Lila basked in the sun, eyes closed and legs crossed. The silence was peaceful. Even her heart was at ease.
It wasn't laden with the heaviness that often made life meaningless. Her mind was free from all the thoughts that plagued her life.
She could feel it. Something was about to happen to her body. It began slowly. A mild pain originated from the pit of her stomach.
She didn't open her eyes. The only change in her posture was the furrowed brows. The girl dismissed the pain at first thinking it would go away.
How wrong she was! The heat only increased in her body. She could feel it. Her stomach was on fire as though it was being turned upside down.
It began to spread to other parts of her body. Slowly it took over every inch making her sweat.
Being the queen of endurance that she was, she only bit on her lips to prevent the scream from slipping out. It felt out of her control.
