With Hertwig out of sight, Samuel and Nancy were left alone at Samuel's apartment. Samuel sat on one of the chairs along the counter, right in front of Nancy. He sat such that the back of the chair was in front of him, just below his collarbone, and either of his legs hung about the sides of the chair. He pressed the back of his hand against his chin, the arm being supported with his elbow held firmly against the table.
His eyes met Nancy's eyes, who was seated right in front of him.
"You seem to have a lot of questions," Samuel said. "I will not answer any."
"What makes you think you won't?" Nancy smirked in confidence as she leaned forward towards the table.
Samuel sighed. "I take it that you will not want to go back home unless I answer those questions?"
"You've gotten smarter-"
"Nancy."
Nancy slipped her tongue back.
"Samuel."
