"I can't believe my dream of roaming around the martial world is coming true. It is like a magic" thought Naomi.
"So we're going to be participating in the mortal forces combat, this is going to be like a launching programme for us" Kali said.
"And yet instead of us training hard with our blood, sweat and tears we'll be going around? HELPING PEOPLE???_ Lucius said.
"Why do you sound annoyed?" asked Callum. "Because I am, I mean how can they grade our performance that way? It isn't like they would be able to monitor us. They already have a team they want to pick and this is all a set-up seriously" he replied.
"Ahh" Naomi sighed nodding her head. "You don't think they are trying to pick us or something" she asked. "I don't think so, I mean we don't stand out why would they want to do that? Unless they want to lose" Lucius responded.
Naomi and Kali gave him a death stare and he quickly took a glance at Achlys. "Sorry for that"
Anelle and Velocity entered the capital city of Nesha when it was around nightfall and the street were almost empty. They walked at the same pace while leading their horses, "The inn is right here" Anelle said as they stopped in front of a building. A young lad quickly ran towards them and collected their horses "we have rooms available here, please come in" he said humbly gesturing for them to enter. They rested there and the next day they both went to meet the informant.
"I was expecting you, welcome" he said leading them inside. "Have a seat, my name is Zenon and you've probably heard about my reputation as the best informant in this city which is why you're here. Let me guess what you want to know, is it about the killings?" he asked.
"Is it obvious?" Anelle said. He smiled before taking a seat facing them "Of course. A lot of people come here trying to figure out something about him, from the high officials to common people" he answered.
"That means you must have done a lot of research on it?" asked Velox.
"Definitely, I currently do my research and keep myself updated. There is one thing I've found out and that is this man has minion and he is more powerful than you can imagine. It is hard getting something about his identity though, since no one witnessed his killings. That is where my major problem is and probably that of the investigative bureau" he said.
"If there is a pattern in his killings could that mean he is after some set of people?" asked Velox.
"If he is, that means we have to find out how those people are connected........wow you ladies are really smart. I would try to check out the background of those he killed and if they had any activity with someone that would likely affect them" he said.
"How long will it take?" asked Anelle. "In three days, I actually have the list of those people I will just find out their activities" he said.
"Okay then we will leave it to you"
In the palace of Nesha a maid walked into a training ground carrying a board with arrows placed on it. There were several arrows stuck on a target board and a young tall woman stood beside were the arrows were being shot from with her palms clasped and her head slightly bowed.
A hand picked up another arrow and shot it. It hit the target again and she was about to pick up another one when the young maid finally spoke. "At this rate you might destroy the arrow-board" she said. The person she was talking to finally turned her head to look at her. Her hair had the colour of shining silver and her eyes were small and blue.
She was dressed in a royal training attire and was almost eighteen years old. "If it does, it means it wasn't made with quality materials" she replied. "What are you so worried about, your highness? You've been here for about an hour now. You didn't even attend your afternoon lectures" she asked.
"It is because I'm worried about the upcoming mortal forces combat. Father just established the school and he even sent brother there just to secure his power. What if the combat doesn't end up happening?"
"Why would you think that?" the maid asked confused. "Because of the killings, haven't you thought about it. Six months is a long time but this started around one year ago. It has greatly affected Derius trade to other nations. In a state were people are even afraid of going out to eat, who would be willing to engage in a competition happening in another country?"
"You have such profound thoughts, I believe we will be able to resolve this before six months" her maid replied.
"You have faith in people. If only I could get a chance to leave the palace, I will be able to make sure if things aren't already as bad as I'm thinking right now" she said.
"Princess Silver, you should just have gone straight to the point rather than saying all that. Your father has a lot of guest recently I don't think you'll be able to get permission from him"
"Guest? This is the first time I'm hearing this, then I don't think I need his permission" she said smiling. The maid looked at her questioningly before she gasped. "Don't tell me you are thinking of sneaking out" she said slightly pitching her voice
"Shhh........ I don't have to tell you since you already know"
