Chapter 2 - Riddle me this

2: 32 AM

Dokéshi lays awake, disturbed, but not frightened. He sits in his bed, a bed that lately has seen more sleep than him. As he lays there, the cold breeze of the Air Conditioner kisses his neck as he tries to put together a logical reasoning for what he had seen in the locker room. "It was probably just a towel. We were horse playing alot back there weren't we?" He crosses his arms. "OW!" A scar on his chest reopened. "How did that happen? These scars havent bled for years." confusion sets on his brow. He makes a walk to his once well kept bathroom. Only to find it was covered in blood. The mirrors bleeding through the cracks, cracks made by what looks like anger. Like someone, or something, punched the mirror in frustration. He walks to the shower so he can clear the blood that had created a puddle above the drain. When he turns on the water he's sickened. "Blood". He says with a disgusted look on his face. Freezing blood came out from the place that once showered him in warm, steamy water. All of a sudden every scar on his chest opened like a zipper. He screams, only to find he cant make any noise. He can feel his blood pressure rising. Not by his choice, but his bodies. His mind remains calm. He doesn't scream. Instead he wanders with precaution. He looks down, the blood drips down his body as he steps away from the shower, he notices glass on the floor. He looks up, his mirror is shattered and its skeleton lays waste on the floor. All but one piece of the mirror had shattered. He sees a figure, covered in blood, its grin as monstrous as a demons. Its teeth stained red, as if it had just finished feasting upon hundreds of helpless men. A single scar runs from his forehead down between his eyes. The demons right eye is reflected through the single piece of glass on the wall. A loud scream is heard then the glass is thrown into the wall next to Dokéshi. The piece of glass reads 'You've not heard my name, but you've seen my face. I know your fears, now that will change.' "Huh?!? What does that mean. Its a riddle right? It must be, thats the only thing it can be." All at once the demon grabs him by his throat and holds him against the wall. Dokéshi, unable to breath, is terrified. The demon smiles then drops Dokéshi. "Huh" he says confused. "Wow, must have fallen asleep thinking again. I wonder what that means." He writes down the riddle. "Of course i dont know its name, have i seen its face? That demon! This riddle must be from that demon. What does it mean my fears will change?" Up until this point Dokéshi wasn't scared of much. He seemed to be the type of guy who couldn't be bothered by little so called fears. Dokéshi saw fear as an excuse for laziness. He hardly ever would say cant. He always did his best to ensure maximum productivity within his life. Especially after the mysterious death of his parents. "The only thing im scared of is a blue shell in mario kart" he chuckles, unbothered by the nightmare he had just endured. He gets up to take a hot shower. "I hope its not cold this time," he says laughing once more. As he looks in the mirror, the same mirror that had previously been on the floor shattered not less than 5 minutes ago, he notices a scar is still open. Rubbing his eyes, "Huh? i thought that happened in my dream." He disregards the pounding heart beat heard from the open wound on his chest. As he steps into the shower he hears a voice. A voice that hadnt been spoken in years. "Dokéshi, breakfast is ready!" His dad would always make breakfast before taking Dokéshi to school. "D-Dad?" Dokéshi says with immense confusion. Confusion however was not the only feeling he was experiencing. How could he have heard his dads voice. He hasn't lived past that day. The day of great sorrow.
