Samantha Hoover opened the door to the first bell, surprised to see who had come to bid farewell to her late husband.
"You came?" She wasn't expecting him to show up.
Samuel simply nodded. He was the only one properly dressed for a funeral because even Samantha hadn't changed yet. Samantha stepped away to give him a way to enter the house. Then a train of people followed behind him, something that she hadn't expected.
They all took seats in the lounge while Samantha went upstairs to call her daughter.
"She looks fresh," Amy whispered to Nancy.
"Duh!" Nancy exclaimed. "Would you love a husband like Bradley?"
Amy shook her head quickly. No one would want a husband like Bradley. Nancy found it ridiculous. She had heard paragraphs from Samuel about how angelic Bradley was. And here, his wife looked like she couldn't care less.
Nancy's assumption was strengthened when Bradley's daughter entered the room with her mother.
