Chapter 24 - The List of Question

"My Lady, after you," Geoffrey's voice made Allynna snap out. She turned away from Leon's back, disappeared behind the door, and looked at Geoffrey.

"So, your name is Sir Geoffrey?" Allynna asks him with her respectful voice. She was sure this thin man was Sir Leon's butler.

"My Lady, please don't call me sir. Just call me by name, Geoffrey," He lowered his head even more, not daring to see her face. Prince Eleon will behead him if he knows; Lady Allynna still calls him 'Sir.'

Allynna was speechless. She felt that the way Geoffrey and the other servants in this mansion treated her was so foreign to her.

She didn't know what she should do or say to them. Moreover, Leon didn't explain how she should act in front of these people. This all made her even more confused.

Allynna walked ahead while Geoffrey told her the way from behind. She glanced at Geoffrey a few times, but this man was still avoiding eye contact with her. She feels amused looking at how he acts before her. Now, she began to suspect that Geoffrey was afraid of her.

After arriving at the second floor, Allynna saw two large doors next to each other. Geoffrey asked her to walk towards the door on the left.

Allynna was mesmerized by the grandeur of the room. It looks so luxurious in her eyes. She had never seen gold-decorated furniture like this before and was blinding her eyes. She stood in her place until Geoffrey closed the door and left her alone in the large room.

She gasped slightly when she realized the room was the same size as the first floor of her house. She looked around, but a few moments later, she felt her head dizzy with this luxury.

Her mind started to guess Leon's status. 'He must be a noble's son with a high status in the empire, right!?'

An ordinary noble family can't have a luxurious mansion on Sarlun Island in an exclusive location away from the public road.

From the information she knew, this location was only owned by the pure royal family, the close family of the emperor.

Allynna stopped by the large glass window overlooking the white sandy beach behind the mansion. Instantly, she wanted to stroll on the white sandy beach and swim in the emerald ocean.

After a few minutes of looking at the stunning view, Allynna looked at her suitcase. She chose to wear a knee-length blue dress. She didn't want to waste time as she remembered Leon wanted to talk to her.

Allynna went to the bathroom and changed her clothes. However, when she exited the bathroom, she saw a small girl standing by the door, waiting for her.

The girl is shorter than her and has short black hair. After a closer look, Allynna thinks she is still a teenager; her age may be the same as her.

"Hello, may I know your name?" Allynna greeted the girl politely. She knew this girl was the maid that Leon asked to help her.

Allynna was suprised when she saw the little girl didn't answer her. Instead, her face turned white as paper. In a hurry, she bowed deeper, not daring to see her. Before Allynna wanted to continue her words, she heard her stuttering voice, "M-My Lady, m-my name is Le-Lella. I will be your servant while you stay in this mansion." she said.

Allynna feels amused, but she is holding back her smile. She must tell Lella she doesn't have to feel intimidated or scared of her. But after Allynna said that, Lella looked even more afraid. Gosh! She can only take a deep sigh at Lella's reaction.

She didn't need her help then, so Allynna asked her to leave her room. But Lella only stood there, not moving a single step. She feels like she wants to cry now. She doesn't know how to face this servant.

After a moment, finally, Lella speaks to her in her soft voice. "My lady, His High… Sir Leon is waiting for you in his study room."

"Can you take me there?"

Lella nods slightly. "My pleasure, My lady. Please follow me," she said.

Allynna immediately followed Lella to Leon's study room. Allynna sorts out her heart and mind on the way to his study room. She is trying to get used to dealing with Leon and the people around him.

Her eyes can see several servants walking down the corridors, and none dared to raise their heads to look at her. They bow deeper when she walks near them. Their actions amaze her even more.

Not long after, Allynna arrived outside of Leon's study. After Lella knocked and announced her presence, the door opened from the inside. Allynna saw Geoffrey open the door, and still, he bowed his head, avoiding to see her.

When she entered the study room, Geoffrey exited and closed the door. Now, in the room were only her and Leon. Instantly, the room felt colder because Leon ignored her presence. He is just sitting at his desk writing something.

Allynna Stood still in her place, waiting for him while glancing at the large window in the corner. She felt joy when she saw a white sandy beach lay before her eyes. And instantly, she forgot his present in the room.

'Gosh... why does the beach here look so pretty? I wish I had the opportunity to swim at this beautiful beach—' She silently talks to herself, immersed in the stunning view outside.

"Miss Allynna, you can sit first," Leon finally speaks. But his eyes, still looking at the paper, didn't glance at Allynna.

Allynna snapped out of her trance. She followed his order and then sat on the sofa. Her eyes looked around the room, which looked neat with luxury furnishings; there was only a large work desk, a bookshelf filled with old books, and a leather sofa set where she was now sitting.

After a few moments, she saw Leon, who seemed still busy with what he was doing. She turned her gaze out the window again, ignoring him.

Her mind was busy thinking about the list of questions she must ask Leon: Which family was he from? Does he come from a royal family with a high title? How old is he? What's his job? And she also wants to know how she should act with the people in this house.

The servants and staff in this mansion didn't seem to welcome her. She had tried her best to greet them politely and smile at them. However, those people just lowered their heads and avoided her. Their response made Allynna feel uncomfortable.

However, of all the questions on the list, the number one question Allynna wanted to know was: Can he really help her find her birth parents?
