The police sirens rang out in the chilly bloody night after the preparators left the scene. Ten members from the Heirs gang had been found dead according to the investigation and more was to be uncovered.
Being cautious , Jason didn't take Jenny to the hospital but rather to his penthouse. Having called James to his place, they found him prepared and he helped Jason rush Jenny to the mini operation theater. She had bled so bad that she ended up in a comatose. James had a lot of questions for Jason but now wasn't the right time to ask. He and Travis had handled the operation to extract the bullet from her and were fast and metilicious ending the operation in success. Jason was the blood donor as he had the strongest and most compatible blood to aid with the operation.
After 'vampire' James drained him of quite a few bags of blood, Jason went up to his room to lie down shortly. He had questions but no answers but the one that bugged him the most was 'what she was doing in the middle of the night and for what reason was she shot?' Lost in his thoughts, he lost track of time and only returned when he heard light steps coming his way.
James had come in with a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. He had changed his outfit into grey sweat pants and a white shirt, walking closely, he took a seat across Jason and placed the bottle and served Jason a drink and himself. They sat there in silence for a while til James chose to speak. "Whose she?"
"I don't know,Markus found her." Jason knew where this was going.
"Nice try tough guy. Markus can't know someone you don't. Who is she?" James persisted as he sipped his drink lazily.
"A girl I've encountered twice. How's she?" There was no reason for him to be so secretive.
"Safe but...." James let out a deep sigh.
"What?!" Jason looked at him questioningly.
"She...this isn't the first time she's been shot. I noticed scars from previous gunshots all over her body." James was bewildered, could she be a set veteran? No, it's impossible!
His brows furrowed in concern but decided to ignore, it was none of his business."That's her personal life. I don't need to pry."
"Unfortunately, I did on your behalf. Her information is blocked. I can't access it." This was troublesome. There had so far been no software he couldn't go through but when it came to the unconscious lady in the room outside, his computer was infested with viruses that if he didn't log out after battling to create to secure his data, he was bound to loose it.
"When will she wake up?" He didn't really care, it was just out of humanity.
"I don't know, we have to wait and see." James shrugged his shoulders as he drained his second glass of wine.
"Good, now you can leave. Your not needed anymore." Jason mercilessly stabbed James' ego who was planning on squandering some benefits from his hard work.
"Shit...." 'oppsss, that came out wrong.' "how can you be so heartless. I had to leave my sweet sleep for your sake thinking you got me a sister In law and almost died racing against time to get here only to have you drive me away.....such a meanie. Anyway am not going, am going to stay and monitor sister in law's vitals till she's awake." James said all that in one breathe and his face flushed, contoured in anger but firm on his decision.
"If your done shouting, please leave." Jason couldn't stand the brewing headache.
"Gladly!" and he rushed out of the monsters room. This guy was so hard to extort. He went to the kitchen area inow spirits.
The twins were meticulously preparing dinner and had also changed into homey clothes. Liam was setting the table and had also changed into pajamas
"I'm thinking of poaching you guys to work for me." James' voice resonated through the kitchen drawing the twins and Liam's attention but no one said a word and they went back to what they were doing. He took a seat at the counter on a bar stool and lazily waited for the meal.
Half an hour later, Jason too joined and the five men dived in. Half way the meal, James opened the discussion again. "So, it was the Heirs gang that attacked. Do you want me to do something about it?"
"Mmm, those losers dared?!!" Mike sneered.
"The bullet I got from sister in law...." Mike and Travis chocked on their meals and this made James look at the them questioningly but wasn't bothered so he continued. "....was not of the Heirs gang, how did she get shot?"
The room dropped a few degrees and Mike gulped comically the non existent saliva taking a peek at Jason. Though they hadn't been officially introduced to each other, the twins knew alot about James and he was most famous for being a blabber mouth which made him annoying. Now their virgin captain had been awarded with a sister in law by the brainless James without either parties' approval. This was mind throbbing.
"James...." the temperatures dropped further. "If you can't eat then leave and don't make up assumptions." Jason was not annoyed but the news reporter from his Dark Shadow Elite Force was sitting on the same table with him and without a doubt, if he didn't clarify things, this was going to break into a wild fire that was to take forever to extinguish. He didn't have time for that
"What am I wrong? I foresee your future and that beautiful lady in there is out sister in law!" James said with conviction.
"OUT!!!!!" This was going the wrong way and Jason wouldn't let it
"At least let me finish my meal." James continued to wolf down the meal the least bothered.
"I SAID GET OUT!!" Jason's headache had increased a notch higher.
"So petty hmp!" And steak went down in James' mouth.
A table knife flew across the room and James dodged it by mere luck. He was shocked that he chocked on his steak. "Are you trying to kill me?!!" cough cough cough.....
"OUT." Jason spoke with finality.
"Fine fine , am going but don't you dare ever and I mean dare call me back to aid you!" James felt so wronged that his eyes started to sting. He was the type of guy that easily got emotionally hurt if it concerns those dear to him. "Your so mean brother."
He stood up and strode to the sitting room, picked up his keys and left. Call him petty but that was him. He got to his bike in the parking lot and hopped on racing crazy away.
Back in the penthouse, the room was filled with silence and secret glances at each other. Jason felt the meal had gone sour, he had forgotten how that guy was super sensitive. He had emotional dysregulation. BDP *Border line personality disorder*
Letting out a tired sigh, he stood up and went to check on Jenny. She was still unconscious and her face was pale but that didn't change her exquisite beauty as she lay there sleeping. Jason didn't know for how long but he stood there and foun himself drawn to her, admiring her features, wondering her past and hoping to know her better. "Wake up", he whispered to himself.
"Captain," Travis's voice drew him back. Right, he had more pressing matters at the moment. 'I'll come check on you later." he thought. "Markus, keep an eye on her and let us know incase of anything." Jason left with Travis in tow to his study.
Mike was busy on his laptop as Liam organised a few files that he had cross checked. "The files that James sent earlier state that your father has managed to tap into the organisation. A month back, he secretly met with Mr Larson and the deal was completed however, there are a few elders objecting this." Mike reported as soon as Jason took his seat.
"I've managed to get the copies from the deal and this is not good news brother." Liam also reported his findings. That old geezer seemed to be digging his own pit.
Travis carried his laptop to Jason's desk and showed him his findings. "I managed to infiltrate the Heirs gang and got a hold.of each and every members information but they happent to have much more mysterious force behind them. The DRAGON SYNDICATE. It's history is of a hundred years now however, since it's leader was murdered, it has been handled by a man who goes by the code name Scar. This is all I've managed to dig out."
"Mmm, let's deal with father first." Jason had a complicated look on his face.
