You opened your eyes in time to watch Cementos and Midnight began to end the match between Midoriya, and Shoto. Your face felt warm, you slowly lifted your head but froze seeing you were leaning against Bakugo, who slowly looked down at you with a blank stare on his face.
"What did I miss?" You wondered slowly sitting up.
"They are going to kill each other!" Ochaco cried out.
"Exciting." You replied leaning back in your seat, a deep chuckle rang in your ear. Looking over at Bakugo you could have sworn it came from him, but he appeared to be ignoring you.
"What!?" He snapped feeling your gaze. "What the hell are you looking at!?"
"Thank you for not waking me up." You flashed a smile, shocking Bakugo.
"Well-" He said looking away from you, hiding a light blush on his face. "-I want to beat you when you're at your strongest so...shut up about it!"
You watched the light show between Midoriya and Shoto and the teachers were losing control. As the two students collided a shock wave was sent out into the stands.
You had to shut your eyes due to the stinging pain. The wind felt like needles against your skin as you shield your face, after a second a warmth you didn't recognize covered your body and the pain was lifted. You opened your eyes to see Bakugo had covered you with his body blocking you from the blast.
"Bakugo..."
"This is crazy!" Your classmates behind you called, Mineta went flying.
"What is happening down there!?" Momo called as she took over behind the seats.
"What happened just now?" President Mic called after the shock wave deceased. "What the heck is up with your students!?"
After the smoke cleared, you could see Midoriya falling against the wall.
"There-!" Midnight breathed, "- Midoriya is...out of bounds, Todoroki advances to the next round!"
After more matches concluded, and more people were dropped out of the competition you groaned.
"Well-" You stood, "-looks like I'm next." You go to walk away but Bakugo stops you from leaving.
"Hey dumbass-" He called, turning you to him. "-you better not get your ass kicked out there-" Bakugo glares, "-I want to be the one to beat you!"
"Yeah-Yeah." You waved him off.
"Hey!" Bakugo shouted, "Don't brush me off like I am a damn extra!"
"In my world-" You looked over your shoulder to him, "-you are." You smirked at his stunned face, using this chance to slip away and get to your waiting room.
"GET BACK HERE YOU-!" Bakugo's voice rocked the stadium. You laughed at yourself, finding the correct room you had to wait in.
You opened the door, your smile dropped seeing his long hair.
"(y/n)." Aizawa nodded to you.
"Mr. Aizawa?" You said, "Is everything ok? Why are you down from the-?"
"I figured-" Aizawa sighed "-you should get some words of encouragement before you go out there."
"All Might's really not happy I am here." You sighed.
"True." Aizawa nodded, "I can understand why-" He said, "-but I can also understand why you wanted to compete."
"You do?"
Aizawa nodded, "I didn't announce your past in front of everyone for my benefit." Aizawa leaned against the table.
"If you didn't announce it to one up Vlad King then why-?"
"For you-" Aizawa said, "-everyone looked at you like you were weak and easily over look able. I saw how that weighted on you so I let some information...slip."
"Aizawa..." You breathed, he chuckled kicking himself off the table walking over to you, your eyes widened as he wrapped his arms around you.
"I'm proud of you kid." Aizawa said, tears pressed against your eyes hearing those foreign words. "Your being held down but still dominating the competition. I know All Might is being difficult right now but he will come around. I have no doubt in my mind that he is as proud of you as I am."
"Mr. Aizawa-" You went to say but then heard:
"Um..." President Mic's voice rang through the mics, "...where is she?"
"You better get going-" Aizawa said, "-you have a match to win."
"I-I..." You smiled, "...thank you."
"I'm always in your corner." Aizawa flashed a small smile before you spun on your heel with some of the pressure off your chest as your jogged towards the arena's entrance.
"There you are!" Midnight called spotting you, "What on earth-!?"
"Sorry!" You waved to her, quickly making your way onto the ring.
"Whew!" Mina breathed, leaning back in her chair. "I thought something was wrong!"
"I wonder what delayed her?" Asui pondered, Bakugo sat with his arms across his chest as his eyes narrowed onto you.
You better not be late for their match.
"Now for the last match before the grand finally!" President Mic hyped, "Shoto Todoroki from the Hero Course Class 1-A, as well as another Hero Course student from Class 1-A, (y/n) (l/n)!"
You took a deep breath, trying to steady your rippling emotions.
"Ready-!?" President Mic didn't care if you were or weren't. "-Begin!"
