Chapter 3 - A Troublesome War Chieftain

"YOU DARE TO DISTURB ME AND MY GRANDSON YOU BASTARDS?!"

It's an understatement to just call him terrifying.

Garam looked liked the elf's death God...

Cold sweats ran down on the masked men's face...They tried to step back but they couldn't. Their feet were glued to the ground because of fear.

"So it's true that in front of overwhelming power you won't be able to move even a muscle." Karin thought.

"I heard one of my teachers say that they felt it before. I was really mesmerized by his story and couldn't sleep during class at all. Rare times..." He added.

"HEY... HOW DO YOU PLAN TO COMPENSATE MY PRECIOUS MOMENTS WITH MY GRANDSON? HUH!?"

Garam was furious. He is unexpectedly a doting grandfather...

He is extremely angry and scary but the fact that he's not making a loud voice makes him even more scarier...

"... I-... W-Were sorry Chief Garam..."

The masked men kowtowed. Surely it was the first time that they felt that kind of fear. Some of them even pissed their pants...

"I ASKED YOU HOW DO YOU PLAN TO COMPENSATE. I DIDN'T ASK FOR A DAMNED APOLOGY YOU IDIOTS!"

Garam took a step forward then suddenly, all the men levitated...

Afterwards, he created a separate space around the men by trapping them inside a barrier of wind with extremely high wind pressure...

Inside the space, he reduced the amount of air and slowly suffocated them.

"Please stop this dad!"

A voice from far away intervened.

"Are you also planning on killing your 12 Generals?"

The voice slowly got closer and revealed itself to be an elf...

It was a male elf wearing a robe that made him invincible.

"Hmm? You are... Henry?"

Garam seems to have recognized the man.

"What are you doing here son? You are the King now so you shouldn't be wandering around like this."

"I could say the same thing to you dad! You are our War Chieftain So you shouldn't wander around!"

"You put me in that position yourselves. You didn't even ask for my approval. Why should I trouble myself for you idiots!.. Hmph!"

Garam was really stubborn.

"And did you say my 12 Generals are amongst these weaklings? Looks like I've got to train (beat) them again."

Garam glared at those masked elves that became so terrified after hearing what Garam just said.

Karin on the other hand, was left alone in his thoughts...

Even though he's discovering quite a lot of new things, he was calm. He looked at Garam and Henry arguing like little kids and acted like he has nothing to do with it while staying behind Garam...

*Sigh*

"Dad, please, just this once... We really need you this time." Henry begged.

He walked towards Garam and whispered something in his ear. After hearing what Henry said, sudden changes could be seen on Garam's expression.

"For real?"

"For real."

*Sigh*

Garam let out a sigh before looking at Karin.

He grabbed Karin and used the winds to fly towards the forest.

"Don't follow us, I'll be back."

Henry answered with a nod.

After safely landing inside the forest, Garam sat on the ground while Karin leans his back against a tree.

"Karin, you're a bright kid so I'm sure you already have a gist of what's happening."

Garam was the person who saved Karin. He found Karin unconscious on the river 5 years ago. He was his benefactor, savior, father and friend.

"....."

Karin stayed silent.

"As you may already know I'm an elf. But what you didn't know was that I hold quite a high position inside the 'Elves' Forest'."

Karin stayed silent the whole time. He was the awkward type so he can't think of anything to say.

"I've been told that there's an emergency... personally by my son, the king. I thought I can just beat up the envoys he sent to me like I've always done before but this time it's a bit different." Garam added.

"You can go..." Karin said.

Garam was saddened.

"Don't be sad... This is an issue regarding your real family. And also your tribe. You need to be with them at times like this."

Garam held a bittersweet smile.

Afterwards, they flew out of the forest and reunited with the others...

"Let's go..."

Garam announced that he would be going back with them.

Karin stayed silent but as awkward as he is, he wanted to bid his 'Grandad' a nice farewell.

"Bye Grandad. I-I hope you come back soon."

Hearing this, Garam smirked.

"That's why I like you a lot Karin. Even though you're not my real blood. You're better than this crappy son of mine." Garam said to tick Henry.

"Don't worry. I'll be back." He added.

After bidding farewell, they exchanged smiles at each other.

Elves have high affinity with the wind and so they are very proficient in using this. When they travel, they use the wind to boost their speed and use the wind to protect their body so that it will be able to handle extreme speed.

-----

Tomorrow has arrived. Karin spent the rest of his night sleeping inside his classroom. He decided leave his home for just one night since he'll miss his grandad.

Staying at school all day is a privilege available only for Karin. This privilege was given to him by the Academy's principal. But what really happened was that the principal got threatened by Garam to grant this privilege to Karin. Karin asked Garam while Garam asked the Principal.

Karin woke up to the sounds of the bell. It signifies the start of classes. Afterwards, he slept again since their first class was self study. Maybe he was studying on how to sleep in class effectively.

He spent his days like this until a month later.

It was Teacher Jane's class.

"Please welcome our new transfer student."

Every student in the room was shocked. The transfer student was an elf.

After the teacher gestured, she introduced herself.

"Greetings, I am Aly Farman. I hope to get along with all of you for the days to come."
