Cormac and Melusine spent the day getting used to an underwater settlement. A meal of seaweed was what they ate, initially finding it unusual only to get used to it and find it quite good. While Surface-Dweller's Crypt was considered a boring derelict where drifters could spend the night, the two Children of the Storm took the opportunity to learn where everyone was going, wishing to know about the new world in which they lived.
Remembering of the Pacifican Merman and his destination of a citadel ruled by a Mer king, Melusine inquired about it. A Profound One with a hammerhead, made mention of such a citadel being located in what Surface-Dwellers called the Milwaukee Deep, though knew not if this was the one the Pacifican Merman was headed to. The Hammerhead Profound One simply assured her that such citadels were common throughout the oceans.
Upon hearing this, Cormac asked if there was a citadel in Pacifica. To his surprise, he was told that Pacifica looked the same as it had as when the oceans had drunk it albeit a tad bit different, which Cormac took to mean the city was inhabited ruins, but ruins nonetheless. Alas, this did little to answer Cormac's question, though he presumed that there was indeed a citadel, albeit one that had looked better before the sinking of Pacifica.
When the sun began to sink, the Young Egan and the Surface-Born Merrow-Maiden bid everyone farewell and returned to the spot where Tuspehstah slumbered. Finding the Substantial Stingray awaking, the two got onto the back of that living flying carpet, fully ready to continue their journey westward towards Pacifica.
Alas, it had been that moment the raiders had attacked.
