The cloud of smoke rose above the elk which was laying on the ground with struggled breathing. The dagger did an extreme amount of damage to the elk, but the lightning did little too none as it was heat, and the elk seemed to be very resistant to heat. I walked towards it being very wary of its hot shield. It couldn't breath as the knife punctured one of the lungs and not the heart. It's legs wobbled as it tried to stand up and defend itself, leading to me feeling a lot of pity for the animal.
I looked at it not being able to get any closer I turned around and left. I couldn't watch it, it was sad. But not enough to save it. I looked around and found a couple of boars to fight with my hands for a bit. Too my surprise, I leveled up from doing so.

Seeing the notification I ran back towards the now dead elk and walked towards it. It's body lay there for a while. I stood around waiting for it to dissolve or do whatever it does. Because I'm not sticking my hand deep into the insides of an elk right now. Not what I need. eventually it did and my dagger fell to the ground.

"Sweet!" I giggled, this was going well. I had already gathered a load of common orbs from the bulls I killed. I ignored most of the pelts and stuff because they won't worth much, maybe a bag of apples.
I turned around and started running back to the guild too turn in the elk parts. The sky was red as a sunset gleam as I passed through a flat meadow. When returning inside the towns stone gate walls, stores were being shut down and the orange gleam of lights inside the inns. Laughter rang out from the guild hall as I entered and walked up too the desk.
"Hey, I've come to exchange items." I said with a small grin.
The old man running the desk looked up at me and smiled.
"Sure, what ya wanna turn in today?"
I opened up my item screen to withdraw the items

I took out all the expendable items and placed them on the large desk in front of him. He scanned the items and was pleasantly surprised with the ashen orb.
"Normally this amounts too the same price as a magic orb, but the Empire's mages have needed these recently. A new fire spell has been made and it uses ash to conjour."
He says with a large smile as he hands me 3 gold coins and 15 silvers. I placed the gold into the small pouch on the side of my hip, people glared on with jealousy. but since trailed orbs can come from 3rd status monsters or higher, they could only glare on with envy.
After thanking him I exited the guild and went back into the inn, the receptionist nodded at me for greeting. I enter my room and collapsed on the bed full of exhaustion. Sleep came easy.
I was woken up by Milda who looked at me with a smile.
"Good morning, it's really late in the morning and I thought I would wake you up." She said with a small turnaround.
I looked around my lit room, sunlight poured into it. Hoping out of bed I went downstairs to eat. As I sat down and ate quickly Milda came over with Nell.
"The rent for a transporter to the capital is 2 gold. Which is really expensive and almost a noble thing when it's that high. It might be better if we walk to the capital."
As I was finishing my last bite I turned to look at them.
"Well I can pay that, I think it might be best if we do that as it's quicker and we could settle faster. I don't like this towns guards and how it's run, I feel like if we stay here much longer sonething else will happen." I stood up from my small wooden chair and cleaned up the place a bit.
"That's great!" She seemed relieved " me and Nell are ready too go right now if that's alright with you."
"Not at all."
I stood up and we walked towards the door, checking out with the receptionist. Outside walk wasn't very far as we toured the stalls in our way down, buying a couple of apples and portable food for the trip. Arriving at the transporter rental, I saw a large man sitting out front almost falling asleep. I started to approach a large door on the front of the large fancy stable.
"Hello sir, are you here to rent a transporter?" The large man spoke without standing up. He sat on a large bench, padded with some home pillows.
"Yes I am, do you have one that's large enough for us?" I pointed towards the three of us. Hoping that their was one that was able too do so.
"Yes I do, where are you three going today?"
"The captial" I replied, his eyes gleamed hearing those words.
"Wonderful, that will be 2 gold." He wrote down some sort of checklist as I handed him the payment.
He then lead us inside where multiple animals were kept in very good condition, they were the nobles of animals. Taking us to a large bourse on the way, he stopped and released the horse. He then patted the horse to reassure it and used some sort of spell. His eyes turned blue as well as the horses.
"Alright, he should be ready to go." Patting the side of the horse once again.
"Just hop on top of his back and get ready to go."
I looked at Milda and Nell, Nell looked rather weary of the large animal. Which seemed to be rather too much for the small girl. I walked over too her.
"Hey, this animal isn't going to hurt you. He's going to help us." I nodded reassuringly as I picked her up. She was far too short to get on the horse herself. With that I hopped on top of the horse with Nell in front of me. Milda following in from behind, we both nodded at the man.
"Alright have a safe trip you three." He said with a wave. The building around us blurred as we traveled out of the city in the matter of seconds. The wind was nonexistent as I guessed there was some kind of spell blocking the wind from pushing us off. The grass around us was more than a blur, it mashed together as we sped throgh the roughed up trail. Passing a nearby adventurers group, it only took a second before they were out of sight.
"Woah this is amazing!!!" Milda was blown away with how fast the horse was.
"Yea! This is awesome!" I replied, this horse was cool.
The surrounding area was only becoming more of a mash as I felt the horse speed up now that we were away from all forms of civilization, at this pace we could make it there within a day.
'I wonder how fast this thing is going.'
[about 40 miles in a minute.]
'Holy shit. That's fast, at that pace maybe we could get there in an hour. what's this things dexterity?'
[4,056 is its dex stat. But that's basically all it has to show.]
I nodded in amazment, that was faster than I ever thought anything could go. More towns started to appear around us as we get closer to the capital, after being on this horse for over an hour we noticed the horse starting to slow down a bit.
Looking forward I see a giant city, maybe a hundred times bigger than the one we stayed at previously. It's large walls spanned wider than what I could see. Bring attention to its glory, many towns surround the area as we speed forward, farm towns and towns for business. Shipment carts lead by horses could be seen everywhere. The approaching wall was built of solid stone bricks with a mix of concrete. The horse slowed to a stop about half a mile from the gate. Looking down at Nell who had fallen asleep over the ride I nudged her awake as I hoped off the horse. Milda was behind me dizzy, guess she couldn't handle the sight of going at that speed very well.
"Nell were here." I picked her up and set her gently on the ground, she stood still and looked around at the surrounding area as I nudged her toward the gate. The gate was guarded by only one person which was a bit surprising considering the last town had two.
"Hello! I would like to enter the city please" I said with a respectful bow.
"Identification please." He said with a stern voice, reaching his hand out.
'What identification?' I looked at my hand and saw the ring I had bought from the old man running the guild. I reached over and displayed it to him.
He looked towards the ring and a gold glint circled his eyes.
"Alright you're free to head inside." He turned around and let use through. But I turned and did a quick appraisal on him, I don't think it's smart having only one guard.
