"This escalated rather quickly". Staring the pair down was a brown-haired boy with red eyes who continued to stand there unperturbed by the explosion of aura. "How vicious, this body is quite small but I wonder…oh?". Lost in his thoughts the beast like body of Abel's father had circled to his side and swung his gigantic arm at the brown-haired boy digging up the ground as he swung raking dirt and debris "That surprised me". The child was now perched on top of the man's large shoulders, who in response shook him off before blasting the child with a blast of aura from his mouth sent the small thing into the air.
The child in response held up his hands blocking the blast as it continued to push him up his body enveloped in the blackened aura as his eyes started to shine red and with a scream had dispersed the aura "I guess I'm not as strong as before ha-ha". He laughed as he gently landed on the floor careful inspecting his body for any wounds.
"Who are you?". Abel asked his voice low and calm completely unbothered by the enemy in front of him who seemed to be having a laughing fit as he dusted his shoulders off with a smile.
"Who am I?". Abel had appeared in front of the boy spinning his body around to add momentum to his swing.
"I remember that being the question". Quite contrary to his expectations the sword neither cut through nor did it do damage to his target whose hair had now turned jet black, stopping the blade with his bare hands.
"Five minutes". He flicked the blade upward as he readied his fist and buried it into the stomach of his aggressor who simply flew backwards and slammed into the ground "I can only last five minutes".
"You seem confident"
"Ho..." The boy was kicked like a pebble in the road and could feel the Impact in his bones as he flew through the air as he tried to balance himself when something rushed past him
.
"you're weak". He slammed his fist into the boy blasting him head first into the ground creating a cervix that made the earth rise up like a wave as it broke apart under his force "Pitifully so…where demi gods always this arrogant? How sad". He picked him up by the neck and continued to lash out at the boy punching and kicking him as he tried to dodge blocking the hits where he could but he was too slow.
"Weak?... me?". His five minutes has expired as a clawed hand scratched his left eye leaving a long deep mark on his face, he was kicked in the stomach "Sad...?." he spat blood from the force he was in pain, he was too slow and far too small his thoughts bounced around his mind as he was getting rag dolled by the duo memories replaying in his head with every strike. He lay there with his eyes closed and his body no longer moving as Abel approached him.
"Perish demi-god". Standing over his body Abel raised his blade for one last swing when the child's eyes shot open and he opened his mouth.
"Stop it!!!!!!". He roared and a blast of red aura shot from his mouth like a sound wave similar to what the beast man had done but much, much stronger and larger. The attack hit Abel square in the head and launched him upwards, though unharmed he was certainly confused. "How Dare You!!!!". His body erupted in a manner similar to what Abel had demonstrated before as his hair started to flicker between black and brown growling as his body twitched seemingly in pain.
"Ah?". Yet to touch the ground Abel could see a small had reaching for his face only to be grabbed at the wrist by a much larger arm which tossed him like a used cloth, Abel had no time to think as the little monster bounced back smacking his small figure into the beat like man knocking him into the distance as well as using him as a platform retuning to his original task, slamming Abel's head into the ground.
"You are not worthy". Abel summoned the sword to his side only for it to be swatted aside like how one would a fly that buzzed too close to one's ears "unworthy!!!!!!!". Releasing another blast at point blank range he created a massive crater in the ground and stood at the edge.
"It seems that is the extent of your power". Abel was now hovering above the crater with the blade in hand as it started to vibrate violently charging up with aura "Slash...?". His attack had been stopped but that was not what surprised him his aura was being absorbed and the child's body had started to grow the wound his father inflicted had healed turning into a scar, the person before him was now an adolescent his body saturated with the very aura he had attempted to use. His expression was cold and Abel could tell what his fate was the moment he looked into his eyes.
"Vertical…. slash". He swung his hand slicing the ground in two the heat from his attack melting everything in its path "…How loyal". Abel had been moved out of the way by the way by his father, and although unconscious his son was unharmed although he himself did have half his body vaporized by his attack it from the looks of it, he was still regenerating albeit slower than before.
