Leon walked to the small dining table in the corner near a large window. After sitting in his chair, he asks his Loyal Butler, "Geoffrey, is there any news from the palace?"
He was concerned about his father, the Emperor. It had been two days since his father had asked him to go to the palace, but he refused because he could not leave Allynna alone in this condition. Not when she was helpless like now. He is worried someone would find out she was here and kidnap her again.
And, usually, his father would come to visit him if he turned him down too often. Leon didn't want his father to know a woman was living with him here. He wasn't afraid of him, but this is not the right time for others to know about her, not yet.
"There was no news from the palace. And, so far, no movement that indicates the Emperor would come to visit you here, Your Highness." Geoffrey replied timidly.
Leon is somehow relieved with the information.
After Geoffrey left the living room, Leon started to eat his lunch. He ate quietly, with his appetite gone ever since Allynna was in her transitional state. All he could think of was the girl sleeping like a goddess in the next room.
He finished his lunch in no time. But he didn't go straight into Allynna's room; instead stood near the window staring into the forest. As if something caught his eyesight in the dense forest on the forest behind the castle.
"Sebastian…!"
Instantly Sebastian appeared right behind him.
"Report!" Leon said.
Sebastian saw the Crown Prince's broad and sturdy back facing him and didn't budge. Makes his heart tighten.
"Your highness… We do as your command. But the last few days, we haven't gotten any clues or appearances. And also didn't see any tracks of their movement …." Sebastian's face was nervous when he reported their unsuccessful investigation.
Leon had no expression when he heard Sebastian's report as if he was not interested in what Sebastian said. His eyes were still sharp-looking ahead. From the look in his eyes, it could be seen that something was bothering him at this time.
"That can't be right, Sebastian. But, keep doing what you are doing…." His voice sounded perplexed but icy. It made Sebastian's whole body stiffen.
After a few seconds of silence, Leon said, "Sebastian… Can you feel it?"
Sebastian slightly lifted his head to see his highness back. Confused by his question. "Your highness... please grace your humble servant…I don't feel anything." He doesn't know what's on his mind.
Silent.
After a few minutes, Leon finally moves. He turns and sees Sebastian, "Can you feel there is something strange around here? I mean, in the forest!?" Leon's sharp eyes, making Sebastian lower his head immediately.
Hearing the Crown Prince's icy and deep tone means that he is not in a good mood. Make Sebastian alert and try not to make his anger erupt.
"I'm sorry, Your Highness, but I don't feel it… is there something bothering you, Your Highness?" He asked carefully, worried that the Prince's mood would be changing even worse. What's more, these past few days, he seemed to be protecting something in this castle.
"I briefly saw a red-eyed creature in the forest… I need you to reconfirm it for me." Instructed Leon to Sebastian.
Sebastian was stunned.
This area is safe from all kinds of dangerous creatures. But if His Highness can see and feel it? It means, someone infiltrated that forest? He clenched his fists. He immediately promised the Crown Prince to check it thoroughly then disappeared from the room.
Moments after Sebastian had left, Leon came back into Allynna's bedroom and stood at the side of the bed. He couldn't get close to her because the tremendous force shielding her entire body made him unable to get close. He could only see her from a meter away.
He stood still. Observing her angelic sleeping face. For some reason, Leon felt like his heart was empty without hearing her engaging voice, funny thoughts, and seeing her smile for the past two days.
He felt so close to her and at the same time distant.
"Allynna… when will you wake up? I slightly miss your chatter…I miss your smile and anything about you. Can you wake up soon?" He speaks in his mind.
While occasionally he tries to hear what's on her mind but he can't hear anything at all. It seemed like all her senses were closed. She was in torpor.
He stood still in his place for hours, but nothing changed.
"Dear Allynna, can you not take too long. Please wake up. I will bring you to the hill to see the sunrise or sunset if you wake up..." He softly said as if Allynna was standing next to him.
But the girl's condition is still the same. Nothing changes and happens.
Five days have passed since her birthday. And Allynna was still sleeping angelically.
Leon was starting to worry because his transition period was only two days. As for Allynna, today is the fifth day, and there is no sign of change.
In these five days, he also did not leave his castle. And all his work related to Royal Intelligence and his business was handled by his four trusted subordinates. One of them is Sebastian.
There had been no significant problems for the past five days, except he had some bad news today.
This morning he got word from the palace that The Emperor would come to his castle for lunch. It made him feel uncomfortable, worried that his father would find out about Allynna. Leon didn't want Allynna's identity to be known by others, especially the palace people, including his father.
Leon is suspicious of those around his father.
After finding Allynna, he begins to suspect; that the person who kidnapped her had close contact with his father. Because when he was betrothed by his grandfather to Allynna, only three people knew, Allynna's father, his grandfather, and his father.
Leon trusts his grandfather and Allynna's father.
However, he did not trust his father. Because he had hated him since childhood. He betrayed his wife… so maybe he will betray his own son too.
