Chapter 26
The Cold-hearted Rose Black
Rose, with a warm coffee, strode through the garden, taking in the beautiful air. For some time now, the maids have been giving her an annoying glance, no doubt; That she hadn't visited her mother in the hospital, but none of them dared confront her.
She has been in a mad mood after the maid informed her about her mother's recovery.
She wants to throw a fit, but no one was in sight and she half expected the crazy girls from Paris to locate her, but nothing.
Not only that, but she would have loved to break some born. Just then, a message came on her phone. She brought it out of her pocket to see who it was. "Ahh, father, seriously." He wants her to come over to the hospital, "For what?" Rose opened her and declined but then she thought "It won't be bad to see her face, who knows, maybe seeing my face might send her into a double wave coma." She mutters to herself.
I picked up my phone and replied to my father's message with, 'okay, I'm coming." Grinning to myself, there was a free car to use, since I learned how to drive I never got to try it, "this is going to be fun." I mutter out loud
I went inside, dressed up and came strolling down, as I got close to the car I notice I was being followed. I turned, then saw one guard behind, frowning, "Is there something you want?" I asked, pissed
"Oh, sorry, madam. I just got a message from your father; it seems like, I'm supposed to drive you to the hospital." He replied
"That's news to me," I replied and matched towards him, ", but thank you for the gesture. I'll drive there myself," I smiled
He stared at me coldly. "I'm afraid that will not work. When Mrs Blacks give an instruction, we must follow it," he replied to me coldly, and moved to the car,
I stared after him, if he had any regard for me, he should have obeyed my command seeing that I'm a blood relation to Mr Black. "My mother employed you,?" I asked
He turned sideways "Yes, and so?"
"Hmmm, thoughts as much." I walked closer to him, "Well, am afraid no one but me is driving that car."
"I thought I just made...…" before he could finish, I kicked him heavily between his legs, he fell to the ground grunting in pain "Yo...… Ahhh,"
"I don't know what my mother is planning this time, but before she succeeds, I'll make sure nothing remains of her." I said to him, grabbing the car key from his trembling hand. "You are nothing but a guard, how about you act like one?" I opened the car, got in and drove off.
Before driving to the hospital, I did a drive around town and boy, I was glad that I made a sure decision, it was fun. After spending close to an hour outside, I decided to pop in, as soon as I got there, a guard was waiting to take me in.
As soon as I got close to the room, I could hear a very high-pitched voice, Gloria? Just as I pondered what the argument was about, I heard her say 'I wish she wasn't blood-related to me,' I knew instantly who she was referring to; I pushed opened the door and walked over to her.
I could clearly see the fear in her eyes when I asked if that was her first child... I turned to dad, "Morning dad,"
"You took your sweet time," he replied. Behind him was Doc Clay attending to mother
"Oh, I ran into some issues," I replied to him, lying
"What kind….." he paused as his phone rang; he picked it up, sighing, "I've to take this and you…." Dad said, glancing at me, "Don't leave until I say do." She said and walked out
"Sure…" I replied
As soon as dad walked out, Gloria came to me. "What was that? Why were you asking if this was my first child?" she demanded aggressively. "I hope you are not planning to do anything foolish or so help me God…." She swallowed her words. The moment she saw the anger in my eyes, ignoring her, I went over to mother.
Smiling "It's good to see that you are getting better," I said forcing a smile, at least, you get better to get worsted. I reached out to touch her face, suddenly, and she smacked my hands off.
"Keep your hands to yourself," she said, glaring at me
I smirked, rubbing where she smacked me, grinning. "But of course…." I moved closer to her. "I wouldn't want to catch the miscarriage disease, you know. This is the seventh time, right? Good, remain strong, I have got a feeling more losses are coming," I was feeling better with the horrified look on her face
"Hey…." A male hand grab at my shoulder, "What is wrong with you...how can you say such things to a recovery patient?" Clay spat out in anger
I glanced from the hand to him. "Why don't you shut up and mind your fucking business?" I snapped at him and shoved his hands off; Glaring at him now, "you are a divorcee, right?" I asked, pissed off
"What matters if...…"
"I heard your kids are with your mother?" I asked, cutting him off. "It will be bad if you suddenly wake up and found them dead, right?"
"What did you...." He stopped
In anger, Gloria matched towards me and shoved me hard. I almost fell. "I told you to mind what you say but if ..."
I walked slowly towards her; I didn't just shove at her, I throw her so hard to the ground, and she fell on her stomach. I moved and step between her and glared hard. "I don't have any quarry with your sister, despite all the harshness you made me go through alongside mother. I still very wish to see your child alive, but…." My gaze suddenly turned cold, so cold that it will freeze hell, "if you want me to, I don't have a problem with it. After all,, you will be the one to lose everything, as I did. So I suggest you mind your own business, okay?" I asked, smiling
"Oka-----okay," she answered, trembling, as I helped her up.
I turned a stone-haughty glare to mother, she gasped "You once told me a story about Karma mother, do you remember?" I asked smiling. "Yeah, it's a complete bitch, so, I hope they prepared you for what is coming? Because this time they'll be no escaping, I'll make sure of that," I went over to the counter and poured a hot coffee for Gloria, she stared at me "Drink up, it will calm your nerves. I went for three years doctoring training, so I know, don't be scared." I smiled
"Doctor?" Clay mutters out loud, but I just ignored him
"Thanks," she managed out and took the cup from me
I turned again "Oh, less I forget, mother, I saw the letter you sent for me in Paris," at the mention of that, she wrap her hands over her body and tremble hard "did they not tell you about my reply?" I asked, smiling. "I brought it here with me; I can give you back?" I asked
"What letter is that?" father suddenly asked, appearing out of nowhere.
I smiled knowingly at her; the horrified look she had on her face, right now, was priceless. "Oh, ask your wife's father. I have a feeling she is in a better position to answer that question. A true mother she is." I grinned, as she grabs hold of Clay's hands to support herself
Looking from right to left, "What is going on?" John asked confused, just a few minutes he went out and now, the air in here was death. He turned to me, "What happened?"
"You are asking the wrong questions, father," I said and moved to the door. "You should ask the woman on the bed," I replied him without turning
"And where are you going to?" Father asked
"I need some fresh air. The tension in here is suffocating," I smiled and left the room.
