Feng Jiao got out of the car and looked around for a few minutes.
The place was exactly what she had wanted. It wasn't gigantic, but it was definitely large. It also had a garden and a rather cozy feeling to it. Sure, it was in essence, a big white concrete box in the modern style that was trendy nowadays, but Feng Jiao still liked it.
It was private, tucked away among trees, and the garden was wide and beautiful.
She ran over to the door of the house and entered it without much thought. She had completely forgotten Gao Longwei was with her.
It was only one fingerprint to get into the house, so she hadn't even bothered to look at Gao Longwei as she entered the house.
Sure, he was attractive, and sometimes made her heart beat faster, but did it really matter that much? Shooting werewolves also made her heart beat faster, and it was a rather attractive job to her. No one ever said she was in love with the job…
Feng Jiao strung her little bag over her shoulders and pulled out a paper bag.
It was her macarons. Within seconds she was munching away at them as she "toured" her new house. Sure, she hadn't exactly bought it just yet, but Gao Longwei and Liao Jiang knew each other, she assumed they'd figure it out between themselves.
There was definitely more to buying a house than signing a contract with a man that promised her the house by a certain age, and his company if he didn't honor his promise. Most normal people wouldn't ever have to sign a contract like that, but who really cared?
It was a fantastic idea for Feng Jiao.
She wasn't losing anything, and her chances of gaining things were incredibly high. High enough for her to allow herself to fall for something that could only be a scam.
Back at the orphanage the director had always told her that if something was too good to be true, it was too good to be true.
And this deal, a handsome man simply giving her a house and a shot at stealing his company? It was way too good to be true.
But Feng Jiao lived for the risk.
If you didn't take risks even as a werewolf hunter then what was the point of living? Was that not too boring? Feng Jiao really couldn't see any way that she could lose out here.
Sure, the contract could be called a fraud, but she'd already been recording the entire exchange, which was more than enough evidence if they claimed it was fake.
Feng Jiao entered the house and shut the door behind her, and in the face of poor old Gao Longwei. He had been abandoned, no- dumped, yet again. Sure, he was a frosty CEO, but frosty CEOs had feelings too.
This was abuse against frosty CEOs. They deserve love too.
While Feng Jiao probably believed they deserved love, she definitely wasn't thinking hard enough about it to consider giving them her love. Her love was a very rare commodity after all.
"Wow!" she exclaimed softly as she walked around the house.
It was fully furnished, and the closets had already been installed along with multiple electronic devices just sitting around. Feng Jiao had expected a bare shell of a home with absolutely nothing inside, so this was a rather pleasant surprise to her.
She went into the kitchen to take a look at what appliances were installed, and noticed that there was everything from a stove, to an oven, to even a toaster in there. She was extremely happy that she wasn't going to have to buy anything.
The whole house was beautifully done, in a classic modern style.
On top of that the house also had some pretty luxurious elements.
The roof for one, could be switched to a clear glass one, or a mirror one or just a plain one with just the click of a button on a little remote. This meant that Feng Jiao could stare out of the roof at night and look at the stars.
She opened the fridge and looked inside, just to check if there was something in there, and there wasn't. Not even a single bottle of water.
But then again, why would they sell her a house with a water bottle in it- that was simply unnecessary, and a waste of money, even to Feng Jiao.
She then walked into the bedroom.
The ceiling there too was a convertible one, and there was not much furniture except for a large bed, probably kingsized, an inbuilt cabinet, and a little bedside table with a lamp on it.
Feng Jiao plonked herself onto the bed and stared at how everything in the house seemed to be in neutral colors. She was someone who liked neutral colors too, but she decided she was going to buy some coral and pink decorations and bed sheets to make the place seem more like her house.
Her room in the agency was overwhelmed by these innumerous pink things that she had accumulated over the years. She could simply move those things to this house, one by one so as to not get caught moving.
It was a pretty great idea on paper, but the execution seemed iffy.
And to execute this, she would need some talent, but talent wasn't something Feng Jiao lacked.
If anything, she had too much of it.
Feng Jiao walked over to the door to inspect the garden when she realized something…
She had locked Gao Longwei outside without realizing, and he was still standing there, waiting for her. She suddenly felt a pang of guilt, and thus opened the door for him from the inside.
After all, he was the one who had helped her get this house.
"Would you like to come in for a cup of tea- I mean- water?" she stuttered shyly as she finally let him into the house.
