Chapter 23 - His Ultimate Vow

"Ms. Kanellis, It's not much. You know my mom, right? She loves this orphan house and the children so much. I'm doing this to make my mother in heaven feel happy. And don't worry about me. I still have money to live. Besides, I don't have to pay anything to continue my studies—" Allynna paused.

She really wanted to continue her words, "—Nor did I have to pay for the house and food. Later, I will live with my future husband in the capital. He is sitting next to me now." But, these words never left her lips.

Allynna's cheeks felt warm at the thought. She quickly shook her head, trying to get rid of her thoughts about her future husband, Leon. For some unknown reason, she always felt that his presence sometimes made her feel comfortable and warm, but there was also a feeling that this man was too dominant towards her.

...

Seeing that Ms. Kanellis was no longer trying to refuse, Allynna smiled and continued, "Hopefully, this money can be used for the children's needs... Ms. Kanellis, please accept my good intentions."

She felt better after donating almost all of her parents' money.

After talking with Ms. Kanellis, she decided to say goodbye. But before she left the room, Leon whispered to her, "Miss Allynna, you wait for me in the car. There's something I want to talk to, Ms. Kanellis."

Allynna felt surprised to hear his request but didn't ask further; she just nodded and left the room. Walking down the corridor, she saw no children in the area. She decided to wait for Leon on the bench outside the building.

A few moments later, Allynna heard footsteps approaching her. She looked back and saw Leon walking towards her.

"Sir Leon, have you finished talking to Ms. Kanellis? Are you also donating to this orphan house?" She asked curiously why this man needed to talk to this orphaned Director.

Leon saw the girl smile broadly and walk towards him. He nodded without answering and motioned her to follow him to the car. He didn't want them to linger in this place.

He didn't want anyone to know that his fiancé was still alive and had lived in this orphanage. If the person who kidnapped her when she was a baby several years ago heard the news about her, then her life would be in danger. Evil people with bad intentions towards her will come after her and anyone she loves.

This time, Leon won't let that happen. He vows to protect the one and only bride he would ever have and might love from any life's threatening perils.

So before he left the Director's room, Leon erased Ms. Kanellis's memories and information about Allynna at this orphanage.

Leon's plan is not only that Miss Kanellis' memory will be erased but everyone who knows about Allynna's true status as an adopted daughter. One of them is Principal Pearcy.

Leon would keep Allynna at his side and use her identity as Allynna Frost. He will not reveal her true identity to anyone until he finds the person who wants to take her life. He will kill the sinner and his offspring. There would be no compassion for those who took what he had.

They walked towards the car that was waiting for them right in front of the gate.

With a sharp look, Leon warned Geoffrey, standing by the car waiting for them, not to glance at the girl. Moreover, when the girl wears very short clothes, he makes a note in his mind he would ask Geoffrey to provide her with new clothes that would suit her new life in the royal family in the capital.

Leon's sudden stop made Allynna hit his back hard.

"S-Sir Leon? Why did you suddenly stop?" Allynna stroked her forehead while narrowing her eyes at him.

Before Allynna continued her words, she suddenly felt a thick coat covering her tiny body. The fresh and hypnotic aroma of mint immediately filled her nose.

Allynna was stunned to find that the black business coat that Leon was wearing was now perched on her shoulders, covering her entire body down to her ankles.

She looked at him and wanted to say something, but Leon ignored her. He was standing at the side of the open car door.

"Hurry and get in the car—" Leon said with his gentle yet cold voice. After confirming the girl was sitting correctly, he closed the door and walked to the opposite door. There's a faint smile on his face before he opens the door and joins her.

"Sir Leon, your coat…." Allynna said the moment he sat on his seat.

"Use it until you change into proper clothes," Leon said. Then, he turned his gaze out the window to tell her he didn't want to talk anymore.

Allynna took a deep sigh silently, knowing Leon had avoided her. She could only smile and do the same, looking out the window.

They traveled to the mansion for about an hour in the opposite direction from Sarlun city center. Allynna had never been in this area before. Because this area is a private place that is not open to the public.

Allynna was curious to see the large road flanked by shady trees. She didn't see any other cars passing on the street on the broad road, only their vehicle. After a while, the car finally slowed when they arrived in front of a large white two-story mansion.

"Geoffrey, please take Miss Allynna's suitcase to the room next to mine," said Leon before the car stopped.

Geoffrey immediately bowed slightly, "Yes, your high… sir." His heart almost jolted out when he nearly called him by his peerage. The crown prince's first order for them was clear before coming to this island. Do not reveal his true identity to anyone, especially the girl he wanted to pick up.

"Miss Allynna, follow Geoffrey upstairs. Change your clothes and come to my study. I need to talk to you..." Leon left Allynna after he ordered Geoffrey to assign a female servant to help her.
