Jasmine's POV
"You shouldn't feel bad Jasmine, Doctor Alex is always a bit harsh to new doctors but it's for your own good you know, he's just trying to train you and since you're in his surgery team, he's gonna be extra harsh cause any mistake you make, he'll be the one that has to take the responsibility" the lady said and I nodded.
"Yeah I know" I said.
"By the way, my name is Susan, am the anaesthesiologist of the team."
"Nice to meet you Susan" I said with a smile
I got my white coat with my name sewn on it, I also got all the doctor's clothing including the one am supposed to wear during surgery and my stethoscope, Susan also showed me my locker in the hospital.
"You are assigned to the accident ward so when you are not in the O. R with doctor Alex, you will be working there" Susan said and I nodded.
"I already gave you my contact, so call me if you need me" she said.
I muttered a thanks and she left.
I dropped my bag in my locker, changed to the normal blue uniform for doctors and wore my white coat.
I have a feeling my first day is going to be really hectic.
Ryan's POV
"Is there any other surgery we need to perform for today?" I asked Megan after we've finished the first surgery we have in the morning.
"No doctor" she replied
"That's good, I'll be leaving the hospital now, there is a Seminar that I have to attend."
"Okay sir" Megan said and left
I took my phone and saw a missed call from the spy I placed with Alex and I called back.
"I saw a missed call from you, why did you call?" I asked.
🗨️ Doctor Alex has a new surgical assistant, her name is Jasmine Wright, she graduated as the top student from the national University so I think she's really good Sir.
"If she's really good then I can't allow her to be in Alex's surgery team, do whatever you can to discredit her in front of Alex and make Alex throw her out of his surgery team, if she's really as good as you say, then she can't be allowed to work with Alex or she will help him raise Alex's record" I said.
🗨️ I'll do just that Sir
"Thank you Susan, if you succeed in this then I'll raise your pay."
🗨️ I'll definitely succeed then
I ended the call with a smile.
Susan is trustworthy, am sure she'll succeed.
Jasmine's POV
I sat in the doctor's lounge resting.
There have not been much patients in the accident ward since morning.
I guess I was wrong after all, today is not going to be hectic.
I suddenly heard an ambulance blaring and I quickly rushed to the front of the hospital. There were more than five ambulance with patients coming in.
"What happened?" I asked nurse Chloe.
"A petrol tanker exploded, there are many victims and more are still coming in, attend to anyone you can" she said
I quickly rushed to one of the ambulance and a lady was there.
She's badly injured, her head is bleeding and she broke a leg.
She was screaming in pain.
I quickly brought her out of the ambulance and wheeled her into the hospital.
I checked her pulse and it was okay.
"Please save me doctor, am in so much pain" she cried.
"You'll be fine ma'am, I just need to stitch the cut on your head" I said.
I gave her a painkiller and I stitched the cut but she was still in pain.
Her leg is broken and it's need to be reset, she needs surgery.
I saw Susan and I quickly ran to her
"Where is Doctor Alex?" I asked.
"He went to attend a Seminar" she replied
"What am I going to do then, that patient needs an urgent surgery to reset her bone and all the senior doctors are busy with other patients, if only am allowed to perform surgery, I can help her."
"Are you sure you can do the surgery for her?" Susan asked.
"Yes, I am positive"
"Then I'll help you with it but promise me you'll keep it a secret from Doctor Alex."
"Of course I won't tell him, if I do he's also going to be angry with me" I said.
"Then bring the patient, let's go to the O. R" Susan said.
"No, I think we should do a full scanning for her first, she might be injured somewhere else and I also need to know the nature of her broken leg" I said.
"Attend to other patients first, I'll take her for the scanning" Susan said and I nodded
She wheeled the patient out of the ward for scanning and I rushed to the other patients being brought in
Minutes later Susan came back
"I did the scanning and it's just a fracture, no other complications, I've taken her to the O. R already, let's go" she said and I quickly followed her to the O. R
Part of me was a bit scared, if something goes wrong, Doctor Alex will never forgive me
It's just bone resetting, I've learnt it for years and am sure I can do it.
