"It's working!" Nancy exclaimed in joy and excitement. "Fuck yes, Hertwig!" She jumped playfully.
"Don't be happy yet, please!" Hertwig pressed his hands together as if in prayer. "Don't jinx it yet."
"Weren't you an atheist?" Nancy raised an eyebrow.
"Does that matter?!" Hertwig clenched his teeth sternly. "Nancy, focus! If this doesn't work, I swear, I'll throw you down a building."
A hiss emerged from a corner, making the two maniacs look toward its direction. The librarian had picked them out for the 10th time already; his stern eyes were enough to shut them for the next 10 minutes. The two had visited the library in hopes of leveling the system up by reading old journals and historical pamphlets. So far, it had been working well enough, and Nancy's chip had gained 80% extra experience by reading alone.
