Sakura's P.O.V
"Where are you two going to meet?" Soren asks me. That's a very good question. "I'll call," Kate says. She goes into her bathroom to make the call. "This is so exciting! Seth has had girlfriends but this is different. You're his mate and he is so sweet and tender with you. Not that he isn't like that with other women
I'm not saying you aren't special either but-"
"I think she gets it," Soren interjects. I don't know what to make of what Catalina just said. "How was Seth like before I came?" Catalina takes a moment to think before she responds. "He has always been kind and respectful, even to people who don't deserve it, which is why it is out of character for him to defy Ranor's orders as he has for you. It is also why he didn't go on the defensive when Samantha approached him.
And why he won't always like Soren's tactics. From what I have seen you get physical when you get upset. Seth has been raised with a completely different mindset." She looks at Soren. It was funny because Soren has been extremely out of character since she jumped out of the tree. Believe it or not, she is usually caring and sweet. Physical violence isn't typically her first answer.
She only touched Samantha and Lucas because they touched her first. I frown at Catalina's misconception of Soren. I can't blame any of them though. If Soren chooses to not show her true self around them then that's her decision.
"I think you will get a better idea of how Seth is when you go on your date." Right on cue, Kate steps out of the bathroom. "Follow me," she says and we all exit her room.
"Where are you going?" a little girl, around the age of eleven, with brown hair that had a hint of auburn, and hazel eyes, asks. "Hey, Lily. I am taking Sakura-" she points to me and Lily turns her gaze toward me. "-to her date with Seth." Lily's eyes shine.
"Are you Seth's mate?" nobody could miss the excitement on her face. I nod my head. "You're so pretty." Lily continues to stare at me. "We have to get going Lils, but I will come back later and we can watch a movie together," Kate says. Lily absently nods, still looking at me.
"Have fun," the woman I am assuming is Mrs. Ellen, says. I smile back at her.
We continue to walk until we are in front of the woods. Everyone continues to follow Kate into the woods. We keep walking for about ten minutes until we come across a clearing. Still, in the woods, I gaze upon the scene in front of me.
Seth stood in a suit and tie with a pink rose in his hand. The clearing had a stone gazebo with a table in the middle of two chairs. There were plates and utensils on each side with platters of covered food. Grass and flowers surrounded the gazebo.
"Oh my god." I think Catalina teared up a bit but I wouldn't know. My eyes stay glued to Seth. He finally notices us and looks at me. "Let's go," Soren says and the girls quickly scramble away, leaving only us two.
We stay silent, relishing in each other. He looked stunning in his suit and tie. He didn't bother changing his hair but I liked it that way. The suit and blazer defined his muscles, making him look sexier. I take a big gulp as I watch him practically devour me with his eyes.
He stares me up and down with lust and adoration in his eyes. He releases a breath. Was he holding it this entire time? He makes the first move and I follow suit. We meet halfway and stare at each other a little longer. "You look radiant, my love." he grabs my hand and kisses the back of it.
A blush climbs from my neck to my face. "You look...great." I breathlessly say. Not once do we take our eyes off one another. "Shall we?" he smiles and takes my hand. He guides me to the gazebo and places me in my chair. He takes a seat of his own and we're left in silence.
After a minute or so passes by, I awkwardly cough. "I'm sorry, I have never done this before. I mean I have done this before as I have been on a date but I..." I cut myself off, not sure of what to say next.
Seth doesn't say anything. He continues to stare at me. I shy under his gaze. "Don't look away from me. I like looking at your eyes," he says in a soft tone. I internally scream. But it's so awkward just staring at each other.
My face flushes and I take a glance at Seth. His gaze is soft and caring. I find myself being able to look in them, the awkward feeling gone.
"If this hasn't been your first date, would you mind enlightening me about your past experience?" I sense a hint of jealousy in his tone but nothing overbearing. I find that strange considering Catalina told me he had other girlfriends. Was I his girlfriend? Does this date mean we are official?
I try to shut down all my thoughts and enjoy the moment. I tried to be careful about what I said. We said we didn't have friends but we lived as humans for the majority of our lives. We never said we couldn't acquire knowledge but it was assumed.
"While I was living as a human this guy, Brian had an interest in me. At first, I pushed him away because I knew it couldn't work. But he was persistent in a respectful way. Eventually, I gave in and let him take me on a date. I had a great time. He was my first and my last. Until you."
I edited a lot of details since this topic isn't ideal for a first date. Truth is Brian had all of my firsts. Every last one and I've never regretted it. Not even now.
"I'm glad he treated you right, but I'm here now and I promise to always treat you the way you want to be treated." he gives me a soft smile and lays his hand on mine. I intertwine our fingers and smile back. "What happened to him?" his intentions were pure and he only asked out of curiosity. Still, the question sent daggers to my heart.
I met Brian a long time ago. He was certainly dead by now. My eyes swell with tears as I reminisce about my time with him. I give Seth a sad smile. "He's...long gone." His heart looks like it is about to rip out of his chest.
I have no parents and also lost my brother and my lover. I was building quite the reputation for myself.
"I'm sorry. I never intend on leaving you in any shape way or form." Seth says with determination and love. My heart beats a little faster at his statement. "Thank you. And for the record, the same goes for me."
