The day ended with you all having to cook your own dinner. Much to your luck, no one asked you about your interaction with Tiger. You were pretty sure Aizawa threatened their life's.
You laughed as Bakugo blew up an oven. Cooking with your classmates ended up to be fun in the end. The food tasted questionable but you all were so hungry you didn't care.
The next day you trained with Aizawa, since none of the pussycats wanted to work with you which you expected. The third day you worked with Shoto to improve your water quirk and him his fire quirk. On day four you worked with Kaminari for both your lightening quirks.
Your muscles were tense on day five. You stood in front a lake with Tiger behind you, your heart pounded in your chest. You were supposed to pick up small beads of water and control them, but all you could focus on was not getting stabbed in the back. Aizawa did swing by every so often to check on your progress, or to keep an eye on Tiger.
"Come on!" Tiger annoyingly lectured. "You can't pick up a few measly pieces of water!? How do you ever expect to go plus ultra with this attitude!?"
"Yeah...I'm not really into that plus ultra-stuff." You replied, turning to him. You weren't even sure you could become a true hero.
"I am surprised to see you have weakened in the years since I have last seen you!" Tiger pushed.
"Water is hard." You replied.
"It's just a few pieces of water!"
"Which is why it's hard." You snapped. "Large bodies of water are easy, small pieces are stupid."
"If you were still under Shadow Jack, what would he do?" Tiger questioned; your shoulder muscles tensed just then. You could feel a dark presence reach out, grazing your back as you fought ignore the feeling.
"I know you are just trying to get a reaction outta me-" You say, watching him bounce around the area. "-but with all due respect, shut the fuck up."
"I know you have more than just that!" Tiger mocked, "Where is that tenacity when you and that loose cannon attacked me huh!?"
"I said shut up." You warned, your chest tightened at the mention of Shiro.
"Or what-!?" Tiger laughed, "- you'll kill me? You couldn't kill me then, what makes you think you can even take me on without that nut job watching your back!?"
"Shut the fuck up!" You snapped; anger boiled your blood as your eyes locked onto Tiger, the water inside the pond behind you stirred awake. "Don't fucking bring his name up!"
"Which one?" Tiger pressed, "Shadow Jack, or the guy you tried to kill my family with."
Fucking both!
You could feel your scars burning from the past leaking into your sight. You felt them reach out trying to pull you down under water, you felt yourself beginning to drown inside Tiger's words.
Your fists balled together; your head throbbed in pain at the unwanted memories plaguing you.
"Shut up!" You through your hands up, water rushing towards Tiger, before he could get out of the way his entire body was encased in solid ice, the ground rumbled in protest. Aizawa turned from watching Shoto and Bakugo feeling the ground rock.
"Shit." He breathed, before bolting towards the pond with an audience on his trail.
"You were already told we had no choice! I get it, it was scary, you almost died but you didn't and you still can't let it go! You stand there and act like you're the only victim from that night-!" You yelled, "-you have no idea the consequences we walked into!"
"What?" Tiger grunted struggling against the ice. "Did you lose some TV time?"
"My brother died the night I failed to kill you!" You finally snapped, leaking your trauma all over the place for all to see.
"Wh-Wha-?" Tiger breathed; his sweat grew cold as Aizawa ran onto the sight, looking from you to Tiger then to the other pussycats who were right behind him. They were clearly going to think you were in the wrong and possibly go to attack you.
"I watched Shadow Jack hold him down and filet him alive-" You stepped closer to Tiger, not even hearing Aizawa and everyone else come onto the scene. Your voice shut down any questions that were about to be thrown out. "-so why you're over there laughing about that day so freely, I was forced that very night to be the one to clean up my brother's blood. I had to burn his body with my own quirk while Shadow Jack held Shiro at gun point-!" Your eyes teared up;
"I-"
"We didn't want to be here." You shook your head a tear fell down your face. "We didn't have a choice; it was either you or him...but I couldn't...I couldn't take Ragdoll or your life and my brother was the one who paid the price."
"(y/n)-" Aizawa stepped forward, you quickly wiped your face free of the evidence.
"He is KO'd-" You pointed out Tigers incapacity to move. "-what is the next test?"
"(y/n), I think you should-"
"I'll show you." Mandalay offered, seeing how close you were to breaking all over the place. You kept your eyes low, Bakugo watched you leave.
"Why would you bring up that time in her life again!?" Pixie-Bob lectured.
"I-I was just trying to get a rise outta her." Tiger defended.
"Well, you got one alright!" Pixie-Bob sighed, "Eraser Head, I am so sorry-" Aizawa didn't care enough to listen to any explanation they had prepared. He turned and followed you.
You were standing on the other side of camp, using your earth quirk to make moving targets for some of the members of Class B.
"(y/n)." Aizawa acknowledged you.
"I'm sorry-" You replied after a moment. "-I lost control and I shouldn't have."
"I think this one time it is understandable. I wasn't aware you had siblings."
"Two."
"The second one is..."
"Dead." You didn't turn to look at him. "Shared the same fate as my brother."
"I'm sorry-"
"I don't want to hear it." You breathed, "I don't want to see the pity in your face, or hear it...I just...want to for forget it."
"You can't forget them (y/n)."
"I know I can't." You whispered, "I see them all the time."
"You do?"
"I see her-" You closed your eyes, recalling the faint outline of your sister. "-in the clouds, I can feel her in a warm breeze. I hear him in the rain..." You turned to you teacher; your eyes filled with tears threatening to spill over. "...I am what killed them."
"No." Aizawa stepped up, wrapping his arms around you. "You are not what killed them, that man is. Their deaths are not on you."
"They are." You repeated, tears dripped down your face.
"No." Aizawa stated again, "It is not fair to put that much guilt onto one person, your siblings-"
"You don't know-" You breathed, feeling Aizawa's warm soaking through his shirt. "-anything about them."
"If they are anything like you-"
"They weren't." You whispered.
"What do you mean-"
"When I couldn't take a life, it angered Shadow Jack-" You looked up into Aizawa's confused eyes. "-because my siblings were naturals at it."
"They-They..." Aizawa's eyes widened, expressing his shock.
"I still loved them though." Your face twisted in pain, "I knew I shouldn't...they loved it-" You closed your eyes as another tear fell from your face. "-they thought of it as a game. They hurt innocent people, but even then...I was still happy to see them when they snuck to my cage late at night."
"They weren't held-?"
"Why would they need to be?" You asked, "They willingly did what he told them to do."
"(y/n) ...none of this is on you-"
"Then why would my brother say it was?"
"He-"
"He died screaming, screaming at me...asking why I couldn't just do what I was trained to do...after that night my sister wouldn't even look at me. When Shadow Jack came for her, she tried to kill me first."
"Did you..." Aizawa dared to ask.
"I didn't fight back." You answered, "I wanted her to kill me, but Shadow Jack got to her in time to stop her from slicing my throat."
"(y/n) ..."
"I watched him pull her apart...I can still hear her screams...blaming me for killing our family."
Aizawa didn't have any words to offer, he just hugged you tighter, as if that could keep all your pain away. For the first time in a while, Aizawa wished All Might was here. He could maybe shed some light into your life, but for now all he had was himself. So, he rested his chin onto your head as he allowed you to break in his arms.
