The following day we all got up feeling refreshed and ready for whatever came our way. We all met back in the grocery store as everyone got something to eat. I spoke with the monkeys to make sure there was no trouble last night. I then asked the wind monkey with Matt if he had any problem last night and found out that he kept talking to it before sleeping.
After everyone was full, it was time to get down to business.
"I have given you the time you needed, and we are about to head out. Any among you that wish to follow us, knowing that there will be danger outside but also opportunities to become stronger?"
"Bro, Sarah is willing to come with us."
Out of the group, all four of the other women and five men chose to follow us. It was better than I thought. Seeing how they acted yesterday and were so content with staying with someone who would press them, I thought they all would stay.
"Ok, this is more than I thought but still better than nothing. Joe ill leave the training of these guys to you. This includes the women because they at least need to be able to protect themselves in case of emergencies."
"I got you, Bro. I'll make them into able body soldiers soon enough."
"I know that outside is scary and dangerous, but if you follow me, hold heartedly I promise to do my best to protect you and make you stronger."
"Joe is my most trusted friend and brother and also a former marine, so you can be sure that he knows what he is doing. I am not afraid to tell you that you can all get powers like we do if you are willing to kill the zombies. That's all it takes to awaken; what power you will get or how strong you will become that all depends on you. If you are willing to work hard and strive to be strong, then you will, but if you are content with the little power you receive, then you will fall behind."
"As for everyone else, since you are staying, I will leave most of the food here and only take what we need."
Joe and I went outside with the new team, and I summoned Blaze and the rest of the monkey team to follow them and protect them.
"Joe, take them to get a bus or something big and strong enough to hold everyone for the trip."
"Wow, look at that amazing tiger; it looks so scary."
"I wonder when we will get one like that."
"Matt, you will also follow Joe so that you get proper training."
"Yes, Boss"
Sam came out of the space pendant with another wave, standing above everyone looking down on them with disdain.
"Sam, You guard the store until Joe gets back."
"Yes, Master"
"Michelle, you and go around and collect one-third of all the things in the grocery store. Then separated them like how they were in the space pendant. Sakura will follow you to give you a hand and let me know when you're done."
"Sure thing Dwayne. Come on, Sakura, we have work to do, and Dwayne, can you summon Snow too? Maybe she can help a little and learn a thing or two."
"Ok cool"
I summoned Snow along with her parents as I wanted to train them to scout for us. Snow went inside the store with Michelle while the other two flamingos waited for their orders.
"You guys can fly in that direction, not too low but high enough to be able to see down below. Your job is to check if there are any powerful beasts or zombies along the road. Report back to Joe or me if you notice anything strong nearby or if you see a large gathering of people."
"Yes, Boss"
Since they are Michelle's pet parents, I told them that they didn't have to call me Master like the rest of them.
Going back inside the grocery store, I discuss what to do to keep safe with the remaining people. I also told them that I would get them if the government didn't come for them after taking care of everything. Because to start my empire, I need people and lots of them. Especially specialists in their fields of work and the best place to find them will be in the city. It's just not the best time to take on something of that endeavor, at least not until I find a place to settle down and rebuild.
Around noon, Joe came back with a tour bus that came equipped with a bathroom and beds. That was a good find, and all ten recruits have awakened their elements, but they are all still low-level.
Sarah awoke the blood element, while Ashley awoke the light element. As for the other three women, their elements were water, earth, and wind.
The men awoke the earth, water, fire, dark, and sound element. I can see that they can grow more robust, especially Ashley and Sarah with the rare elements and the two men with the dark and sound elements. I told Joe to pay special attention to them as those elements are a little harder to train.
The two flamingos also came back with the news that stronger zombies are on the road we will take, but no beasts are around. They also saw some flying beasts, but they were too strong to get too close to them. I collected back my team and got ready to eat before we left for D'ville once more.
All the recruits were showing off their powers to the others, and I could see the envy in their eyes for not choosing to follow them. But there was still the hint of fear because they didn't know what could happen to them.
Joe told me about everyone in the group and who had the most potential, surprisingly, Ashley. She was the first to try and kill a zombie and was eager to get stronger. She is the only one on level three, while the others are all on two. He even found out that those with the light element can heal. This was a great discovery as we can create a healing corps that is also proficient in combat.
All in all, they were pretty good. From the male recruits, the one with the sound element has the biggest drive to get stronger. But it will take some time to learn how to control his sound element because sometimes it affects everyone around him when he uses it. But nothing a little training can't fix.
