I parked my scooter in front of the gray coloured gate. The all white building has a bluish glass wall can be seen right in front of me. After reading the words in front of the building that says Golden Palace, I walked while pushing my scooter to the guard post that stood only a few steps from where I was standing.
"Excuse me, this is the Golden Palace, is it?" I asked to the guard sitting inside.
"Yes, can't you read? It says Golden Palace there, right?" said the guard.
"Everybody here is so arrogant. From the guard to the residence, inside my heart. By residence, I meant my boss, Mr. F.
"Hmm, I'm a maid here. Can I get in?" I asked before going inside. The watch on my wrist says right 7.45 am.
Hurry up, uncle guard. I don't want to be let to Mr. F's door. I beg inside.
"Wait, wait. Which unit?" asked the old guard.
"Unit 29" I replied shortly.
Then I see the guard flipping some pages of the book on his table. "Oh, okay. He asked me to give this key to you."
I nodded quickly and grabbed the keys from his hand. "Okay, Uncle"
I accidentally called him uncle like I was thinking. The old guard looked at me with a dissatisfied look.
"What Uncle? I'm Mr. Lee" said the guard that looks to be around 50 years old. He then lets me in.
"Thank you Mr. Lee. I'll go up first." I said while smiling bitterly at him.
Walking inside the Golden Palace really blinded my eyes. There was a small garden with a beautiful man-made fountain. There were a few carved wooden benches. It looks like some wedding venue at one glance.
Without wasting any time I head inside the building. I looked at the watch one more time. "Oh my god, it's 7.55 already! Why isn't the elevator here?"
Suddenly the door opens and I walked inside with my old sling bag.
"Auch!" I felt pain in my arm. When I looked up, I see that I've bumped into someone. I looked into a pair of ayes that's looking a t me sharply.
Oh, so handsome. I said inside.
"I'm sorry" I apologized to the man in blue shirt and darker blue tie.
The Korean guy must be mad at me. His face looks like he just drank some vinegar.
"Next time, look in front of you!" he said sharply and walked through.
Oh my god, he's not Korean.
"Huh, what kind of people has no manner like this. I know it's my fault but I already apologized." I uttered.
Then I entered the elevator. Ah, please don't let me be late today. My heart eases a little bit when I reached the 29th floor. When I walked out of the elevator i quickly looked for the door with 29 on it. Ha! Found it.
I pressed the bell as Mr. Lee told me to earlier. He said id no one answered in one minute I can just go in. After I was sure no one is gonna come and open the door for me, I opened the door using the key I got earlier.
Call me as soon as you get here: 0123456789.
I read the sticky note on the wall. I quickly got my phone out and look at the clock that says 7.59 am.
"Yes?" answered the voice at the other end of the line.
Eh, don't usually people answer with a hello instead of yes? I asked inside.
"Hello, boss. I'm here." I said hesitantly.
"What time is it now?"
The voice that doesn't sound to friendly to me asked.
"8 sharp, boss!" I answered spiritedly. I hope his watch is the same as mine.
"Hmm, well, I've put some notes around the house. Make sure you read the note and understand."
The line got cut just like that before I could even answered. I'm still blinking in place thinking about the notes that he just said. Notes? We're not even in high school. A small laughter escaped my lips.
