Chapter 20
My Home
I took in the fresh air of my home, as I walked along the dive way, which was now covered with trees. Honestly, some many things hadn't change, the garage was still there, the flower garden and even the doghouse, but there was no dog. I brought my focus to the big white mansion ahead, it was a three stories building, with balcony hanging from all corners, "Dad said he was going to renovate and change a lot of things" fountains all over and from where I was, you could see pools, the land was big and over to the other side, there was a separate housing, it wasn't there before, it was big and beautiful as well, but painted with a different color. I was so lost in thought and admiration of my home that I didn't take notice of the car horn behind me, until it hit me on the leg, close to my knee; I stood still then turned to the black car. It was hard to see who was inside. With one hand I removed the glass from my eyes as I mouthed the words "Seriously, are you blind or something?"
"What?" a muscular voice said as the car door fling open. "am I blind? Do you know how long I have been pressing the horn for you to take notice?"
I stood silent as I took noticed to him. Oh boy! He was a man; I have seen men before, even naked, but the one standing close to me was the real thing, hair as golden as the sun, eyes as blue as the ocean and body like that of a god. Jesus! He was the definition of beautiful.
"Hey, are you even listen to me?" he asked in an angry tone
Even his pissed face was beautiful. I guess revenge must have dulled my sense of love. "say what?" I ask, look at his mad expression. "sorry, I was too busy admiring your neatly cute beard to know hear what you were saying. So please, what is it you were saying?"
"You pig! How dare you?" an angry female voice said from within the car.
The strange man signed, at the sound of her voice and went over to her; they were whispering to each other, that was when I noticed the two kids inside the car, "seriously, of all the men in the world to awakening your sense of love, you choice it to be a married man, one with kids at that?" I murmured "guess I have to go through another antagonized training."
They stood there arguing among their selves, while I admire the new structure in the house. Just as I step closer to the garden, the woman spoke in a very harsh tone. "Hey, you------"
I pretended not to hear her, since my name was not 'hey you.' I continued touching and smiling the roses, white ones. Father was never a fan of cute things; I wonder just how much he changed.
"Hey, I am taking to you?" she tapped me on the shoulder
"Oh," I stood and turned to her, "were you? I did not know." I smiled
"Don't play dumb with me." She paused and gave me the wired look and honestly, one I didn't like "who are you and how did you get inside the compound?" she turned to the opened gate and then to me
Confused, "Pardon?" she is asking me who I am?
"I am asking how you got into the compound? Who are you looking for? You must have lost your way." She said, looking at the man behind her
He nodded. "That must be it." He walked closer, looking at me. "I've never seen you here with Mr. and Mrs. Blacks or even their only daughter, Gloria. I do not know her to keep much friend, most especially females."
I stared at the couples, speechless 'only child?' so everyone that comes here only sees Gloria as the only child of the Blacks hahaha, ------ I know my so-called mother won't even do anything to correct that impression, if she didn't spread it herself.
Well, If on one was correcting it, then allow me, I looked at the both of them "I am sure, that there is a misunderstanding somewhere, so if -------" before I could say much, I was cut off.
"I'm sure there is." The shitty woman said, seriously she was starting to really piss me off "I don't know what you are trying to pull but you should leave before I call the cops and report a break in." she threaten and turned to her husband. "Honestly, therefore I always complain to Mr. Black, it's not safe to open the gates. We might just wake up one day and find all our belongs gone because this place lack security." She continued,
"That won't happen." He said,
"Really? How would you know? You are not always at home, right? The kids are the only one being left alone inside that big place. What if they were harmed or worst kidnapped, huh?" she said with horror in her voice.
The man signed, "that's enough, Linda. Those things won't happen. So you have nothing to worry about."
"Sure if you say so."
He then turned to look at me. "You should leave before anyone comes out. Trust me, if one of the Black find you here, it won't be pretty."
Son of a bitch, "Oh! Really?" I inched closer to the stupid couple, dangerously "ARE YOU THREATEN ME?" I asked him in an indifferent tone.
"That's not what...."
"Wow, I haven't seen such guts since Paris." I gave him the death cold glare. "If that was a threat sir, I would really, I mean really love to see the Blacks come out and kick me off this ground. I have dreamt of it for years." I said this time they were not a glimpse of laughter in my face.
I could them exchange a look, the woman who obviously didn't know her place yet, glared at me. "I know for a fact that someone like you wouldn't be a friend---------."
