"Did you have to do that?" asked Melva sheepishly, noticing people from the floor below them were curiously looking at her and Vance, whispering in each other's ear. She was convinced the news of her marriage with Vance would be known across the whole Kingdom of Ethia by tomorrow. Her face was still flushed like a tomato and she futilely fanned herself with her hand, as though it could get rid of the colour in her face.
"It was an announcement. How else should I do it?" Vance was grinning from ear-to-ear. He was clearly enjoying all the attention he was getting from the nobles downstairs. This man was apparently also hungry for acknowledgement. Just how greedy was he?
"The purposefully late entrance and the balcony were highly unnecessary," argued Melva. Her cheeks were set ablaze again when she heard the crowd give them a loud applause. Why were they clapping their hands at the announcement? The applause was too much for her to handle. She was getting dizzy from all the attention.
