The fire alarms went off in the detention center early in the morning. It was a small and controllable fire, but two unfortunate criminals passed away in it; a serial murderer on death row and Sebastian.
When Marco received the unfortunate call, he knew what happened and why. Everything happened just as he had expected. Someone out there couldn't let the secret of Sebastian's immortality out, causing the fire before he could be hung. Or they had different plans, something even Marco couldn't guess.
"Either way," Petrenko, who found joy in hanging out with Marco, muttered, "The kids don't need to know about it, y'know?"
Marco stood up from his chair, turning around to look out the window behind his desk. Petrenko laid back on the couch and sighed.
"Look, there was nothing you could do about it," Petrenko said, "Just let it go. You can just let it go as long as they don't come after the kids again."
