Chereads / Burn Me (Bakugo x Reader) / Chapter 27 - Chapter Twenty Six

Chapter 27 - Chapter Twenty Six

"Morning." Aizawa groggily called out, slowly walking into the classroom.

Class 1-A were already leaning in their seats, waiting desperately for an update on you.

Once they saw Aizawa was not going to say anything they already didn't know, they all sighed leaning back in their seats disappointed.

"We have a big class today-" Aizawa said, "-on Hero Informatics."

"Ugh!" Kaminari threw his head back. "Please tell me it's not a pop quiz!"

"Crap-!" Kirishima groaned, "I bet it's about hero laws, I'm so bad at those!"

"You need code names-" Aizawa said, "-time to pick your hero names."

"Oh!" Mina jumped; "-this is gonna be fun!"

Midnight walked in, a smile on her face as she looked out onto the class.

"What you pick today could be your code name for life!" Midnight went on to explain.

"Midnight is here to have final say over your names since it's not my forte." Aizawa crawled into his sleeping bag allowing Midnight to take over the class.

After passing out boards to draw on the class was left alone to figure out what they wanted to be known as.

Mina glanced behind her, at your empty desk.

"I wonder what (y/n) would have picked..." Mina said out loud, killing the small joy buzzing around the classroom.

Midnight and Aizawa glanced at each other, then to the clock.

"Probably something cool." Jiro sighed, "Everything she did seemed so cool and collected."

"Yeah." Ochaco agreed. "She probably wouldn't even have to give it a second thought, she would just know."

"That does sound like her..." Midoriya commented looking at his blank board.

"Now class-" Midnight stepped in, "-who is ready to share what they came up with?"

"We-We have to present these!?"

"Yes" Midnight nodded.

Aoyama was the first to jump up.

Midnight approved his name after a few adjustments.

"Who is next!?" Midnight tried to get the students back to being excited, but they never truly bounced back. They kept glancing at your desk and replaying the video they watched of you at the prison in their heads on a painful loop.

Mina breathed through her nose, if you were here, she could run her names by you and know you would be open about them.

"I'll go next." Asui offered, picking out the name 'Froppy' passed by Midnight.

Kirishima was about to raise his hand, after scooping up the courage but as it lifted his arm in the air, just then the classroom door opened.

Mouths dropped upon seeing you standing in the doorway.

"Uh, (y/n) -" Midnight muttered, having known you were released in the dead of night she was still taken back by you.

"Sorry I'm late-" You muttered, turning to see your class was gaping at your appearance. Your left eye had a crescent moon shape bruise around it and your bottom lip was busted open.

"(y-y/n)?" Mina stood, tears in her eyes as she practically jumped in your arms.

"I-I am still sore." You quickly replied, sharp pains erupted in your abdomen from the tight contact.

"Oh-!" Mina quickly backed away, "-I am so sorry, are you ok!?"

"Yeah-"

"What happened!?" The classes demanded to know, a few students getting up from their seats to get a closer look at you.

"How did you get out!?"

"Are you ok!?"

"We saw a video of you getting pummeled by the warden!" Mineta added on the tail end of the whirlwind of questions earning glares and a kick from Mina.

"I am fine-" You started, "-I got out last night, thanks to UA and the chief of police things got sorted out."

"Th-That's it!?" Kirishima gushed,

"Pretty much." You shrugged.

"You-You were in prison!" Sero joined, "What-How-Why are you even here right now!?"

"I think what Sero is trying to say-" Shoto stepped in, "-is shouldn't you be recovering right now?"

"I will." You nodded.

"Yes." Aizawa butted in, "(y/n) has been banned from any physical activity."

"Really?"

"Until her doctor clears her, yes."

"Oh my-" Ochaco jumped, "-you're out just in time for internships! Aren't you so excited!?"

"Well..." You trailed off scratching the back of your head.

"(y/n) is not authorized to attend any internship." Midnight stepped into the conversation feeling left out.

"Wait...seriously!?" Midoriya gasped,

"Yeah." You nodded,

"Why!?"

"Well with (y/n)'s old wounds still healing, and on top of the ones she received while in jail-" Midnight said, "-it just wouldn't be responsible on our part if we kept allowing her to prevent from healing."

"Plus, the broken rib kind of makes it hard to fight close combat." Aizawa added, wanting the class to know how injured you really were, so if the teachers weren't around, they would keep you at bay.

"B-Broken rib!?"

"It's really not as bad as it sounds." You laughed at the worried faces.

"It's a broken bone!" Mina yelled, "And I hugged you-!" You rolled your eyes, moving through the crowd to sit at your desk Bakugo stood, blocking your way.

"Yeah?" You asked looking up at him.

"I don't care if the Sports Festival is over-" Bakugo glared down at you, "-the real winner hasn't been decided yet. The second you are healed; we are fighting one on one until one of us can't stand! Only then will I accept the champion title!"

You and Bakugo stared at each other, he took his moment to study your bruised face, your busted lip and the closer he looked the more bruises he saw.

Like the one around your neck shaped in that of hands.

You were brushing off like you didn't have a rough time inside that prison, but the truth was it was a living hell.

"Deal-" You agreed, "-but when I kick your ass, I want the shiny metal." You smirked, watching Bakugo get fired up.

"Deal." He agreed, you two shook hands.

"That was.... weird...right?" Mina whispered to Asui.

"No, it defiantly was." She nodded,

"So catch me up-" You called turning the attention off you and Bakugo. "-what are we doing?"

"Oh!" Mina hopped on her feet, "We are picking out our hero names-!"

"Speaking of which-" Midnight said, "-now that you have a week of free time (y/n), we need your packet turned in."

