Chapter 7 - Show of Superiority

Back to the current situation, I am still chained down in the basement...

After getting my memories back, my skills when I singlehandedly destroyed the 'Kardia Empire' also came back. As I am now, I can easily break these chains without as much as a sweat. But I need the right timing...

"Haaah"

I sighed and stared at the two in front of me. Aly was still shaking in fear while Teacher Alvi was starting to get flustered.

I dived in my memories about 20 minutes ago. Teacher Alvi started to ask about Aly's connection with me. It was quite strange that she knew of my benefactor's death after all.

"Aly... What is your relationship with Karin?"

Aly flinched after hearing the question. She drooped her face, trying not to show herself panicking.

"You did know of his benefactor's death. So that must mean that you're connected to Karin somehow..."

Teacher Alvi... No, I guess I'll just call him Alvi since I'm not Karin anymore. Alvi tries to dig deeper about the incident. But Aly will now choose her words carefully...

Well, if she answered truthfully, that would reveal her position as princess after all.

As far as I know, there is currently no knowledge about the Elves having a princess, They must be keeping it a secret.

I couldn't bring myself to stay silent as my benefa- Grandad's blood granddaughter is in trouble...

"Hi-"

"Her grandfather found me 5 years ago. I lost my memories around that time so I'm greatly indebted to her grandfather. That's all there is to it..."

I overtook Aly as she was about to speak. Their attentions are now aimed towards me.

"This "Grandfather" may I know his name?"

Alvi is clearly showing his lack of trust in me.

"It's better for you not to know."

I purposely answered disrespectfully. It was to provoke him and keep his attention to me. To make him forget about his interrogation with Aly.

"... Hmmm... Why not?"

Alvi furrowed his eyebrows.

"Nothing... I just don't want to tell you."

"Why not just tell me, Karin... You'll get hurt if you keep this up."

After hearing this, I stared at him straight in the eye and smirked.

"Try me."

"You brat... You seem to be oblivious about your current situation so let me enlighten you."

Alvi angrily stood up and approached towards me with ill intentions. He unleashed his red aura and made a devilish grin on his face.

"Pfft! Hahaha!.. Karin really shoved mud on my face."

I couldn't help but laugh at Alvi's arrogance. Well, I did provoke him and his confidence in his powers and his pride in his beast might be the reasons for his arrogance.

But he's still nothing compared to the great me...

"What are you saying? You got insane, eh? Haha"

Alvi laughed it off.

"Haaaah"

After I exhaled deeply, eerie silence filled the basement. It was exactly like "The calm before the storm".

"HOW DARE A MERE PUP BE SO ARROGANT!?"

Alvi stopped on his tracks, unable to move. Cold chills filled his whole being as he felt my intent to kill.

When I was Karin, I was unable to control my bloodlust and presence so it just bursts out whenever I get in an excited state...

But now that my memories have returned along with my skills, I am able to control my intent and unleash it to whoever is unfortunate.

This time, Alvi was the unfortunate man.

"Ahh..."

As Aly observed the situation, she instantly knew what was happening to Alvi.

It was eerily silent inside the basement but definitely not for Alvi. I'm sure he's feeling like he died a thousand times already.

And to make things worse for him...

*Clang!... Clang!*

The sounds of the chains getting broken resonated inside the basement.

I walked towards Alvi with my eyes fiercely glaring straight at him, emitting rays of blue light.

"You said you were gonna enlighten me about my situation didn't you? TEACHER ALVI!.."

I approached him without taking my eyes off of him. Instinctively, Alvi stepped back, he must've felt the extreme pressure of my presence as I walked straight towards him.

"Teacher Alvi, let me say this in advance..."

I stared at him face to face.

"A MERE PUP CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT STAND AGAINST A TRUE BEAST."

I showed him a glimpse of my black aura before tapping his shoulders that signals the stop of my attack against him.

I brushed him off the side and left him staring at thin air as I walked past him. I headed towards Aly who was cowering in the corner of the room.

"Aly Farman..."

I stared at her sad appearance. I was definitely the cause of this and it will remain as an unpleasant memory for her. The least I could do is apologize for my deeds.

"Forgive me, I won't make reasons for what I did to you. As I am greatly indebted to your grandfather, I'll accept any punishment you give and do anything you wish if that will satisfy you and especially if doing so will destroy your bad impressions of me."

I stared at her, expecting for her angry reply.

"Mm... I-I'm sorry as well, You must've been shocked by the sudden news. I forgive you."

She looked up at me and smiled bitterly.

I was dumbfounded by her unexpected reply. I would've accepted it if she decided to hate me. It was an unfair situation for her since I didn't hear her out completely and even attempted to hurt her.

I closed my eyes and slightly bowed my head to express my gratitude.

"Thank you... I will repay your kindness with my kindness as well. From now on, I shall consider you as an important acquaintance of mine..."

She displayed an incredible amount will power. This time and before as well when she faced my bloodlust. She is a good person. I acknowledge her.

"T-Thank you, Karin-"

"Karl. My real name is Karl Jin."

I sat down beside her but I made sure to put some space between us to avoid making things hard for her...

"T-then... Thank you, K-karl. We'll be friends from now on then."

I look at her in the side as her smile lightened up her face. I was enchanted by her charms. Her eyes shone emerald green as she slowly turned her head to looked at me. She was gorgeous.

"Yeah."

I softly voiced my answer.

I was entranced by her beauty. Her beauty reminded me of my mother. Like her, my mother was gentle and kind. They were really like two peas in a pod.

This peaceful moment was soon interrupted by a loud creak made by the basement's iron door when it opens...

*Creaakk!!*
