Nancy noticed the hands of the men holding her arms, trembling when they heard the warnings.
"Sebastian will eat us alive!" David scolded the man and pulled him aside.
Nancy's suspicions were correct. Samuel was the boy in the picture. Samuel was unknowingly and innocently involved with Sebastian.
Samuel walked toward the men slowly despite receiving a threat.
One of the men quickly grabbed a pocket knife from his pocket and pointed it directly at Nancy's throat.
{Defense Mechanism is in action. The host is required to remain calm.}
Though they arrived late to the scene, Nancy trusted both the chip and Samuel.
Despite having a knife pointed close to her throat, she tried to remain calm.
Samuel kept walking towards her, and the men in front of her kept backing away.
Nancy found Samuel scarier than the men themselves as the light source was blocked, so it looked like a frightening man was walking towards them all.
But it was Samuel. The dense, straightforward, blunt, non-alcoholic, sick bodyguard of hers. Not sick as in physically sick. Sick as in the feeling he gave.
Samuel walked towards them, and they slowly backed off. Even though they warned him that they would hurt Nancy, Samuel emotionlessly walked.
The man stood in front of David to shield everyone from Samuel. He was volunteering to get beaten up first.
Nancy could imagine the polite Samuel, politely refusing to beat him up and saving her without anyone getting hurt as much as she wanted to see him fight 4 men on his own.
Meanwhile, David grabbed hold of Nancy to run away as soon as Samuel got busy. He gestured to the two other men to join the fight to elongate it as much as possible, since allegedly, they were not allowed to touch a single strand of Samuel's hair.
Nancy had no doubts anymore. She waited to see how Samuel would save her and prove to be an actual bodyguard because strictly speaking, all he ever did was take a bullet in her stead. He was guarding her with his body. Now she wanted to see how he'd save her in a situation where he couldn't use his body to get hurt in her stead.
Samuel quietly walked close enough to the man who volunteered to get beaten up. Though, Nancy was sure he'd waste time by dodging around.
But she was wrong.
In the blink of an eye, his neck was in Samuel's grip. Her eyes widened as she saw the veins on Samuel's hand pop up as he tightened his grip.
With a straight face yet an eerie feeling, Samuel tightened his grip enough to lift the man above the ground.
Everyone paused at their places as they saw Samuel choke a man out of his life ruthlessly.
The man struggled in his grip till his last breath before Samuel threw him down.
Nancy felt David shaking in fear. Even Nancy was frightened at the sight. He just killed a man, without letting the man put up a fight.
As the man lifelessly fell, Nancy screamed in fear. This was the first time she had seen someone kill another person so easily.
The two men ran past Samuel for their lives, leaving David alone. David was shaking involuntarily.
"You may run if you want to," Samuel announced in a husky, emotionless voice.
David let go of Nancy and walked sluggishly towards Veronica, picking her up from the chair and running away from the room.
Watching him run away, Samuel walked toward Nancy.
"Stop!" Nancy screamed at him with her hand gesturing to him to stay away.
Usually, he would oblige. But something was wrong with him today. He ignored her pleas and walked closer.
Nancy screamed before bursting into tears, unable to move.
"Stop!!"
She was scared of him. She needed to run away like the rest.
"Please, stop."
Nancy suddenly recalled how he repeatedly told her he was dangerous. Maybe this was what he meant.
Nancy fell on the ground in fear, crying her eyes out. He showed no emotion.
No… That wasn't Samuel. That couldn't be Samuel.
When he reached close enough, he offered his hand to her, like he normally would. She slapped it away out of fear, instantly regretting it as she looked into his bloodthirsty eyes.
He gave her just a second to compose herself a little before holding both her arms and pulling her up so she could stand. She could feel his grip tighten if she tried to move slightly to break free. That made her not struggle at all. She just quietly sobbed in his arms out of fear. He would never do what he was doing.
He moved his hands to her hands. Grabbing one tightly, he walked her out of the room, and she unwillingly followed.
She could see everyone wasted on the ground. He ignored them and walked her out of the club.
He pressed the unlock button from his car keys and opened the door. From the corner of his eyes, he patiently waited for Nancy to get inside herself. But she couldn't move from her spot at all.
He pulled her toward the car and pushed her down the seat gently. Before closing the door, he leaned in to see if she sat properly.
Their eyes made contact.
His eyes were unexpectedly scary. Her eyes were red from all that crying.
He moved his hand slowly to her cheek before wiping her tears off with a straight face. She couldn't dare to move an inch.
{System closing all defense mechanisms.}
Nancy sniffed as he closed the door and walked around to sit in the driver's seat. The chip didn't see him as a threat even after watching him snap a man's neck with a single hand.
Nancy sat there as she still trembled in fear. She wondered if she could say anything to him. How would he react?
Normally, she would say anything that ever came into her mind right away. But right now, after what she witnessed, she wasn't sure if she could trust this man.
She really wasn't sure.
Without saying a single word, he dropped her off at her house, making sure she went inside as usual before leaving.
She wanted to believe what she witnessed was a mere nightmare. But unfortunately, it couldn't get more real than this.
