Chapter 25 - The Arcane 2

"*Cough . . . ahem . . . yes, Pamela?" Silva composed herself when Pamela raised her hand.

Pamela stood to her feet and asked with a hesitant voice, "Uhm . . . what is an experimental class? Are we given a different set of training or lectures?"

Rain and the other breathed a sigh of relief when someone initiated to ask that question.

Silva cleared her throat, now looking all formal. "Right. To answer your question. Class 4/7 will just be any other class. You'll be given the same lectures and fundamentals. Only . . ."

Silva sheepishly grinned, but to everyone, her smile was like an impending calamity was about to befall them.

"Training and activities will be different for you. And for four years, you all will still be in the same class. Training and practicals will be given by yours truly. For one year, I'll be personally training you, so be ready. I will temper you and push you past your limits to equip you with the skills to survive in the outside world. As for your second year, that's where the fun truly starts."

Everyone shivered at the hidden dangers behind their teacher's words.

"Alright. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We still have a full year to get you lot ready so let me start my first lecture if there are no more questions."

When everybody remained silent, Silva continued, "Let's start with the basics. You already know about this, but this is protocol so bear with me. Ahem!"

"Let's start with Arcane energy. As you all know, every living creature, creations have arcane energy. This world is made up of arcane energy. Arcane energy or arcane force is a source of life, and without this, everything dies."

"Human beings are naturally born with just enough arcane energy, and once this energy is used up, you'll die. That's a given fact. Those selected few who could absorb nature's arcane energy are the gifted ones, and almost hundred percent of you here are those gifted ones."

Everyone couldn't help but glance at Arca. She was a special case. Being admitted without an ability to absorb arcane force.

"And with the help of the Armalest, we can channel this energy and make weapons and unleash its force. So let me explain the basics of the Armalest. Armalest is just the accessories in your hands that help you regulate arcane energy and unleash its force. The most important thing is that shiny stone in the center of your Armalest, the arcane stone."

"Arcane stones contain pure energy of nature and help regulate arcane energy. Without it, your Armalest will explode, and you can't regulate the arcane energy you absorbed. In turn, you can't unleash any spells and skills. All creatures can only absorb nature's arcane energy, and once the force is unleashed, it's no longer pure but concentrated, and concentrated energy cannot be absorbed. It goes back to nature, and nature will do its stuff to make it pure again. Thus the cycle of arcane energy in this world."

Silva materialized a gun in her hand, and then she transformed it into a sword, a knife, a rapier. "As you all know. This energy is not limited to just one weapon. You can transform it to your heart's contents in whichever medium you like to unleash your absorbed arcane force. Once your weapons serve their purpose, they'll dissolve into arcane particles and go back into the arcane world (nature)."

"It must be understood that your Armalest purpose is only to unleash the nature's energy you absorbed while the arcane stone helps regulate those energies according to your will. The Armalest, specifically the arcane stone, could not absorb arcane energy, pure or concentrated. Only living things have that ability."

Rain, upon hearing this, couldn't help but wonder about the Regalia, and without thinking about it, he rubbed his Armalest bracer.

Then how did my Armalest absorb the Regalia? Or rather, it was the Regalia that went inside my Armalest's arcane stone and took home there.

"But of course, the ungifted ones can still materialize weapons through Armalest using their body's energy, but I don't need to tell you how dangerous this is, right? If you're not careful with the amount of your energy, you use that could be the end of you."

Silva licked her lips and. "But do you know that the rate of absorption differs from body to body and that one body can hold tons of nature force than the other?"

The room erupted into wild speculations. Most people knew that the absorption rate differs, but they didn't realize that the amount of absorb energy that the body can hold also differs.

"Alright, quiet down. I'll delve into those topics more once your training starts. Now let's wrap up arcane energy and jumped to elemental affinity."

Silva leaned closer while her palms pressed firmly on her table. "As you all know, every creature has an elemental affinity. Although they were neutral ones which are rare, most have an elemental affinity. The Arcane elements of fire, water, wind, earth, thunder, and ice, with thunder and ice being rare elements. There are also the super rare elements of light and darkness that are opposing with each other."

Silva waved a hand and hid her yawn. "There's nothing to talk much about elemental affinity except for their advantage with the other elements. Fire is strong against Ice. Ice is strong against Wind. Wind is strong against Earth. Earth is strong against Thunder. Thunder is strong against Water, and Water is strong against Fire. Where Light and Darkness are only weak and strong against each other."

Silva propped herself up as her face lit up. "And with this lesson is finish for today! Today is supposed to be the introduction as you'll spend the rest of the day roaming the school and get yourself familiarized with the many facilities."

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a drinki–er . . . lesson plan to do. Adue!"

Silva then zoomed towards the door like she was dying to leave, and the room shook from the loud banging of the door when she left.

Everyone present couldn't utter a word as they were too shocked at what had just happened.
