The soldiers all froze, he just used a spell after all! How could they not freeze up? They just watched a boy, on the verge of death, wield a sword and slice off a fellow soldier's neck with little no effort. It was even so fast it blended into the darkness.
The soldiers raised their weapons after realizing the kid was still a threat and pointed their weapons at the Whetho and the few others protecting what was left of Kaiden's body.
"Kid! Move now, we will forgive you and spare all of your lives if you stand down and let us finish that demon!"
"Yeah, though you'll be punished for attacking and killing one if us!"
"Aren't you that little bastard that the Gremmen family bought from the mercenary group? Get out of the way you damn kid!"
The soldiers kept trying to change the kid and others minds but to no avail. Though, the soldiers on Kaiden's side were thinking of abandoning his side.
"As I said, I shall stand guard of the young master of the Gremmen family even at the cost of my own life!"
"Brat"
"You devil sider!"
"Little shit!"
The soldiers all berated Whetho for his decision and were ready to attack, but a feeling from Teece made them all freeze.
"I gave you a chance, since I was recovering, but it seems you made your decision. You little demon companion!"
Teece stood up throwing a glass bottle away from him while looking at Whetho with bloodlust in his eyes.
'Damn it.. Recovery potion.. How long can I last against Teece? Though it seems like it was a low level one, still, he likely has most of his vigor back..'
Thoughts piled up in Whetho's mind as he watched Teece stand back up. He noticed he wasn't fully recovered but he was too under skilled against Teece.
'Wait, Kaiden said Teece's Elemental Organ should be in a bad state.. meaning I have a chance!'
With that thought, Whetho's resolved strengthened and he pointed his rapier toward Teece.
Whetho's purple eyes darkened as he looked into Teece's emotionless green eyes.
Teece shot his spear toward Whetho's head. He responded with a tilt of his head and stabbed at Teece.
However Teece jumped back hitting Whetho's head with the spear and once again jabbing at him. Whetho tried to dodge, but was a second late and was stabbed in his left thigh.
"Tch"
Whetho clicked his tongue before his sword and his arm was hidden in the darkness. It reappeared soon after, leaving him looking a little pale.
Teece was cautious, however, it didn't matter as huge cut appeared on his chest, it even pierced through his chest piece!
"Gah! Damn bastard!"
Teece coughed blood as he pushed his Elemental Organ to shoot a small fireball from the tip of his spear.
Whetho's skin grew paler as the fireball disappeared from everyone's sight and then a black ball that emitted heat shot back at Teece!
"What the fu..."
Teece was hit by the dark fireball and was sent flying a few feet. He let out a blood curdling scream as he was being burnt alive.
Whetho sighed with relief as he saw that scene. Yet, it was soon replaced with a tired and failed look as the rest of the soldiers that were on his side fell. Whetho watched as eight soldiers surrounded him ready to end his life.
His expression even worsened, as he saw Teece get up with his charred skin. He couldn't see the expression that Teece had, but he could guess by the harsh daggers that were being implanted in him by the stare.
Whetho started to show a bit of hesitation as some sweat appeared on his pale complexion.
"You really are worth all the praise you're given as the Gremmen family's war machine!"
"Die."
Teece response was cold as he coughed some more blood which was the cause if one of his spells.
A fire arrow shot as fast as it appeared, hitting Whetho in his lower gut. This caused him to fall down in clench his body in pain and let out a groan.
Whetho looked up and saw that Teece was already preparing another one.
'Looks like I won't be able to come back Uncle.. I'm sorry that I let the only one who believed in me down..'
Whetho had already accepted his death as the last one to try to defend Kaiden's body. He sat there with some tears going down his face before he heard some crazy laughter coming from Kaiden's body.
As Whetho started to look behind him a sword flew past him before on to be blocked by Teece's spear.
Teece looked toward where the sword came from and he saw Kaiden stood up with little to no injuries.
"To think you had enough strength to throw this at me and laugh like a crazed maniac. You really are a demo..."
Teece and the others were caught off guard as they looked at Kaiden. They watched as his golden hair slowly turned brownish gold and his eyes became brown with a hint of red and gold to them. He had a smile that put fear into all of the soldiers hearts. Even his tone and voice were different!
"My goodness, all this for little ol' me~?"
Kaiden's voice seemed to grow deeper and old as he cracked his neck.
"So you show your true form, demon!"
"Huh? fwahahahaha! Yeah yeah, true form of this demon~"
Kaiden couldn't help laugh when 'true form' was mentioned.
Kaiden stretched for a minute before walking over to a dead soldier and grabbing his short sword. He swung it eight times, each one seeming to curve the air around it more and more.
"It's a bit wore... uneven for my body.. ew! This hilt is angled! Well I guess it was more fit for his hand.. still, this curve is dog shit!"
"Kaiden..?"
One of the soldiers said his name as he was trying to understand some of the words coming out of his mouth. It was a language he never heard before.
Kaiden ignored him as he swung the sword three more times before being interrupted by Teece.
"That's enough of your stalling!"
He shot a fireball from his spear spitting some blood.
Kaiden's smile grew wider and added fear as he walked towards the fireball cutting it, it exploded as he did and created a huge puff of smoke.
"Is he dead.. sir?"
"He has to be, did you not see or hear that explosion!?"
"Shut it, the demon child is dead, now kill his servant!"
