Chapter 4 - Know About Her Past

Allynna was mesmerized when she saw his eyes.

With her stuttering voice, she said, "B-but I have to take the graduation exam before leaving this island..."

He nods.

Later, a gold pen and paper appeared on the table.

She was taken aback.

"Sign it!" The man looked straight into her eyes.

"What is this?" She furrowed her brow in confusion.

"Agreement letter, a covenant for our deal."

'Is this necessary? Does he not believe me?' Allynna could only ask herself inwardly.

"Mister, I am a good person. I will never go back on what I say." Allynna stared at his shining golden eyes as if asking his permission; no need not to sign this letter of agreement.

Of course, this man did not respond to Allynna's request. He just sat casually, leaning his back on the sofa. His head tilted to the right, supported by his hands. With his indifferent gaze, he looked at her.

She signed the paper with annoyance after waiting a few minutes.

The young man smiled and then leaned his body toward Allynna. In a flash, he took the paper and pen from her hand.

Allynna froze, realizing her idiocy for not reading clearly the contents of the agreement letter before signing it.

Now, she could only take a deep breath and hope this domineering young man told the truth; he only wanted to make her his wife, not a servant or be sold to someone else.

Suddenly, she got goosebumps at the thought of it.

"Sure. I'll come to you after you finish your exam. You still have two weeks to settle all your matters here."

Allynna was taken aback when she realized in two weeks, she would leave this island.

She had to leave Principal Pearcy's family and Lizzy, whom she considered like her own family.

Sarlun Island holds many fond memories for her; she will keep in her heart all the beautiful memories on this island and will never forget.

Although she felt sad to leave this beautiful island, her goal is more important. She must leave this island to find out her true identity.

...

Allynna suddenly remembered something.

She looked at the young man, who was now staring at her. Again, she felt like she was hypnotized by his brilliant golden eyes.

"Anything else?"

She heard his charming voice ask her, but she was silent and could not say a single sentence.

"Then excuse me... I will see you in two weeks." He stood majestically and walked with vast strides.

Allynna was surprised to see him walking towards the door. She stood up and walked quickly after him.

"Sir, Mister, Young master... how to contact you? How do we meet? And what is your name?"

The young man stopped in his tracks. He turned to look at her.

Allynna also stops. Now she was standing right before him and just realized that the young man was very tall. Her eyes could only see his broad chest. She had to lift her head to look at his god-like face to meet his gaze.

"Miss Allynna, you can call me Leon, and I will find you..." He said, then walked away.

After being hypnotized by his eyes, she realized the man had disappeared from her sight. "Huh!? What does that mean?"

****

Principal Pearcy came into the room.

"Is everything all right, Allynna?"

"Yes, Principal Pearcy." Allynna was silent for a moment, trying to analyze what just happened. After a second, she asked, "Principal Pearcy, do you know that young man before?"

Principal Pearcy did not immediately answer Allynna's question. He walked over to the sofa and sat down. It was like he was thinking about something.

"Little Ally," He called her in a deep, concerned voice.

Allynna was surprised to hear Principal Pearcy call her like that. As long as she remembers, this is the second time she heard him call her that way.

He adds, "Sit down for a moment. There's something I want to tell you."

She was taken aback when she saw Principal Pearcy's face turn grim. Her heart trembled with fear of what he would say.

After a moment of silence, Principal Pearcy finally spoke,  "Allynna, I hope you're not surprised by what I'm about to tell you." He takes a deep sigh and then continues his words, "Before your father had an accident, he said something about your past—" He paused again.

Allynna, who heard Principal Pearcy want to tell her about her past, suddenly felt nervous. However, she tried hard to maintain her calm expression and silently listened to what he was about to say.

Principal Pearcy thought hard about telling Allynna about this news. He didn't want to hurt little Ally's feelings, especially since she had just faced a significant ordeal in her life.

After a deep thought, he finally said, "Little Ally, your parents are not your biological parents. They raised you from the orphanage—"

Principal Pearcy looked at Allynna and tried to see her reaction. He was surprised to see the little girl in front of him seem so calm. She didn't look surprised, disappointed, or sad.

What is wrong? Did she already know?

With wide eyes open, he asks her, "Little Ally, you already know?"

Allynna nods.

"When? Who told you? Your dad? Mom?"

"Nobody. A week before the incident, I accidentally heard my father tell you. Since then, I know." Her vision was slightly blurred by the tears stuck in her eyes.

Allynna tried hard to hold back her tears so as not to burst in front of Principal Pearcy. She didn't want Principal Pearcy, who had helped her so much since her parents died, to be worried again.

Still shocked that Allynna already knew about her past, he continued his sentence, "Well, the young man came from the capital city, Mavaria. He will help you to find your real family. He already told you, didn't he?"

"Yes. He will pick me up after I finish my final exam."

"Good! Uncle will support you and pray that you will find a clue about your family quickly."

"But Principal Pearcy..." Allynna stopped her words when she saw Principal Pearcy raise his hand, gesturing to her to stop speaking.

"Just the two of us, call me Uncle Arathorn!" He said firmly.

Allynna felt grateful when she saw Uncle Arathorn's sincere eyes. She nods in agreement with him.