The two stared at each other for a few seconds before the both vanished their clashes creating shockwaves as they crossed blows, punch for punch, kick for kick, dodge for dodge, the earth trembled rocks shattered and debris fired like bastions from their impacts it was a battle that would put heroes to shame, but alas even this child's heaven defying form couldn't last forever. With a knee to the chin, he was flung back as his body started to visibly shrink with blood trickling down his mouth however, he wasn't the only one running on fumes, James body had stopped regenerating and they both knew this last clash would be their last. "Come warrior". Performing one final lunge the two threw out their fists with all their might, the succeeding shockwave had covered their bodies making it difficult to see. Then out of the smoke a small figure had appeared clutching his arm with blood flowing down, his body was covered in bruises and his clothes were fit to be called rags, he walked up to the sword as he attempted to grasp it only for it to burn his hand. "Hah traitor, fine" he was laughing to himself finding the whole situation funny as he remained on the verge of fainting, shaking his head he fell to his knees "I... alone…am…. the strongest". He collapsed; peace had now returned to the land as a cool breeze swept over them.
Abel's sister had rushed to her brother's side after everything had settled with Abel having returned to his original form, much to her joy he was alive save for a few bruises and maybe broken bones, she put her hands over him as golden energy started to seep from her hands and the bruised areas healed, her attention had now turned to the boy who had fought her younger sibling and his condition was much worse though his wounds weren't threating she examined as she healed him and his expression became more relaxed. "What do I do now?" She thought to herself as the last of his wounds had healed and she just sat on the floor "where do I go? Dad and mom are gone…." her thoughts were interrupted by a rather off-putting feeling making her stand to her feet and look around "Who's there?".
She received no answer and only felt a slight breeze behind her, quickly turning around she found the boy had vanished leaving only a note and small coin purse where his body previously was leaving the little girl nothing less than puzzled.
Standing not too far off was someone with a fully covered body with the child in question in her arms un aware of what had happened in this place as she seemed to have arrived after the two had just concluded their battle, what conclusion she had drawn from all this it was impossible to know as she just observed the two with keen interest. "That should take care of them for a few years, at least until they can stand on their own. Now why don't I take you home my dearest little brother, although I will first have to make sure they actually make it to the destination I'm sending them to or my act of kindness would be pointless". She spoke mostly to herself seeing as how the other party wasn't conscious thus unable to hear or answer.
Vanessa carried her unconscious brother for a while until he woke up and they started to walk together, it was hard to tell how long they had been walking but being that they were children they had taken a lot of breaks, notwithstanding that these children are demi-gods, which meant they were much stronger compared to normal people, at least in some aspects as there were always exceptions or son vanessa had been told by her father both of them were starting to get hungry.
However, the fates seemed to have other plans for these lost and wandering children because a merchant cart was passing and the two children had sated their hunger and followed them, they asked for directions according to the note that had been left behind and had gotten some help, it did cost them something though one could say they didn't pay as much as the usual person would.
Now in the comfort of the carriage Vanessa had decided to re-read the note she had been left with it had told them to head to Delgrave and there they would search for the guild and ask for a man named Boreas and hand him the note, the instructions were simple but honestly the siblings were suspicious but they didn't really have a choice at this point, but that was only one part of the list of things happening with them right now, her brother could now summon a black sword it looked blunt and it seemed to have a mind of its own seeing how it didn't allow her to even so much as touch it, her brother also seemed to have inherited their fathers power, though to an obviously much greater degree but they would test that later.
It wasn't exactly the smoothest of journeys but they managed to get by and at the very least they didn't have to worry about testing out her brothers' powers as they had proved to be quite potent often making it easy to defend themselves. "Watching over these kids is so boring, why are we even doing this?". Someone complained, their body couldn't be seen but the voice made it clear that it was male.
"The captain made it very clear, orders are orders but if you feel it's too much to sit on your arse all day and do nothing feel free to go back to her, I'll gladly attend your funeral". A second voice responded and another person sighed one could assume this is what the person had meant by making sure they got to the location.
After what could only be weeks, they had arrived in Delgrave, after their arrival it wasn't hard to find the guild, entering it was as one would expect, rowdy although because of this no one paid any mind to the children as they approached the reception desk which was occupied by a large burly man with a beard, he had seen the two enter and was a little curious "How may I help you little ones?". Unlike his appearance the man seemed to be rather mild mannered.
"Um we are looking for a man named Boreas?". The man at the desk raised an eyebrow and asked who had sent the two and they handed the letter over to him, he proceeded to sniff the paper before snapping his fingers and lighting it on fire for a few seconds before giving it another look and clicking his tongue and putting a small smile on his face turning around and waving at them.
"Follow me kids, oh and welcome to the family".
