Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

If curiosity killed a cat---then Monica definitely committed homicide on this one. Since the minutes of the meeting of Supervisors and Managers ended, Thalia has been going in and out of the pantry just to try and take a peak of the guys that Monica been talking about. Thalia had been checking her watch almost by the minute, and it'll take a few more until her sister gets off her job. Since it's still way past the happy hours as the Hospitality Industry calls it, and the staff is not yet busy... Thalia decided to go an tease Monica for a bit. And it's just to feed her curiosity.

Silently, Thalia walked behind the latter while she was polishing the desert spoons and forks. "Hey!" Thalia poked her on the side of her torso making Monica jolt.

"Jesus, Thally!" She squealed as her hands flailed up on the air, and she almost dropped the spoon she was polishing on the floor. "Can't you see somebody is trying to work here?"

"Well, I can tell that you're pretending to be busy here on the lobby so that you can spy on that crush of yours once he gets here with his equally extremely hot friend, I assume?" Thalia blurted out in one word.

And there it is, the tell-tell sign of a sheepish Monica. Her cheeks flashed pink and she bit her lips as to cover her smile. For one thing that Thalia knows after working with her for so long is that Monica is a bad liar.

She looked at the latter with that oh so offended look. "No, I'm not." She protested with a frown. And that's definitely the tell-tell sign of the lies that lays ahead.

"Oh yes you are."

Monica rolled her eyes and groaned at the latter. "Alright, Thalia." She puts down the spoon and cloth and then looked at Thalia with intensity in her eyes. "I am here because of the 'view' okay? And yes, to answer your question he is that much good looking. And yes again, his friend is extremely as scrumptious!"

"Scrumptious?" Thalia asked with one of her brows raised.

"Yes. Scrump-tio-us." She clapped back at the latter with a sneer. "Can I go back to work now, huh, Thally?"

Thalia was about to bring about an inside joke to piss Monica off---which has been a hobby of hers these past few days, but then the guard hastily opens the door. "Hey, Hazel!" The security guard greeted with a smile.

Forgetting about Monica, Thalia walked towards her sister and gave her a smile. "And how's the shift?"

She groaned with that oh so famous eye roll of hers. "Terrible. I'm tired. And hungry. And did I tell you that Gabby is still being an ass?" She whined while putting her stuff on the table. Thalia signaled Kirsten to hand over the coffee to her sister.

"I don't know what you see in him."

"Well, as they say... love is blind." Was what Hazel said before she took a sip from the cup and sighed in relief. "That's better."

Thalia stared at her sister, and it looks like the latter wont be staying at the cafe for too long. "Someone's in a hurry." She noted when she saw Hazel almost chugging down the drink.

"I need to go home now." Was her short reply.

"I can see that." Was Thalia's. "And why are you in such a rush?"

"Today is the day, don't you remember?"

Thalia scowled and was suddenly in deep thought. 'Is it a special day today? But it's not even her birthday yet. It's not our Mom and Dad's birthday as well. It's not even their anniversary.' Thalia thought to herself.

"I need to stash on Krona's cat food."

Oh. "I get it." Thalia replied with a smile. She watched silently as her sister packed up her things before she leaves. And then with a wave of good bye, she leaves in a hurry. Thalia turned around and went back to the back of the store. And when a person says back of the store---it means it's the big cold room where we put all the pastries and cheesecakes in.

Sometimes Thalia wonders if her sister's bad mood is due to her 'boyfriend's' behavior. Truthfully speaking, she never liked Gabby from the start. He was too aggressive and too flamboyant. He was too possessive and did not give Hazel the space that she needs when she needs it most.

Not a moment too soon, Thalia began counting the stocks they have left. She sighed and picked up a small pad to continue to check on the monthly inventory. She was about to continue on counting the pastries when the door banged on the wall causing her to jerk in surprise. She didn't even need to look on the door to guess who that person is.

"Jesus, Monica!" Thalia sighed while closing her eyes. "Can you lessen your dramatic flare, even if it's just in your working hours? Please?"

Monica gasped loudly while her hand was covering her gaped mouth. Her brown her were wide and her brows arched up. "I ain't Jesus, but I bet I can take those boys to heaven!" Monica said in a sing song tone as she dances through her own rhythm. "This is why H.R. hired me Thally. Because of my excellent costumer service skills." She winked and did one of those silly poses of hers. "Also... Your sister forgot her phone on the table. Here you go." She handed the phone the latter and silently thanked Monica for it.

She was about to run towards the door and rush home to her sister. And then just before she rides a cab, something... a scent caught her attention.

==================

Patrick was running late. 'How can I be late! I was awake before the sun rose, it just doesn't make sense. 'Thomas's going to kill me', was what he was thinking as he speed through the dirt road in his 4x4. He had at least one more mile before the main highway came into view.

When he reached the highway he released a sigh. At least now he was only ten minutes away. After he spotted the cafe, he stopped the car and fixed his hair up. He parked his truck at the next available spot and ignored the looks people gave it. If only he could not read their expressions so much, he thought as a light smirk formed on his handsome face.

He was wearing casual clothes. Dark blue jeans that hugged his body in all the right places and sleeveless loose black shirt that revealed a little bit of his tanned muscled chest as well as the tattoos on his arms, chest and a part of his back.

"Now where did you go, Tommy? You better not have left yet. I don't care that I'm ten minutes late. You dragged me out here…" Patrick muttered to himself as he searched for his best friend and alpha male of his pack. Having his father in the alpha position for half a century also helped Thomas inherit some of those strong alpha genes he currently has.

Among all the werewolves in their area, Patrick and Tommy were the Alphas. How they both became friends despite owning a single territory is beyond them. If they fought to death, for sure it would be one heck of a fight. If it's a matter of strength, then Patrick is the winner. But when it comes to the brain, then Thomas will be on the winning side. Any weakness within the ranking wolves can be exploited by their younger wolves, so they had to constantly be on guard to any attacks. During their first transformation is the most critical of all since it's all about battle of dominance and territory. The Ingrid family, Versus the Wang family.

Both were on par with strength and stamina. The two family of wolves doesn't want to lose their alpha's. That's why they decided on a truce. And a bond between the two created a beautiful and long lasting friendship. It also helped that both of them was built and naturally dominant. Their pheromones were the strongest too, therefore he had a lot of attention from both genders within and outside of the wolf community.

It's still a surprise among the werewolf community how these two powerful males can be friends when every sign indicated for them to be mortal enemies in a constant fight for who was more powerful. The secret lied in loyalty. Patrick saved Thomas during a fight with a rogue wolf. Since then, they were inseparable.

Finally spotting Thomas among the crowd covering him, Patrick jogged to the little cafe he was seated in.