I turned to her almost immediately making her swallowed her words "What don't you shut your mouth little woman and talk when you are being talked to, huh?" I slammed her
"Hey, watch your mouth or else?" the man said
"Or else what? Threaten me again? Try it." I dared him.
Just as we stood apart, glaring at each other, I heard a film, but manly calm voice called out to me.
"Rose?" he called with disbelief laced in his voice.
Without turning around, I could tell who the voice belong to. I quickly changed my expression in a way that surprised the couple. I turned around smiling like an idiot "Father."
"Oh, my God Rose?" he moved in a fast pace toward me
As he moved, I move too. We collided, father hug me tight like I will vanish "father." Ah, I miss him. He smelt like home.
"You stupid girl, why didn't you tell me you were coming? I would have picked you up." He asked while still hugging me tightly.
"That's because I wanted to surprise you guys. I'm sorry."
"You are lucky I have a firm heart. I would have had a heart attack." He said with him, in an arm length.
"Nonsense papa, you are a powerful man." But of course, if anything had happened to him, none of the Black family would have survived. I smiled at him.
"Oh my baby, look at you. You are all grown up now. I am proud." He said with a sincere smile.
"Good day, sir," a male voice said from behind us
We both turned around as same time, it was the annoying couples, I almost forgot about them. But father who seems to be familiar with them smiled "Ah, Mr. and Mrs. Clay, it's good to see you."
"Oh, it's just Mr. Clay now, sir." The woman corrected,
"Ah, I see------ the divorce has being completed then. Although I am disappointed in the choice you both made, but if this is what will make you happy, then who am I to object it. So I say congratulation."
"Ah, Hmmmm thanks sir." Mr. Clay said weirdly. "The young lady, is she a friend to the family?" he ask pointing at me
"Oh," father hugged me sideways "you must have meant Rose." he smiled
Mr. Clay looked at his well, ex "yeah! We were about to send her out for trespassing."
"Trespassing? That's nonsense. Allow me to introduce you to Rose Black, my daughter."
Mrs. Clay Ex looked from me to my father. "What? But I thought Mrs. Black said Gloria was the only child. Including the one she is carrying, making it two of them. How come she never talked about this one?" she asked papa, who just stared at her in shock.
While I just smiled "Oh, Mom said that? Ah, she'll never change, but it's being expected after all---- I am the Black sheep of the family." I smiled.
Regaining himself, papa looked at me "Don't start that now."
"What?" I asked innocently. "It's the truth."
Signing, "Seriously Rose. Come, let's go inside. You must be tired from your trip?"
I nodded "You guessed right." I was silent for a while, and then I turned to Mr. Clay. "You guys mentioned something about mother carrying a child?"
Father suddenly cut in. "that's true. After so many tries, looks like God is finally smiling on use. Isn't it exciting?" he grinned joyfully at me. "you are going to be a big sister."
Like that will ever happen. "Yes! Exciting indeed." I said with a fake smile. "I am overwhelmed."
"I know, so am I. now come one, can't wait to introduce you to the soon to be a member of the family." He said happily and match to the car, with my luggage in one hand.
I stood, staring at his back. "Yeah, right?" I murmured with every bit of smile replace with an icy glare.
"You don't seem quite happy to hear such news?" Mr. Clay, who has being observing Rose since the moment she worn a friendly expression when she meets her father, pointed out.
Sighing, I turned to the busy body "Really, son of a bitch, why don't you mind your own fucking business and maybe focus more on your soon to be abandon children."
"What did you just say?" the pissed Ex asked
"Rose!!" father called "Why are you still there? Come on."
"Okay, father."
With even much as a glance I matched over to papa's car, when I heard her whispered to her ex husband
"I hate her. I can't believe we relate her to the Blacks? I presume so Mrs. Black never talked about her or see her as a child of the family."
"I wonder." Clay said,
I stopped and turned to the Larva mouth woman. "Seriously, that is an old tale. I can give you an ear full. So I don't really give a shit about what you or Vivian Black think of me. Trust me, when I say it doesn't give me a sleepless night and neither should it give you as well. Bye, bye." I sped to where dad his, and hop in the car.
I left them both staring at me in shock until Mr. Clay murmured, "is it just me or did she just call her mother by her first name?"
"Nope, I heard it too. A Black sheep indeed."