I'm surprised when the words leave my lips. I knew I wasn't going to leave Seth but I wasn't certain. I know I can't live without him knowing he is out there but I also know I might have to.
My heart breaks at the thought. He notices this and squeezes my hand tighter. "Catalina said you also had...others. How did that go?"
Seth looks a little surprised but quickly recovers. "There have been some good ones and some bad ones. I have never dated much since I tried to save as much of myself for...well...you." I blush at the statement.
"Why did they end?"
"My relationships were never supposed to be long. It also wasn't a fling either. Some were really hard to let go of. Others, not so much." I chuckle.
"I can't believe we are talking about our exes as our first topic for our first date." I laugh. I stop when I notice Seth isn't doing the same. My body goes rigid. Did I do something wrong?
"Fuck, I love when you laugh." his words shook me since I haven't heard Seth curse. It also warmed my cheeks and...other areas that shouldn't be warming on the first date. At this point, my entire face was flushed a light red.
"Ahem, I uh...I like your eyes." I mentally slap myself, hoping the earth would swallow me whole. He is stunned for a moment before he breaks out into a full laugh. He puts his free hand on his face and tries to compose himself.
I slightly pout, not actually mad at his reaction. I retract my hand from his and cross my arms over my chest. "I was being serious." He tries to contain his laughter and says, "I know and I adore you so much for that." he says in between laughs. I end up joining his fit of laughter.
We finally manage to compose ourselves. He puts his hand on my cheek and says, "Have I mentioned how beautiful you look?" he strokes my cheeks. "Once or twice," I respond and lean into his touch.
He removes his hand from my cheek, leaving it cold. He takes the lid off the tray and steaming crab legs, rice, and beans appear. "I asked Soren what your favorite foods were." that tricky little minx. "Thank you," I lean forward and kiss him on the cheek. "Anything for you beautiful."
We take our time to eat in peaceful silence. "When did you have the time to ask Soren about my favorite food?" I swear she was at my side the entire day. He grins at me. "When we were walking back to the cars. I slightly pushed her back and whispered the question in her ear."
I hum. "How intimate." I tease. To my surprise, Seth laughs. "Not even close beautiful. No offense, but stone-cold isn't my type." I chuckle. "I suppose not. She's not stone-cold though. You'll see. Is that going to be your nickname for me?"
"You'll see?" I roll my eyes. "No, beautiful." he smiles. "Only if you want it to be," I smirk. "I do."
"I want to hear you say that when we get married someday." Normally this would freak anyone out, but mate's almost always get married. Genuinely hoping that day will come, I smile back. We spend the rest of our night eating, joking, and getting to know each other.
After that, we star gazed. We lay on the grass with our hands intertwined and faced the stars. I pointed out every constellation and its meaning. "Which one is that?"
"That one is a zodiac sign. It's Virgo."
"What is your zodiac sign?"
"I'm an Aquarius. You?"
"Libra, when is your birthday?"
"Aquarius is born between January 20th and February 18th. Take your best guess." Seth takes a while to think before responding.
"I definitely think you were born in February. You're so sweet." I laugh at his words. He just doesn't know.
"February 14th?" Seriously? "Valentine's Day?" Seth's eyes bulge as he realized the meaning of that date. "Sorry, I didn't mean to." I chuckle and turn over to face his side. I run my fingers through his hair and kiss his forehead. He tucks me into his body and reciprocates the act. "You were close though. February 16th." His laugh rolls through me and sends a shiver down my spine.
I embrace him harder. "At least I got the month right and was in the date range." I snuggle in his neck and hum. A low growl erupts from his body. Lust courses through my veins like a drug. "Your turn to guess my birthday." his voice comes out more gruff and deep. It heats my core and I emit a growl of my own.
"Libra's are born from September 23rd to October 22nd," I say aloud to ponder on the information. "How do you remember all of this?" I break my thought for a moment. "I have always been interested in astrology and my memory is very good."
"Is it now?" I don't respond and continue to think. "September 23rd or October 18th."
"No fair, I didn't get two tries."
"It's one try and two answers, besides, I never said you couldn't." I lift myself so that I'm hovering over the floor and looking at his face. He grins. "Don't try to get smart with me beautiful," I smirk "I'm just stating the facts. Anyways, was I right?"
He kisses my shoulder and moves up to my neck. A moan mixed with a growl releases from my mouth. Seth's eyes darken. I turn my neck to allow him more access. He continues to go upward and kisses my jaw. He pauses as he hovers over my lips.
"October 19th."
My eyes bulge and a frown creases my face. "Son of a-" I get cut off as Seth connects our lips. My vision hazes over and I moan into the kiss. He abruptly stops and pulls away. I growl in annoyance. Why the hell is he pulling away?
"Is this okay? I did it in the spur of the moment and didn't really ask for consent so-" I cut him off by kissing him. I stop for a moment. "I wouldn't have kissed back had I not wanted it but thank you for asking anyway."
He pushes my hair behind my ear and kisses it. "You taste absolutely delicious beautiful." He says in between kisses. I melt into the kiss and we spend the rest of our night making out under the moon and stars.
