Chapter 18 - Darkness (A short interlude into madness)

START OF AUTHOR'S NOTE

=================================================

AUTHOR'S NOTE: The following chapter is gratuitous torment and gore. If you can't handle such things, SKIP THIS CHAPTER!! As the synopsis for this story warned, not everything in here is going to be rainbows and snuggle bunnies. You were warned first in the synopsis. Then warned again in a previous chapter. And now warned again here. I'm not adding any more warnings after this — if you haven't figured out what type of tale this is after reading 30k words, or half a book's worth, then you'll never figure it out.

Life is sometimes dark and twisted. Stories should reflect that sometimes too!

And, for those that are wondering, *I'm* not a psychotic lunatic. I'm just writing about one!

The moment Davy unlocked his door and stepped in his cramped little home, he knew something was wrong. It was too dark inside, and Davy was a creature of light. By spending all day working as a tour guide for a dark set of caverns where light never reached, he *always* kept a couple of lights on at home. Just as his mind was wondering if his power was out…

"ZZZZTTTTZZZZZTTH!!" Several million volts of power slammed into Davy's chest, causing his whole body to tremble from head to toe for several seconds before total darkness descended on his mind.

"Mine. Mine. All mine now!" Slowly hobbling past Davy's unconscious form, the intruder calmly shut the door leading outside and locked it. "Not much time. Notmuchtime. Notmuchtime," the intruder muttered maniacally as he bent down and began slicing the clothes off Davy with a small straight razor, not caring if he nicked or sliced Davy at all.

"Gaggy.Gaggy.Gag!" Shoving several pairs of old socks in Davy's mouth, the intruder grabbed a roll of duct tape and wrapped it several times around Davy's mouth to hold them in place.

"Breaky.Break.BREAK!" Just as Davy was starting to groggily recover from the effects of being tasered, the intruder leaned back and forcefully slammed a large sledgehammer against Davy's right elbow, causing it to making a sickening "SPLOPP" sound as the whole joint collapsed and shattered under the impact.

"GAAAHHHH!!" White pain coursed though Davy's awareness as he struggled to roll and escape the blazing agony that assaulted him. 'Who was it? What was happening? Why wasn't he strong enough to resist yet again?" A thousand thoughts raced through Davy's mind as his assailant brought the sledgehammer down time after time, targeting only his extremities.

A crack to the leg! The hip! An arm! His foot! His other foot! "GAAAAHHHHHGGHH!!" Davy's frantic attempt at escape was growing feebler moment by moment. Blood was beginning to spray and splatter in ribbons all across his tiny home.

"Hah hahaha hahahahaha!" Cackling gleefully, Brock rained down his wrath and madness upon Davy unceasingly. "Yourfaultyourfaultyourfault," he muttered madly, blaming Davy for his arrest, imprisonment, and subsequent rape and neutering at the hands of some of the prisoners.

"Youdidityoudidityoudidit! YOU! DID! IT!! Kekekekekekeke! You did it," Brock leaned down, staring directly into Davy's pain-filled eyes. "You did it," Brock repeated softly — almost lovingly. "And he… hehehehehehehe… HE did too!" Giggling incoherently, Brock tossed the sledgehammer onto the couch and reached for the cordless drill he'd found earlier. After all, there was still plenty of time left for him to *play* with someone as large and healthy as Davy!

It's just a shame Davy's wish made him invulnerable to bullies and not murderers…
