Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Lova was still frozen in front of the door of her small boarding house. Thinking of a way to get Alder out of her boarding house right away. Regret for having nodded she just felt now.

She caught a glimpse of the man who was still casually waiting for Lova to open the door.

"It's late." Lova turned and looked at Alder. "You should just go home."

"I just want to see your boarding house for a while."

Lova bit her lower lip. "But it's getting late," Lova squeaked, half looking down.

"Just a moment. I'm promise." Alder smiled sweetly in front of Lova with his hand showing his little finger.

Lova absolutely don't know what Alder wanted, but Lova finally opened the door to her boarding house. Alder entered and immediately looked around the house.

"Wider than your old boarding house."

Lova sighed. There shouldn't be any conversation about that old time from Alder's mouth. Lova was lazy to talk about what happened seven years ago.

"If you want to clean up, go ahead. I can wait."

Alder returned to his activities which looking around Lova's boarding house after giving a smile that made Lova suddenly obey his words.

I must have been hypnotized!

The man with long legs, sat comfortably on the sofa. Take a look at some of the albums in his hands right now. And a frame perched neatly on Alder's front desk.

Lova hurriedly approached and grabbed the frame, hiding it behind her back. Alder glanced at her, reassuring that the man was not suspicious of what she was doing.

"I'm so young in that photo, aren't I?" Alder closed the album and looked at Lova who realized that Alder had seen what photo was behind the frame. "And you are still too tidy to be Arlova Zemira like now." The pointed-nosed man smiled gently.

Alder put off the album on the table. Reach Lova's hand who hide the album behind her back.

"It's okay. I think you keep it as a memory." The man with the stern face put the frame on the table along with the albums.

"Al, you should go home now." Lova's voice soften.

"I'm sorry for the seven years ago, darl."

Lova feels the little touches on her tiny fingers. Alder even just lowered his head without looking at Lova. Only his hands continue to touch Lova's fingers.

"Don't talk about that again, Al. I've forgot it."

"Don't me too." They are looking at each other now. "Don't make me as in all the things you forgot."

Lova didn't know what was the reason for Alder who suddenly came and proposed her, but Lova became very indecisive now. The subtle vibrations every time she got close to Alder seemed to a signal that Lova would fall for this man soon. But on the other hand, Lova didn't want that to happen.

"Al-"

"How about to be my wife? That is the best idea, isn't it?"

Lova didn't even have time to finish her sentence, but Alder quickly cut in.

That question again.

"At least you can try to be my girlfriend first. Once you are ready, I will immediately marry you." Alder's face lit up.

Lova's body just freeze. Her tongue couldn't even move to reply to Alder's words.

Is it that easy for him?

~.~.~.~

Weekends are fun to laze around and not shower all day.

Yeah, that is absolutely true that Lova is a girl who believe of bathing once a day on weekends. She believed that her beauty would increase by just taking a bath once a day on weekends.

Even more fun, Lova doesn't have to pretend playing hide-and-seek just want to go to the toilet so she doesn't run into Alder like she has done all this weekdays.

The man was always looking for a way to be able to meet Lova. Fortunately, Lova was able to avoided Alder well. The incident at her boarding house when Alder visited became a thought that kept lodged in Lova's head.

That man proposed her for umptent times. Asked her to be his wife and live forever together. And Lova thought that things is not as easy as what that man said.

Lova opened the small refrigerator in her boarding house. Grabbed a bottle of mineral water and immediately gulped. The sofa in the living room is the main purpose of her to lying down. Immediately Lova grabbed the phone that rang.

"What?" Lova answered lazily.

"It's me, Evelyn."

"Whoa, Evelyn. I didn't know it was you!" Lova's voice sounded far-fetched.

"Overacting." If Evelyn had been in front of her, Lova might have thrown her something that would have made her best friend scream in pain. "You're alone, right?"

"Yes."

"I'll be there, okay? Stay overnight."

"Oh! If you just want to hang out at my house, you can. But if you want stay overnight, I'm so sorry Fergusso, I need some time to myself."

"Come on. Why are you really afraid that your weekend will be disrupted by me?"

"I'm such of those person." Lova said casually, making the person on the telephone snort.

"My mother makes your favorite onde-onde. Do you want it, don't you? But let me stay."

"All right, Marimar. You can stay at my house. As long as you bring your mother's onde-onde."

"Btch! Just keep on watching the telenovelas of the old era. Okay, I'll be there in an hour."

"Okay. I love you, Asmeralda."

"SHUT UP!"

Lova chuckled after disconnecting their phone. Evelyn could always make her smile because of the simple silliness they both made.

One hour? Evelyn even only took five minutes to get to her house. Lova knew that Evelyn was already close to her house, so a few minutes after their call ended, Evelyn was already at the door of her boarding house.

Lova enjoyed the onde-onde made by Evelyn's mother, which were very delicious. You know onde-onde, right? Round food with green beans inside and coated with sesame on the outside. Indonesian traditional snacks that Lova really loves.

"Lov." The girl whose name was called just muttered. "I'm still curious about your life with that boss."

"Who's the boss?"

Evelyn rolled her eyes lazily. "Of course, Alder, come on. Am I talk about Gustian?" Lova just chuckled. "You've never told me the details, have you? Do you still want to keep it as a secret from me?"

Evelyn sounded cautious asking about Alder to Lova who was now sighing softly.

"I'm not trying to keep it as a secret, Eve. But I don't really want to remember that anymore."

"If you really don't want to remember anymore, it's okay, Lov. No need to tell. I won't even make you sad."

Lova smiled at Evelyn who looked guilty for asking about her past with Alder. Lova gently stroked Evelyn's arm.

"I should have told someone about this. Even Arnav doesn't know anything because I don't think Alder will appear again. But in fact he's even closer to my environment."

Lova smiled ironicly. Old documents with Alder seven years ago seemed to have piled up at the top of her memory. Not a bad thing, but not a good thing to remember either.

"Eve, actually at that time-"

"Excuse me."

The voice made Lova and Evelyn who were sitting side by side on the sofa turn their heads. Lova's eyes almost popped out when she saw who was now standing in the doorway with a sweet smile that could make withered flowers bloom again.

Evelyn's mouth fell open which ended in a smile. Evelyn glanced at Lova mischievously.

"Mr. Alder."

Lova wanted to cover Evelyn's mouth who greeted her so cheerfully. Alder happily walked in and approached them unwelcome.

"Miss Evelyn here? Any business with Lova?"

Look how polite this man is to call Evelyn Miss. And what it does for Lova is the exact opposite.

I'm even older than Evelyn!!

"Oh nothing, Sir. I just wanted to take Lova onde-onde from my mother. I also about to go home."

"You said you wanted to stay here!"

Evelyn brushed off Lova's hand that was embracing her arm nonchalantly. Lova snorted, fully understanding what Evelyn was thinking now.

"I thought you guys had an appointment. Because I want to take Lova for a short trip. May I, Ms. Eve?"

"Oh, with pleasure and of course you can, Sir. Just take her for a short or even a long trip. As you want, Mr. Alder."

Cursed Evelyn who spoke with such enthusiasm at this time. Lova could only snort.

"I'm giving you a chance to be touched by this handsome boss, Lov. Good luck." Evelyn whispered loudly, making Lova want to curse as hard as she could.

Evelyn was indifferent and immediately grabbed her bag as she walked away. Lova looked annoyed at the man who just smiled.