"Yeah..." You groaned.

"What do you want your name to be (y/n)!?" Mina's heart was beating so fast, she was so happy to see you!

"Mmm...I never thought about it." You answered,

"Well, you are now!" Ochaco laughed,

"I guess..." You trailed off, "...(HERO NAME)."

"What!?" Mina gasped, instantly loving it. "You just came up with that!?"

"It's perfect!" Midnight praised, "It goes so well with your quirks-"

"Hey!" Kaminari perked up, "How come you never told us you had lightning as a quirk!?"

"Why do you care?" You wondered,

"Because-"

"Worried I'm better at it than you?" You flashed a smirk, Kaminari blushed.

"We-Well-" Kaminari stuttered as his face became flush. "-we-we could like train together and stuff..."

"Sure." You chuckled,

"Alright everyone-" Midnight called out, "-get back to thinking hard about your hero names!"

You yawned gazing around the classroom as everyone muttered, your lower jaw was sore as you turned back to Mina who had moved to sit by you.

"Mm..." She groaned, "...I don't know!" She whined.

"Know what?" You smirked seeing her annoyed glare.

"I'm sorry we can't all be perfect like you (y/n)-!" Mina half joked. "-and know everything!"

"I am far from perfect." You chuckled,

"You didn't even have to really think about what your hero name should be, you just knew!"

"It's a name-" You shrugged, "-it's not that hard."

"Says you!" Mina dramatically threw herself over her desk.

"If it makes you feel better I haven't finish my packet for the support course yet." You say.

"No?" Mina blinked, lifting herself up.

"I'm pretty sure they will issue a man hunt for me if I don't finish it soon." You joke.

"Why haven't you finished it?"

"Because I don't know everything." You smile.

"What would you pick if you were me?" Mina wondered.

"Mm..." You thought for a moment. "...I haven't known you that long-"

"Well try anyway!"

"Well-" You sighed, leaning back in your seat as you crossed your arms. "-your kind, charming, tender to people...those are all the characteristics of the color pink which is your skin color so I would pick...Pinky."

"Pinky?" Mina blinked, tasting the word in her mouth. "Hm."

You looked passed Mina, at Bakugo who was arguing with Midnight about his name. You smirked seeing his annoyed face.

"You did put me on the spot-" You lazily defended.

"I like it." Mina nodded to herself.

"Huh?"

"I picked my name!" Mina rose her hand looking at Midnight.

"You-You can't use the one I picked!" You called as she stood, walking to the front of the class.

Midnight approved Mina's hero name, earning a large smile from the pink hero. You sighed, leaning back in your seat shaking her head as Aizawa went on to discuss the upcoming internships.

"We only have two days!?"

"Better get on it." Aizawa called over his shoulder as Midnight and he exited the room.

You looked at the paper handed to you from Bakugo at the agencies who wanted you but you couldn't accept since you weren't allowed to partake.

"Why would they even give me this?" You muttered.

"Wow look how many agencies want you for your internship!" Mina gasped looking over your shoulder.

"Yeah." You nodded.

"O-Oh I am sorry!" Mina stuttered, realizing you weren't allowed to accept any agency.

"It's fine." You smiled at her.

If you were being honest, you were glad you couldn't go anywhere, you wanted to go home and laze around and sleep for the solid week.

"What are you going to be doing for the week there is no class?" Midoriya asked, leaning on his desk. You turned, stretching your legs out.

"No idea." You answered, "All Might has some trip he has to go on, he asked if I would join him."

"That sounds fun!" Midoriya grinned, you shrugged. "Have you guys talked yet?"

"Yes and no." You sighed as you rubbed your stiff neck. "It's still awkward. He didn't want me in the sports festival, I went anyway then got arrested...I didn't get let out until four in the morning, we kind of talked in the car but I passed out."

"I'm sure it'll get better."

"Yeah." You agreed, "I'm sure it'll take time."

"I think you should go." Midoriya said, "It would be good for both of you."

"Maybe." You nodded.

"What are you two losers' talking about?" Bakugo asked walking up to his desk, his list of agencies in his hand.

"Hey Kacchan." Midoriya said as Bakugo sat down, coping your body language, keeping his legs in the aisle so he could face you easier.

"Why do you call him that?" You wondered out of the blue.

"Wh-What!?" Midoriya nervously laughed,

"You call him Kacchan." You repeated, Bakugo's heart skipped hearing that name on your lips.

"Oh-Oh that...well I have known him since we were kids so..."

"Is that why he calls you Deku?" You asked.

"Well..."

"(y/n)!" Ochaco gasped, turning your head. "No way!"

"What?" You asked, seeing her leaning over your desk staring at your list.

"You have 'Firearms' on your list!"

"No way!" Kirishima turned. "Firearms!?"

"Who?" Asui asked.

"Firearms if the third most popular hero agency in the world!" Kirishima gushed, "The pro-hero Shooter is like the most badass guy ever!"

"Hm." You nodded, while your focus was on Kirishima. Bakugo stared at the bruise that kissed your eye. "Super."

"Man-!" Kirishima shook his head, "-it sucks they won't let you go and at least shadow a pro-hero!"

"No way!" Mina protested. "You never know what could happen out there even with a pro-hero, and (y/n) has a broken rib, she could get seriously hurt!"

"That is true..." Kirishima sighed. "...they could have her do like desk work or something!"

"Absolutely not!" Mina shook her head, "She should stay home and rest."

"It's like I'm not even sitting here." You mutter, leaning on your arm feeling tired.

"We know your there!" Mina laughed, having missing your sense of humor.