You and Shoto glanced at each other for a long second.
"I'm sorry (y/n) -" Shoto said, stepping into a defensive stance, "-my dad is watching, I can't hold back with you."
So are mine...
Your eyes widened hearing a small voice in the back of your head whisper as All Might and Aizawa's faces flashed through your mind.
"I caught some of your match with Midoriya-" You call shaking your head clear, "-things got a little emotional, did they?"
"The fool gave up his chance to win in order to break down my walls."
"Really now?" You asked, "Well don't expect that with me-" You smirked, "-I don't do emotions very well."
Shoto shot a wall of ice your way, you easily blocked it with a wall of your own.
"That won't work on me." You half mocked.
"Oh-!" President Mic sang out, "-it's a battle of fire and ice! Who will win!?"
"I will use this power and make it my own!" Shoto stared at his hand.
"Good for you." You called,
"Since my father is watching I have to-"
"Oh my God-!" You through your head back, "-you think you're the only one here with daddy issues!?" You snapped, "News flash princess, you're not that special!"
"Ooo-" President sang; "-I like her!"
"You wouldn't understand-" Shoto tossed his head to the side like he was the star of a sitcom.
"Oh, I wouldn't understand drama queen-?" You darkly laughed, "-my father sold me to Shadow Jack-" The stands went dead silent as another piece of your past was revealed, "-don't come at me like you have worst back story of all time. I can promise you there is always someone out there who has it worse than you."
All Might's mouth dropped open while he sat in the facility section.
You had never spoken about your parents before now, All Might's stomach twisted at the thought of a father selling his six-year-old daughter to a villain organization.
How low of a bottom feeder would a person have to be to do such a horrendous thing!?
"I-I had no idea-" Shoto mumbled,
"Why would you?" You wondered, "I don't make my shitty parents my entire personality like you do. Cool, you have a shitty dad, what else you got?"
"Damn." Kirishima couldn't believe how you called Shoto out on live TV!
"And while we are on the topic-" You assertively walked towards Shoto, "-if you are going to declare war against anybody to be quote 'number one' you should do it on the trained killer that sits in your classroom!"
"Wha-!?" Shoto took a step back watching fire ignite in both your arms.
"I didn't mind not being seen as a threat when I first got here-" You called, shooting a ball of flame at Shoto who dodge it. "-recovery and all but now it's just annoying."
'I really pissed her off.' Shoto thought, seeing the glare glowing in your eyes. Shoto raised his hand, letting the flames roll off his fingertips blasting them in your direction.
"(y/n)!" Your class mates stood, seeing you made no effort to move out of the way.
"That's cute-" Your voice dropped into a deadly low tone, once the flames died down you were left standing untouched, "-now let me show you what real fire is." You raised both your hands, shooting fire towards the half and half boy. Your fire twisted from red into blue.
"What!?" People around the stands all gasped.
"The blue piece of the flame burns the hottest." Tokoyami nodded his head.
"That's-!" Kirishima breathed, "-that's a whole new level of crazy!"
"I guess it all makes sense." Ida said.
"What does?" Jiro wondered, turning from your match to look at the class rep.
"Our class, me included all overlooked (y/n). Her taking it easy and being injured made us believe she wasn't a threat." Ida explained, "But she is right, she is a trained killer with multiple quirks at her disposal, she is a force to be reckoned with."
Bakugo turned to look back at you, he was itching to get down in that ring with you and see what you were really made of!
Shoto gasped, sweat coating his body as he jumped one of your attacks. He had only ever seen blue fire one other time in his life: his deceased brother. Seeing your fire quirk at this level only proved to Shoto and the rest of the school, you were no joke to be taken lightly.
Shoto bounced and ducked the waves of fire and ice you sent dancing his way. If you sent ice he melted it with his flames, if he sent fire, you blocked it with your own.
Shoto shot another glacier of ice, hoping to trap you in an ice prison. People screamed at the close encounter as the ice nearly didn't stop at the stands.
"Cute-" You called, standing behind Shoto who spun around in shock. You round house kicked him, sending him flying backwards. "-are you a one trick pony?"
"H-How did you-?"
"Get around the same trick you used in your first fight?" You laughed, "How could I not see it coming?"
"Wh-What are you?" Shoto breathed, feeling exhausted from the usage of his quirk. How were you still standing!?
"Did I warn you-?" You called out,
"Wh-What?" Shoto breathed.