Teece shut the soldiers mouths up and had them pay attention to Whetho, who was still in some trance to what was happening.
Hearing the clanking of armor forced him to recover his sense and try to stand but to no avail.
One of the soldiers reached him and raised his sword and swung it down!
Whetho closed his eyes and saw a picture of his uncle, it was a little blurry but he smiled with that thought.
"You're just gonna sit there and not fight against death~? I expected more from you~! Hahahaha!!"
Kaiden was behind Whetho with the short sword in his hand! He lost his left arm, most of his face was charred, his chest was open and black, but most of all he didn't even have a heart!
"Ho.. how are you even alive..?"
"Hmmm? good question."
Kaiden answered in the unknown language, before a quick hand motion allowed him to both disarm and slice open the soldiers chest!
'That movement... it was similar to mine..! How did he copy my family's technique so easily?!'
"Sir... how are.. are you using my technique?"
Whetho stuttered because if the pain in his body and was on the verge of fainting, yet before he did, he needed to hear the answer!
"hmmmm~?"
Kaiden thought for a minute as he jumped over Whetho and killed the soldiers before they could surround them.
"I have always been able to do this, even in my world."
"Huh? Sir, what are you sayi-"
Before he could ask another question Teece ran up on Kaiden and jabbed his spear at him.
"Oh, hey there kid~! I was wondering when you would come at me~! Hahahahah!!"
"What are you saying, you damn demon!? Is it some demonic language!?"
"Nah, just English~! it's not that hard to learn.. well, not really, it was considered on of the more harder languages to learn."
"I won't let to chant or whatever you are trying!"
Teece tried to sweep his leg under Kaiden's legs but kaiden just jumped up and wrapped his legs around Teece's neck.
"See, the thing about spears is the distance. Had you not been overcome with your hate and desire to kill me so fast, then you might have played this dance right~!"
Kaiden explained with a charred smile on his face.
"Arrgghh! DIE!"
"So feisty~! Hahahaha!"
Kaiden squeezed his legs and flipped, taking Teece over and planting his head into the ground.
'Such a shame, this feels all so real. Oh well, I have fun with the others.'
"Sir behind you!"
"Huh?"
Kaiden turned around to Teece pointing his spear at him and a fireball being launched at him!
"Hahaha! What a strong guy! I would've loved to fight you at your peak though."
Kaiden raised his sword and swung it down as the world seemed to gather around him. As his sword went down a massive wave of air sliced through the fireball and even reached Teece!
Teece screamed as he was cut up and dropped to his knees barely conscious. He looked up at Kaiden with all of his strength dropping even more to the ground.
"De...mon.."
He said with his remaining strength, but as he was about to give in he felt something hit his back and could feel some strength return to him. He had just enough to turn and see what was behind him.
"Wh.. but how...?"
His reaction was understandable, as he saw the oh so recognizable and beautiful golden eyes of the Gremmen family.
It was non-other than Kaiden was on top of him and placing a rune on him! He had dirt and blood on his face and his body seemed in rough shape, but it was him!
"You dumb bastard, that person is just a bunch of runes! You think I wouldn't have realized my brother had some plan to kill me? Plus, you were way too obvious about this shit!"
Kaiden lost control of his emotions as he was screaming and was completely honest and that made him more pissed for reasons he didn't understand.
'Damn, I hurt like hell, I wanted to rest for a while longer but I wanted to imprint this into his head before he dies about how great I am!'
'Why am I even like this!? I shouldn't care about that! Fuck, oh well!'
Kaiden made a knife appear in his hand and push it sighting into Teece's left pectoral muscle. He looked at his making sure the last thing he saw was his bloddy smiling face.
However, Teece wasn't going to except such an easy death after gaining some strength. He created a fireball and made if explode almost immediately!
Even if he was slightly hurt from this it would hopefully kill Kaiden and allow Teece to escape. Yet, to his dismay, through the smoke a hand came through it and grabbed his collar.
"Didn't I tell you, MY version of fire.. is way fucking hotter than yours!"
The world could be felt gathering around Kaiden as he stated those words, less than what the Rune Kaiden gathered though. He then had fire appear in his hand!
Kaiden's eyes gained a more reddish hue mixed in bright golden color as fire that slowly turned red and hotter than what even Teece made with Kaiden's rune! He then put his hand on Teece, slowly burning him alive and finally killing him for good.
'Fuck.. I'm about to..'
Kaiden puked blood and fell to the ground, passing out from the exhaustion from the harsh battle before and the stress on his body for using an element from a rune!
"Seems like he's going to be out for a while, huh~?"
"I.. what is happening... and what are you saying..?"
"Hahaha! I am saying whatever comes up in my head~! Well, I guess I should help."
Rune Kaiden said as he felt his life force for the runes depleting. He walked over to Kaiden and grabbed his space ring and pulled out a few Level 0 runes throwing them at Whetho and Kaiden.
When that was over he slowly started to fade into dust. Before he was gone completely he looked at Whetho and gave him a smile.
"Good luck, work on your swordsmanship and survivability then reach the peak of this world!"
With his final words said he vanished into dust. Whetho stared at that spot as the sun started coming up and seemed ready to pass out.
"Did he... did he know how to speak our language the entire time?"
As he said this he finally passed out and healed in his sleep.
