Nate tore himself away from Noam. He rushed out of the house to find Lana.
Finding his sister again had him concerned. Especially after seeing her in action. Lana was far from the person he knew her to be.
Nathaniel felt that he had the right to find out what had happened. There had to be a good reason why she was the way that she was. And an explanation as to how she ended up being related to the alpha of alphas.
Lana was out back in the garden angrily glaring into the distance. The way her brother spoke to her was stuck in her mind.
She wanted to brush it off and forget it however she couldn't. Every word that Noam uttered rang in her mind over and over again.
Seeing him take Nathaniel's side over hers ruined her mood completely. The demon had no place in their lives and yet there he was. Moving around like he ran the place and taking to her as he pleased.
Lana had the urge to tear Nate to pieces limb from limb.
Spotting his sister, Nathaniel turned on his heels to head over to her side. However someone blocked his path. Axel stood in front of him blocking his view of his sister.
"She is angry, it's best to leave her be," he advised Nate.
"I have something to ask her.." Nathaniel tried to go around him. Axel refused him that chance.
Lana was furious, he understood more than anyone to let her be. He didn't want her doing something she might regret with the demon. Since Noam cared for Nathaniel.
"If you go to her, she will hurt you and the alpha will be angry at her," Axel informed him.
"I don't care if she hurts me," Nathaniel said. All that mattered was getting the answers to his questions. And Lana was his blood, he wouldn't mind if she hurt him.
"I don't care either and neither does she but Noam cares. And Lana can take anything in this world but not Noam's anger or hatred," Axel let out. "So for her sake let it go," he asked of him. His voice barely a notch above a whisper.
Nathaniel stopped in his efforts to try and talk to Lana. "Why is she affecting by him so badly. Does sge feel indebted to him?" Nate inquired. "If so then..."
"Lana's life is bound to the alpha. She lives as long as Noam's heart beats, so she is strongly connected to him," Axel told. "While you are here. I ask that you refrain from messing with that bond and stay away from her," he added.
Nathaniel was shocked by the truth. It explained why every little thing that happened around Noam affected her so much.
Noam was literally Lana's oxygen. Nathaniel was confused. How was it possible? How could it be that his sister lives through the demon alpha.
"What happens if Noam dies? What becomes of Lana?" he dared to ask Axel. To know what it would mean for his sister if her took his step of revenge and kill Noam.
"Lana would die. Whatever happens to Noam happens to her either directly or indirectly," Axel responded. "Others see it as obsession however she can't help it. Her intensity towards Noam is instinctive especially since the alpha took on a curse to give her a second chance at life."
Nathaniel was intrigued. Not about the fact that killing Noam would mean killing his sister. But about the fact that Noam took on a curse to save his sister.
"She was nine or ten I think when the alpha saved her from the brink of death. The bond took away her past memories living room in her heart and mind for Noam alone," Axel turned around and stared at Lana's back. "He became her family from that day since she couldnt recall anyone else in her life. Not that it would matter, Lana can't live far from the alpha."
Nathaniel listened to the story stunned. The encounter that Axel was talking about had to be the day that they were attacked by rogue werewolves at home.
The day that his life took a different course that led him to that point. It seemed that he wasn't the only one who's fate changed that faithful day.
His sister and the alpha of alpha's too had a clash with destiny. Nathaniel couldn't imagine what it must have been for Lana to live a life that wasn't hers.
Constantly in fear of any harm coming to the alpha of alphas as she would feel the pain too. Scared of the alpha meeting his end as it would mean her end too.
Noam was a powerful alpha with the envy and hatred of many. Nathaniel understood how hard it must be to keep such a person safe.
He too had walked into their lives with the intention of ending Noam's life. However now he had no idea what he should do. Going through with his plans would end the life of the only family he had in the whole world.
They had only met again, he was ready to see Lana get hurt.
Lana felt their stares and glanced in their direction. Seeing Nathaniel something popped in her head, she stormed off into the mansion.
"I've told you this not to get you to sympathize with her. But I hope you won't make things worse for her while you are here," Axel let out.
Nathaniel nodded his head. Axel left him and walked away following the path Lana took. Nathaniel had no doubt that he was going to see his sister.
He was glad that he had come after Lana. He didn't get a chance to talk to her. However he got to learn a little bit of her truth of what had happened to her.
It wasn't the full story of what had transpired that faithful day. But it was a start and he was determined to find out how Noam had saved Lana.
'For now, I can't kill you,' he thought.