"I was going to knock you down a few pegs." You reminded. "How about we get this show on the road?" You said, stomping your foot on the ground, letting ice coat the area.
"What good was that?" Sero wondered, "She hella missed him."
Before anyone could question your move, ice flew from the frosted ground.
"Sh-She can control the actual ice she makes!?" Mina gasped.
"She keeps getting more and more interesting." Tokoyami commented.
Shoto and you danced around the arena, both using fire and ice in different ways.
Shoto wrapped ice around you, seemingly blocking you in. His fire side igniting flames fanning off his skin as he held his arm out. You reached your arm out as well but instead of fire or ice like Shoto predicted you to do, a deep purple lightning flew from your fingers,
"What!?" Your class gasped, rising to their feet.
All Shoto could do was watch as your ice flew up from the ground acting as walls keeping him in place.
"Ah!" Shoto took the full force of your attack. He flew backwards, smashing through your wall of ice.
"Shoto is out of bounds!" Midnight announced, "(y/n) advances on to the final round!'
"Yes!" People cheered.
Bakugo held a malicious smile as you were declared the winner. Finally, he was going to have his shot at taking you down!
"We are going to take an hour break to reset the stage and give young (y/n) here a chance to catch her breath!" President Mic announced, All Might jumped from his seat and ran.
Bakugo grinned, he didn't care he had to wait another hour, if that meant you would be at full strength he would wait.
You were taken to Recovery Girl to get a small dose of her quirk while you rested for an hour.
"How are you feeling?" A voice came from the door, you lazily turned your head,
"Dr. Shuzenji!" You smiled wide as she walked in. "What are you doing here!?"
"How could I not come and support my favorite patient?" Your doctor smiled before turning to her mother. "How is she?"
"Oh, a little rest and she will be good to go." Recovery Girl waved.
"I must say (y/n)-" Dr. Shuzenji breathed, "that match was..." She trailed off.
"Too much?" You wondered, questioning if you should have used your lightning against Shoto like you did. You allowed your emotions to get in the way.
Rookie mistake.
"I can' believe the extents of your quirks!" Dr. Shuzenji laughed, "I had no idea you could control the temperature of your fire! Or that you had a lightning quirk!"
"Yeah well..." You awkwardly chuckled, "...I am full of surprises."
"I'll say, that must have taken a lot of out of."
"I'll be alright." You shrugged. "Like recovery girl said, I just need rest."
"Hm." Dr. Shuzenji sighed, "I wished you had more time to recover before going up against Katsuki Bakugo."
"I'll be ok." You smirked.
"Bakugo is not going to be an easy opponent." Recovery Girl warned.
"I'm well aware." You laughed. "I know how talented he is, you forget I was stuck on the sidelines for months watching my class train."
"You observed them." Recovery Girl realizes.
"Of course." You smiled as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Dr. Shuzenji was about to go on talking when there was a knock on the door.
"(y/n) (l/n)?" A dressed man in a police uniform questioned.
"Uh...can I help you?" You responded.
"Eizo Tanuma?" Dr. Shuzenji called," What are you doing here?"
"What should have been done months ago." He announced, "(y/n) (l/n) you are under arrest!"
"What!?" The two medical quirk users gasped, watching a team of officers come trotting in dressed in SWAT gear. "You can't be serious!"
"She is a criminal." Eizo said, "She belongs behind bars!"
"She is just a kid!"
"I know you saw what I saw during her match against Shoto Todoroki, she is dangerous."
"She hasn't hurt anyone!" Recovery Girl defended, feeling sick as she watched you get pulled off your bed, slammed onto your knees as your arms were forcefully handcuffed behind your back.
"Get those off her!"
"We have proof she has killed hundreds of people." Eizo said,
"She hasn't hurt anyone since she has been under our care!" Recovery Girl corrected.
"It's too late-"
"But those people were the real criminals!" Dr. Shuzenji snapped, "Stop!" She yelled watching them put a muzzle around your mouth.
"If you get in the way I'll have both of you arrested as well." Eizo threatened.
"This will not stand!" Recovery Girl declared pulling her phone out to call Mr. Principle.
"It's already done." Eizo nodded to his boys, they lifted you to your feet.
You didn't fight back; you knew it would be pointless.
You glanced over your shoulder, pain tingled at the bottom of your heart, pushing tears into your eyes as you were dragged away to a place you knew you deserved: a cell.
