Karla's eyes widened in shock, her chest pounded at top notch speed, whilst she kept her animated expression plastered on her oval face. Her parched throat made her release a dry cough, worsening the awkwardness and tension preeminent in the room.
The shock on her face slowly faded away, her mind was putting the puzzle pieces together at a fast pace.
"It's you!." She cried out in sudden recognition, jumping out of the chair and weakly balancing herself on her on two feet.
"That depends on who I am to you." His calculated voice said whilst approaching her, his eyes drinking in her beguiling features.
The blonde hair strands that was messily scattered across her face, the almond green eyes that pulled the strings of his fascination. It all came rushing back in his mind, her intoxicating scent flooding his nostrils.
But for some reason, her bewitching eyes weren't half as daring as their last encounter. Infact, they bred confusion, worry and worse of all.
Fear.
"I remember... everything." He heard her mumble under her breath, her fingers clawing at her open chest.
[Hold her, please I want her close, I crave for her sweet scent.] His inner wolf was moaning in pain, begging to have her all to himself.
"And what pray tell do you remember?." Her boss's luscious lips moved in sync while he stood in front of her, staring down at her.
Challenging her. Just like the ancient fucker wanted, expecting his fiery Phoenix to respond in kind.
"Enough... mate." Her toothsome words echoed in his head cynically, her eyes staring right back at him, challenging him. Tysion's heart went wild when his ears picked up on the word mate from her mouth. She not only accepted him, but his inner wolf as well.
She was the first female who accepted all of him, and just that singular thought made him hunger for her.
"You think I didn't remember any of it?. Sure I was nice to you because you were a drunk sloppy mess. But if I had known that you were THE Mr Grey, then I wouldn't have given a fuck about you." Karla spat out.
Both Tysion and his inner wolf were smitten by her venomous words, his wolf didn't tolerate humiliation and at that from a human he was barely learning to accept.
Karla glared at him, the drunk man she had found charming in his own way just the previous night. Her mysterious stranger whom she poured out her heart to in mindless metaphors. She believed that there was someone out there, whom was just like her.
Alone.
But to her greatest disappointment, she only shared drinks with the city's fuck boy and was lucky enough someone intervened before she became one of his many conquests. Making a total fool out of herself, playing along to his sick game of seduction.
Judging by the hard glare and his twitching lower lip, Karla had a gut feeling that she was in for the punishment of a life time.
"You...hate me?."
The domineering aura had suddenly vanished in moments, his unaffectionate midnight blue eyes were substituted with a tender obscure gaze.
"After what you remember? Everything you witnessed? You decide to hate me?." Mr Grey's words were pouring out like a heavy downpour of rain.
His frustration was catching up to him, along with not being able to understand himself fully, he was also unable to read Karla's thoughts when he was vulnerable.
Karla backed away from him, stumbling backwards almost losing her balance more than once. Her boss was impressively taller than she expected, and his broad shoulders blocked her view of the door.
Tysion noticed her fearful eyes trying to locate an exit, her sudden fear of him only fuelled his and his wolf's anger. Not only was she blocking her thoughts, she was also painting him as the villiain in the scene.
"Do you hate me or are you just afraid?."
His torturous eyes returned, his domineering gaze was enough to make anybody shit their pants.
But Karla wasn't just anybody and the six foot man in front of her was well aware of that fact.
********
"Hello kid, am detective Bardrick." Said the detective while he pulled himself a seat opposite the ginger haired witness. Leon Morales.
A lingering aura exuded ripely from where he sat, the detective picked up on that. Hence, his defences were up and his nose was on the ground sniffing out any thing... undeniably abnormal.
"What's your name?." He asked, gazing softly at the innocent looking child. The boy's skin was already pale, losing his nanny must have been traumatic for him.
"Leon." There was however no ounce of fear in his voice, he gave a clear answer without any hesitation.
"Ok...it says here in your records that you're eight. You turn nine in two days." Bardrick said whilst flipping through his profile.
Leon kept his gaze on the mirror behind the detective, gazing intently at it, crunching his dainty fingers.
"Do you mind me asking you what happened?." The detective asked, dropping the file gently on the table, staring directly at the boy.
"With her?. Lo?." Leon asked referring to Loana, the alleged suicide victim.
"Yes, I want you to try and walk me through it all. Bit by bit, when did you see her last?." Said the detective in a collected manner.
"I was up late, watching a toy story marathon on my tablet. Lo told me to get in bed early, but...I just wanted to finish the last part of the movie. I was going to go to bed once I was done." Leon started off in a perfectly normal tone.
"And am guessing she walked in on you disobeying her and maybe she...I don't know tried to hit you?." Bardrick suggested, his eyes darted to a bruise marking on his right arm. One, Leon did not mention to anybody.
"No!. Lo...she's very nice, that's why I did not want her to know I was going behind her back. She's always been there..." He stopped himself abruptly, and licked his lower lip.
Bardrick noticed the boy's constant staring at the mirror, he noticed Leon's pupil's dilate, and his mouth slowly part.
He looked over his shoulder sharply, trying to see what had caught Leon's attention. The kid sort of snapped once he was caught out, and his stoic face turned panicked all of a sudden.
"I can't help you Leon if you are keeping secrets from me?. Did you hear Loana argue with anybody?. Was there anybody who was mean to her?." Bardrick questioned, trying to draw the interrogation into another direction. Whilst trying not to scare the witness.
"I can't remember... it's all...blurry." the kid issued, proving to be little or no help to the detective.
"Did you know about the man we found in your closet?. And tell me if you recognize this knife?." Bardrick asked, about to pull out a photo from the case file.
The sound of the interrogation room doors ceremoniously opening caused both parties to lose focus, and diverted their perplexed gazes at the intruder.
A slender looking brown skin woman, with black curly hair, wearing a red suit Strutted over to the interrogation table, her silent heels clanking against the floor.
"Hello detective bardrick am..."
"Attorney Cora, the city's loudest advocate." Bardrick said in recognition, an unmistakable glint of irritation flashed across his eyes once she returned the hand shake he stretched out.
"Glad my voice can be of assistance... detective." She replied in a cryptic tone, tossing him her infamous smirk.
