Chapter 11 - Begin

Jaime's P.O.V

I was feeling nauseated from the idea of not knowing what will John do once he finds out about this. "Who are you?" I froze in my seat hearing Violet's voice.

Shit! She's awake.

I sat up properly watching like a hawk at the two. Violet moved away from his arms and sat on the chair's armrest now looking at Paine dead in the eye. He looked at me asking for permission if can say his identity to our sister. My eye color changed as if warning him of the consequences he'll face if he answered the question.

But is it truly wrong to not tell Violet about him? I mean, there are still others who she doesn't know about.

Oh, but what they did.

I cannot just let him back in that easily. We all made sacrifices in order to get her back. I'm sorry brother but like you, I don't want to lose her again.

Shaking my head no, Paine wore a disheartened look. He looked back at Violet and just gave her a sad smile. "I'm just a ninja. Your shadow that stays by your side in the light.", he replied with a soft smile assuring her that he was harmless.

Violet laughed at his reply. She leaned forward moving closer to Paine gazing at his eyes. The shithead blushed at her action.

Hey, that's our sister ya fucker! Get a grip!

A low growl resounded inside the room while I continued to stare at them. My golden eyes glowed as I scowled at his facial reaction and the beat of his heart I can clearly hear.

"I know who you are.", we both felt paralyzed. "What?"

Our baby sister turned her head to look at me. "Isn't he the guy in the forest?"

"No.", Paine whispered in a low tone. "But you look the same. You have the same eye color."

Violet's P.O.V

In my dreams, I kept hearing a voice crying. The place was pitch black and it seemed as if I was trapped inside a scary place. Only a white glow of light can be seen in the distance. I ran to the spot trying to get away from the darkness. "We are one. Don't be scared.", A voice bellowed from above. "Where am I?", the voice laughed at my question.

"Do you want to see a memory?", the loud voice replied. "A memory?" My surroundings abruptly changed into a garden scenery. A large lake in the middle with several enormous trees surrounding it, bearing green and white leaves. The images making my head throb painfully.

"I know this place. I've been here before.", I whispered as a strong breeze hit me. A familiar scent led my feet to a large willow tree by the lake. I held my hand up to touch its leaves that met with my hands and wrapped around my arm as if welcoming me home.

"Mommy.", I whispered breaking into a fit of tears.

"Hush now. There is more to this memory.", the voice cooed, now sounding more like a grandma.

Just then, a lady emerged from the lake wearing a long white dress, red lace embroidered on the ends, and black silk that flows along her arms.

Even though she came from the water, her dress and body were not wet. The lady was about to turn to allow me to take a peek at her face but my surroundings start to fade away like ashes, the final image I have is when she was shot by an arrow in her chest.

I have plunged into darkness once again, only this time a light was glowing from my body. "Will you accept us?" The voice sounding multiple as if it was that of two women.

The darkness manifested into a sort of slimy texture, enveloping my arms and slowly flowing through my skin being absorbed inside my chest. It didn't feel scary at all. It felt warm like a tight embrace.

I nodded and looked up. A woman was on top of me floating in mid-air, her face was covered with the same black silk I saw earlier but this one had white pearls and lace adorning it. She placed a kiss on the top of my head and placed her forehead against mine.

The darkness along with the black smudge is quickly absorbed by my body turning my skin into pure black. I shivered feeling scared that I'll disappear into the shadows. "Don't be afraid. Look at your hands.", the voice warmly whispered as she held my hands up for me to see. The light glowing on my body didn't disappear and instead seemed like I was glowing even brighter.

"Light will always have the darkness as its counterpart. It is up to you which one you'll embrace.", the woman cupped both my cheeks. "Our time is up. You need to go back.", after kissing my forehead one last time, she turned her back to me as her hands start to disappear into the darkness.

"Will I see you again?", I asked. She looked at me from the side where the silk floated up revealing her eye. "Of course.", she replied before everything faded away.

"Red," I muttered.

I woke up from my deep sleep in the arms of a crying guy. The man who saw me kill that woman. "Who are you?", my words causing him to stop abrupt and stiffened when he heard my question. I sat upright on the comfy armrest.

Leaning closer to inspect his face I noticed that his eyes were half red on the top.

Red eyes.

"I know who you are.", remembering the boy from the forest. I did not get to see his full face but I know he had red eyes and curly hair just like this guy.

"What?", I turned to look where a familiar voice came from. There sat my big brother Jaime, looking at me with wide eyes.

Oh no! Brother is here! Did he call him? Does he know that I killed the woman?

Trying to calm myself, praying that if I compose myself, maybe he won't scold or get mad at me for still being awake at night and entering the door.

"Isn't he the guy in the forest?", I asked curiously.

"No.", he stated in a low scary tone. "But you look the same. You have the same eye color.", I leaned closer cupping his cheeks.

All of a sudden, the guy covered my eyes with his palm and said words I can't understand. I tried pulling at his hand and only got to see his red eyes and a mist surrounding him before drifting off to sleep again.

Paine's P.O.V.

Falling on my chest, I hugged Violet one last time before standing up and handing her over to Jaime. "You're right. It's best that she does not know who I am yet. Especially now that she saw both of our red eyes. The memories might come back and she'll hate me.", I hugged my arms.

"Better tell her it was all a dream. This madness is what got us into this whole fucked up mess in the first place."

Jaime nodded, patting my shoulder before exiting the room, locking the room behind him. A sleeping Violet was the last image I saw as I took one last glimpse.

My body felt hot. "Shit!"

I moved myself to lay down on the sofa and hugged the pillow that has her scent. "Shit no!". My body ached having these mental images of the past stuck inside my head. Images of the past of when we first met at the balls held for introduction. The way her long hair was adorned by flowers and pearls, oh how I dreamed to pull on that hair and just take her to the edge.

"I can't be near her. Not now. Not ever.", my jaw clenched wiping the sweat from my face. "Her scent was still the same as before. Oh Violet we met too early.", I licked my bottom lip and touched my shoulder where a large scar is located. A wound I got from my only love.

"She… She's not. Your Love. Not. Your-"

Shut up! Mine. She's mine!

"No… NO! She's your sister!", I screamed clutching the backrest of the sofa. "Fuck! You fuck-", my words cut off as my body was suddenly pushed against the cold cement wall of my office. The impact nonexistant as does the pain but I could still feel the cold.

Leaning my head against the wall, I could see my reflection on the mirrors in my space. My face a mess from the tears earlier and my eyes pure red.

My eyes won't turn back. I need to let this go, my mind reeled of ideas to appease my sanity for the mean time. Then I remembered the body she mutilated. "She only destroyed the face right?", laughing out loud I stood up from the couch and went to the room where the body was.

Good. It's all still intact and unharmed. It's a shame though that I would not be able to see her face begging for mercy.

I pulled the trolley to my side. Ripping her clothes off, I took a scalpel from the tray and sliced it in between her breasts down to her belly button. Taking the finechietto retractor or the rib spreader from the trolley which I will now use to pry her chest cavity open. Her lungs and diaphragm were now exposed. I dug my hands inside slowly and gently to where her heart is. Grabbing it in my palm I sliced off its attachments and carefully pulled it off the body.

"Yummy.", my voice hinted with slight bitterness and subtle bit of sarcasm as I turn to look at my reflection on the steel cabinets.
