The teacher Mrs. Galilee came into the classroom. She was a skinny middle aged woman with strawberry blonde curls and tan skin wearing a blue blouse and dark jeans.
Natalie looked at Mrs. Galilee's mouth and saw her pointed teeth; vampire teacher. She heard Stephan snort next to her and when she turned to look at him, he was waving a long staff that came out of nowhere set with a glowing ruby at the tip.
He was staring at Mrs. Galilee and all the while, twirling the staff, it grew shorter and thinner until it was no longer than a pencil, the ruby glowing brightly all the while.
Natalie shuddered as she realized that he was a warlock and hastily moved back one seat, bumping into a girl werewolf and ended up falling onto the floor. The girl jerked her head up and stared at Natalie, then she grinned and with surprising speed, picked Natalie up and set her on the chair, sitting up.
Natalie hurriedly apologized, "I'm so sorry! And thank you."
"It's fine, your welcome." the girl stared at Natalie, gasped and said, "You're a werewolf too! Aren't you?"
"Yes I am," Natalie said, growling and smiling, "my name's Natalie,"
"Wow, my name's Lilliana," the girl said grinning broadly, "I'm so excited to finally meet you! If you need any help with anything, just tell me, I can almost do anything.'
"Thank you, well there is actually something you can help me with," Natalie said thoughtfully.
Lilliana jumped up and whispered, "What do you need help with?"
"I need you to help me by distracting Stephan, that warlock over there." Natalie replied.
"Sure!" Lilliana answered joyfully, then she cocked her head to the side, "But why?"
"I accidentally took something and I need to give it back to him without him knowing I ever took it." Natalie murmured to her. "But you need to cause a huge distraction because he is a warlock after all."
Lilliana said, "leave it to me."
Lilliana went over to one of the guys sitting nearby, a brown haired fey knight and started arguing with him about whether or not fey beings should go to such a high class school such as Enchantress Academy. Then she transformed into a wolf and started growling and advancing towards the fey. People around them backed away and all Mrs. Galilee was able to do was to shout loudly and curse.
Just at that moment Stephan strode over there and raising his shortened staff he waved it and it grew to about 5 feet long. With the ruby sparkling he raised the staff pointing towards Lilliana and whispered something incoherent. The ruby glowed blood red and shot a scarlet flame towards Lilliana and she transformed back into her human form.
Natalie took this time to run over to Stephan's backpack and took the note from her pocket. She zipped open the backpack's front pocket, almost tearing the zipper from the sleeve, and slipped the note inside quickly.
Turning around however, she saw Stephan hovering over her staring at her menacingly. "What the hell are you doing with my backpack, mermaid!" He thundered.
"Fuck," Natalie froze and the blood rushed to her face, she suddenly felt her heart racing and feeling nauseous she closed her eyes. Then her feet buckled beneath her and she felt like she was falling into nothingness.
Just as she was about to fall however, Stephan caught her and carrying her in his arms he carried her out of the classroom, down the stairs, and into the hospital wing. Mrs. Futatis the healer hurried over to him and lead him to a bed next to one of the windows.
"What happened?" Mrs. Futatis asked worriedly, then after checking her pulse said quickly, "She's going to be alright, I think it's a stress faint. But please tell me what had happened, and what she is."
Stephan replied coolly, "She's a werewolf and I had saw her talking to a vampire, the vampire was a really mean guy and I didn't want her to get hurt so I went over and told him to go away, after that the vampire did something to her and then she just collapsed."
At this point, Natalie had woken up but couldn't open her eyes since her head ached so badly, but she heard what Stephan had said and wondered why he had saved her and told Mrs. Futatis a lie about what had happened. Just then, Mrs. Futatis saw her to be awake and poured a concoction of something and handed it to her. "Here, drink this and you'll feel better." Natalie drank it and her head cleared right away and she sat up and looked about her, Stephan was gone.
Natalie said a hurried thanks and left the hospital wing, she pulled out her phone and texted the group chat, 'let's meet at the usual stairs.' She hurried over to the bottom of the main stairs and the bell rang signaling the end of first period. She waited only for a few minutes.
Shortly after, everyone was there.
"So did you do it?" asked Tiffany worried.
"Well I did, but then I fainted-" Natalie began.
"Oh my god!" shrieked Delia, "are you okay?"
Jackie leaned forward to Natalie and sniffed, then she pulled back coughing, "What is that awful smell?" She managed to choke out.
"It's the smell of a warlock," Natalie said.
"Allow me to help!" Gertrude said brightly.
"Ooo, another piece of mermaid magic performed by Gertrude!" exclaimed Stella. Kaitlin laughed at this and Gertrude smiled.
She waved her both her hands and started walking around Natalie all the while waving her hands. After completing a full circle, she whooshed her hands up dramatically and smiled. "There you go!" Gertrude said in a sing-song voice.
"Thanks!" Natalie said appreciatively.
"Now back to the matter on hand, what happened?" Tiffany asked.
"Well I met this girl named Lilliana and-" Natalie started.
Kaitlin interrupted, "She's in my third period."
Natalie smiled "Nice, well she helped me by distracting Stephan and then after I put the note in his backpack, he was like there and he scared me and I don't know exactly what happened but then I just fainted." At this Jackie and Delia gasped. "Then when I woke up I was in the hospital wing and I heard Stephan telling Mrs. Futatis what happened, but he lied about everything, and after I fully woke up, he was gone."
"That's interesting," Tiffany said slowly.
"Well now what do we do?" asked Delia just as the bell rang.
Kaitlin thought for a while, "let's meet at the cafe after school."
"Okay." they all agreed and went off to second period.
