were all of the assigned guards this light-hearted?
Laurence too was always smiling and still does. "Seth made sure I was completely aware of your appearance. He also threatened to castrate me and as he puts it, 'tear me limb from limb' if I ever lay a hand on you."
It takes me a while to get Stephan's words through my head. I can't imagine Seth saying such things. The thought of him saying something like that...turns me on. I try to ignore my body's plea for Seth's hands on my body and opt to awkwardly cough instead.
"Well, that is...something," Stephan doesn't say anything and lightly smiles. I try to compose myself before I open the door and head inside.
Soren's P.O.V
Doing combat training every day is not as much of a struggle as I thought it would be. I improve my tactics in every class under the guise of 'learning'. Now that I am not constantly getting hit, my wolf is taking the class better. Class ends and I make my way to the changing locker to change back into my school uniform and out of my yoga pants and shirt.
When I reach my locker I smell blood. I open my locker but instead of standing in front of it I move with the locker door and stand behind it to see multiple used pads fall out of the locker. Some still stick to the inside of my locker. My clothes are drenched with blood and reek of death.
Period blood was truly a different breed. I don't have to sniff around this blood bath any longer to figure out who did this. Some girls in the locker room laugh and others look like they are about to lose their breakfast.
I leave my locker the way it is and go to my next class. I still have my yoga pants and spaghetti strapped shirt on when I enter Mr. Lance's class. "Did you forget to change Ms. Heartfelt? Or did you decide to come into my class like this because you felt like it?"
I take a deep breath and sigh. "My uniform got ruined," I don't give him any more information before taking my seat. I lay my head on my hand and stare out the window, tunning out Lance's words.
~~
Before I have a chance to leave the classroom, Lance tells me to stay behind. "You need to go to the office for a change of clothes. I let you stay in my class but other teachers won't be as nice." I nod my head and leave the classroom and head to the office.
"We don't have any spare clothes at the moment but we have a hoodie you can borrow to... cover yourself." The blonde-haired woman pulls out a beat-down grey sweater and hands it to me. "Try to be more prepared next time and have a spare change with you when you come to school."
I nod my head and go to my next class that I was now late for. "Go to the office and get a pass and some decent clothes," Ms. Lilith says to me. I don't try to put up a fight and go back to the office. The lady writes me a note saying she allows me to wear the clothes and a reason for being late."
I go back up to Lilith's class and hand her the note. She nods and I take my seat once more.
I snap out of my daze when I hear my name being called. I look at Lilith in my peripheral view. "Answer the question on the board." She demands. I turn my head to look at the board and see a bunch of gibberish. Something with the letters MLK, ZLK, and MLZ with a bunch of signs in between.
God, I hate math. In reality, the question was not that hard, just too troublesome for me to try and solve. Lilith waits for an answer she won't get. I shrug my shoulders and go back to watching the shifting class that was happening outside of the window.
I can sense Lilith's anger radiate off her in waves. "If you won't take this class seriously then the door is right there." she points at the door with her ruler. I sigh again. Solving the answer was less troublesome than this.
I pick up my pencil and work out the problem. "Zero," I say and look out the window once more. I see Lilith smile and continue teaching. She must be passionate about math. It was a sentiment we didn't share. I find math the bane of my existence. And something overly complicated. I don't even use the majority of these formulas much less apply them.
The class ends and it is time for lunch. I enter the line and take my tray. I make my way to the table Sakura usually sits at, despite her not being here at the moment.
As I make my way toward the table, Samantha and her goons approach me. I roll my eyes and close my eyes to find Nirvana. "Did you enjoy our present?" she asks with a devilish grin. I don't pay her any attention and walk past her.
Two seconds later I feel a liquid substance drip down my hair and clothes. I look at the milk carton on the floor. She had thrown and busted a carton of milk on my head.
I chuckle. Boy was this place testing my patients. "You will acknowledge when I am speaking to you, filth." I won't dignify her with a response and leave the cafeteria and head toward the oak tree Asher and I sat under. I smile when I find him in the same position I first found him in.
I take a seat on the ground beside him. He doesn't say anything and looks at me. It is only then he realizes I am drenched in milk and out of uniform. His eyes widen. "Are you okay? What happened?" I am surprised by the amount of worry and...fear in his eyes.
"Your classic case of bullying. I am trying to contain myself for Sakura's sake." I look at what a mess my braid has become. I eat my burger and fruit in silence. I take a glance at Asher to see him more shaken up about the situation than I am.
"Are you okay?" I ask because he genuinely looks like he is about to pass out. Almost as if he were reliving his own experience. "You probably shouldn't keep hanging around me."
"That won't do. You are one of the few people I like here." He lifts his head in surprise at my words. "I don't know what you have been through or what you have going on but I can assure you that this has nothing to do with you."
He goes back to drawing and I continue eating.
Sakura's P.O.V
I open the cafeteria doors and join Kate and the others in the line. "So you finally met Stephan," Kate says. I nod my head in response. While we make our way to the table I catch Soren's scent. If she was here before did she leave?
I catch Samantha smirking across the other table. I bear my canines at her and take my seat. "That girl grinds my gears," I say as I furiously bite into my apple. Catalina and Kate share a look. "What was that?" I ask. "Nothing," Catalina is too quick to respond.
I bite back a growl and let it reverberate in my throat. I take a deep inhale. "What. Happened?" I slowly open my eyes to see the group staring at me in surprise. Seth's eyes held a different emotion but I decided to ignore it, taking whatever Kate and Catalina needed to spit out as a priority.
Kate speaks up first, "Rumor got around that Samantha filled Soren's locker up with used pads." Kate cringes at her own words. Logan chokes on his burger. "You women are evil," he says with distaste and disbelief. Seth emits a growl of his own.
Lucas remains cold and Noah looks worried. "Where is Laurence?" my words come off more demanding than intended but I didn't care. "Laurence doesn't go to school here. He has a job and is second in command to the soldier chief. He assured Ranor that Soren wouldn't be a problem and that if anything happened he would take full responsibility."
Judging by the way Samantha was grinning, Soren proved Laurence right. I on the other hand am about to be a big problem. I get out of my seat and make my way toward the bitch. Seth puts his hand on my shoulder and says, "I have got this,"
I appreciate the gesture but my wolf nor I will tolerate this. Someone else interfering expresses that we can't take care of it. It is a sign of disrespect and is an act my siblings and I refrain from doing. I bark a growl at him, telling him to stand down.
I can tell he is resisting a growl. I stand in front of Samantha. "Keep bothering Soren and me and I will make your life hell." She makes a nasty sound and spits on my face. She. Spits. On. My. Face.
Seth is storming our way but stops in his tracks when I chuckle darkly. I retract my fist and punch her in the face. She emits a whimper. I go behind her and grab her hair and whisper in her ear. "I really hope you have learned a valuable lesson today. Next time I will break your skull." I bang her head on the floor and walk back to my table.
I am sure on a regular day Samantha would have fought back but any wolf would back down if I emitted my rank. I did it just enough for her and only her to feel the radiation of my power but something told me it wouldn't hold her off for long.
