While spending time with Scarlett, the Alpha Prince of the Crescent Moon Pack could not help himself but feel comfortable and certain elation just being with her.
He had not smiled like this before since his mother died.
The same with Scarlett, she could not explain it but being with the Alpha Prince made things better and she forgot her own longing for her foster family at that moment. If at first she only wanted to express her gratitude towards the Alpha Prince for saving her life and constantly being there for her whenever she needed help.
She never compelled him to help her but it seems that the Alpha Prince always extends his helping hand and makes his presence felt by the red velvet-haired daughter of Richard Pride.
Everything was getting better for the two of them. Both did not expect to be closer than they were now.
As they ate, Prince Kratos stole quick glances towards Scarlett.
"I really wanted to say thank you for everything. I just want you to know that I truly appreciate your support and efforts to be there for me. Don't forget I will always be here for you as well," Scarlett genuinely expressed her gratitude.
Quickly, the Alpha Prince of the Crescent Moon Pack responded, "It will always be my pleasure to serve my savior and be there for you as well whenever you need it."
Their stares locked at each other before smiling once more, such chemistry and attraction towards each other has truly blossomed.
In that moment, the Alpha Prince wanted to come clean with his true identity.
Maybe it was time for him to be completely honest.
If Scarlett has warmed up to him, the Alpha Prince thought that she might change her mind and opinion regarding werewolves.
"Scarlett… I also want to tell you something…" Prince Kratos took his time in finding the right moment to finally say it and maybe this time was the perfect timing for it.
He mustered all his strength to finally say it to her.
"What is it?" Scarlett wondered in curiosity.

Before the Alpha Prince could even utter another word, a familiar scent invaded his senses.
And then his phone rang.
He quickly checked his cellular phone to see who it was.

"I'll be back… I'll just get this call…" Prince Kratos excused himself to answer a royal call.
"Sure, take your time! Don't rush…" Scarlett's reply.

The Alpha King of the central region was seated on his grand throne.
Members of the parliament, ministers, other Alphas from different wolf pack, and all important werewolf dignitaries of their region attended the assembly initiated by their Alpha King.
Waiting for everyone to arrive, others continued to gossip and discuss with their peers.
Buzzing echoes from the crowd filled the entire great hall of the royal court.
"Your Highness, we have called for the eldest prince. At this moment he is on his way back to the royal palace," one of the trusted generals of the Alpha King reported while kneeling down behind the shadows of his throne.
"Good… because it's time…" he heaved a sigh upon telling his trusted general.
A sigh that expects for an ominous chaos to descend upon them soon.
In the middle of the waiting of the members of assembly, the doors of the great hall suddenly opened.
Announcing the entrance of the queen of werewolves and Prince Owen.
Everyone cleared the path and made way for their queen and royal prince.
Queen Raenys along with Prince Owen walked with full of pride and haughtily.
They treated others lower than them and as their clear subjects.
As they reached the stairs of the throne, both royalties paid respects to their Alpha King.
"What brought the two of you here? I haven't called for you and Owen," the Alpha King pointed out to the queen.
Without any hesitation or fear, Queen Raenys answered his query.
"Forgive us, your Highness!" Queen Raenys apologized to the Alpha King but it was obvious that she had an ulterior motive for attending the assembly.
She further disclosed to everyone her reason for coming, "But if you were planning to discuss and announce your decision about your next heir to the throne. I think it's only right for me and your children to be here. Unfortunately, you did not call them except for one… Prince Kratos, am I right?"
Queen Raenys showed to the Alpha King that she was aware of his plans and she was against it.
Prince Owen looked at his mother with high admiration and respect for her.
There was no response from the Alpha King. He was wondering how the queen could find out about his plans.
"I have not called for you and any of my children because it is still about to be discussed by the entire assembly regarding the matter," the Alpha King reasoned out with Queen Raenys and denied that there has been decision already about the heir to the throne.
"Then, I think it is only right that I should be in the audience as well. I hold the majority of the influence in the parliament and amongst our allies. After all, I am not just the queen of our kingdom but my wolf pack contributes the most in aid to all of our allies. Am I right?" Queen Raenys emphasized her dominance and political influence.
She sought support from her own allies through her emphasis.
Rallies of approval could be heard behind her.
"Can you hear that, your Highness? I don't think you want to upset a lot of respected individuals at this assembly?" Queen Raenys exchanged stabbing stares with her husband.
While most of the members of the assembly expressed their support to their queen, the two most powerful figures in the werewolf kingdom were discreetly at odds with each other.
'You think I will let you do what you want without my approval, my dear husband?' Queen Raenys thought to herself. 'I will not let you have your way!'
On the other hand, at the borders of the kingdom.
In the middle of the forest, lifeless bodies of rogue werewolves were scattered.
"Princess Hannah, your queen mother has ordered for your return immediately!" a royal guard informed the princess.
"What kind of trouble is she plotting now? This is such a drag!" Princess Hannah did not want to participate in any ploys of her mother but she knew exactly what will happen if she goes against her wishes.
"Looks like there will be blood and chaos in the palace soon…" she uttered before leaving the corpse of her defeated opponents.
