Earlier that night, some time before the banquet, there had been a discussion.
Knock three times on the door before entering. Delaney hated this command. But the man on the other side was dangerous. Iorwerth would even kill for it.
"Come in."
The woman did as she was told.
She folded her hands on her back, the door closing behind her. The room she's in was decorated with anachronistic furniture – an empty brick fireplace to her right, and nailed on top it was the head of a stag. She found it a useless attempt at a threat.
There was just one window inside the chamber, and the light shining through it somehow only managed to make it look darker than it already was.
"What have you to say, Delaney?"
She straightened. "Everything is finally set in place, and the people we're expecting have come."
