Chapter 21 - Reeling Lorne In!

She had gained a vast distance from the Behemoth and was high in the sky. A handsome face appeared in front of her.

"Lorne?" Her red lips parted slightly, somewhat surprised.

Lorne smiled slightly. "That's right. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine!" The girl shook her head when she heard that. She hurriedly left Lorne's embrace, her face slightly flushed.

The Behemoth spotted another worm swooping in to save its enemy and only grew more furious.

Whoo-hoo!

After a roar, it opened its huge mouth and fired an energy beam at Lorne. It shot at him like a quantum beam.

"Look out!"

Lorne took a step forward, the sword suddenly appearing in his hand. He stood before the oncoming beam and sliced it.

As if sensing Lorn's power, the deep-sea Behemoth let out a reticent cry and sank into the deep sea, quickly disappearing. The huge waves on the surface of the sea gradually calmed down.

Lorne put away the divine sword and turned to look at the girl. "Right, you are..."

To be honest, he did not know this girl. He was a little curious.

The girl smiled slightly. "My name is Aphrodite, one of Olympus. I have always been born in the sea!"

"It's you!"

Lorne was a little surprised.

"You know me?" Aphrodite blinked curiously and looked at Lorne with a charming face.

"I've heard of you!"

Lorne shrugged and nodded.

Well, it seems like this beautiful goddess had not married the God of Fire Hephaestus yet.

"By the way, was that a deep-sea Behemoth just now? Why haven't I encountered any of them after traveling for a long time?"

After thinking for a while, Lorne asked.

Aphrodite was still a little shaken by her encounter. "Yes! They were originally a type of Behemoth that grew in the depths of the sea. Their abilities were very strange, but they were very powerful. If it weren't for you, I would have been killed!"

"Are there many of them?"

"Their race is very powerful, but their numbers are very small. They do not reproduce easily. Otherwise, this world wouldn't be ruled by us gods." Aphrodite explained.

Anyone else would have trouble meeting these beasts. Only people like her who stayed in the deep sea all year round would be able to meet them.

"I see!"

Lorne was deep in thought. Although he felt that he could kill the beast, there were very few beings who possessed that much power. In addition, they were scattered all over the world, so they were not seen as a threat to eradicate.

"Thank you for saving my life!" Aphrodite looked at Lorne with great sincerity and said gratefully.

Unbeknownst to even herself, her eyes had a mythical charm of their own, especially when she was staring at others. Not many gods could not resist the temptation.

"Damn it! As expected of the Goddess of Sexual Desire. The most casual of movements from her would already draw you in!"

Lorne was stunned for a while before he used his great willpower to finally shift his gaze away. He cursed in his heart.

Aphrodite was amused by his reaction, not knowing it had been her doing. She found him interesting.

After the two chatted for a while, a powerful divine power came from the sea and attracted Lorne's attention. Divine aura quickly covered his entire body as he stared at the water tensely.

Something in a greatly weakened state was approaching. Even so, in that weakened stage, its power almost equaled his own. Not long after, the other party broke through the water surface.

It was a middle-aged man. Right after he hovered above the water, he looked at Lorne with great surprise.

The two of them locked gazes. At the same time, a silent battle of strength also began.

The final battle ended with Lorne's victory, shocking the middle-aged god.

It had only taken a moment, and Aphrodite naturally did not notice anything unusual. She happily introduced Lorne, "Lorne, allow me. This is my brother Pontus, the first of the Sea Gods!"

Aphrodite's words stunned Lorne. This was Pontus? He was the first person to ever force him to use his full strength.

So it was this guy. He was a brother of the Mountain God Uriah whom he had met at the tripartite meeting. He was almost one of the oldest gods. It was unsurprising for him to be this powerful.

Then, Aphrodite looked at Pontus. "Brother, he is Lorne, whom I told you about before. He was the one who saved me just now!"

Pontus was shocked when he heard that. He had not expected Lorne to be here.

Then, he looked at Lorne and smiled bitterly. "What an unexpected way to meet! You are so powerful! Thank you for saving my little sister!"

Although he had many brothers and sisters, he was the closest to Aphrodite.

"I never expected to meet a Primordial here!"

Lorne also smiled and replied.

Aphrodite had mediated their meeting, so their conversation was quite relaxed.

"By the way, Lorne, what brings you here?"

Aphrodite then winked at Lorne playfully and asked curiously.

Lorne had already discovered that Aphrodite was very bold and seduction seem to be second nature to her. She was really walking on a tightrope. If there was a chance, he would definitely "teach" her a lesson.

Right now, Lorne could only glare at her in front of her brother. Then, he said nonchalantly, "It's nothing, really. My fiefdom is too deserted. I was just out to recruit a few... guards."

Naturally, he would not specify his actual desires in front of a beauty.

Pontus was a little surprised. "Alright! I wish you good luck!"

After all, with Lorne's strength, as long as word got out, there would definitely be no lack of applicants. However, he was surprised to see a god taking action by scouting for staff on his own. It was most unconventional.

"Thank you for your kind words! If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave first!"

Lorne nodded at Pontus, then glanced at Aphrodite fiercely, meaning that he would be back for her somday.

Aphrodite was not cowed and fought back. Her peach eyes gazed at Lorne with a slight tease, meaning that she was waiting!

When she saw Lorne's figure leaving in a sorry state, she could not help but giggle. She was very happy, which left Pontus sighing helplessly.

"Little sister, I have warned you about the use of your eyes. Be careful with them, or, you will have an accident sooner or later!"

Pontus tried to dissuade her.

Of course, he had noticed his little sister's actions towards Lorne. If that being came at them, he would not be able to stop him.

"It's okay, brother. Don't worry! I'm sure of myself!" Aphrodite said confidently.

Pontus decided not to dissuade her. One day, she would have to learn this on her own.

He looked at Lorne's departing figure and said slowly, "If we let him take action, we should be able to quickly end the war and establish a new divine court!"

Aphrodite shook her head and said, "But he won't interfere. Hera has invited him countless times, to absolutely no avail."

"Maybe..."

Ponus lowered his head and smiled, but Aphrodite didn't hear him.
