When Kali entered the forest, several nostalgic memories entered her head. East Forest wasn't any forest, it was a forest that was filled with memories of Kali having fun with the members of Fairy Tail.
She remembered she would follow Natsu and Happy to go fishing. Though, it was quite disastrous when Natsu dived into the river hoping to catch a fish with his mouth.
The memory made Kali chuckle lightly, those times were fun. Since the climate was warm around here, a variety of plants, and animals could be seen in the open. They were pleasing to the eye.
Kali looked around and saw that no damage could be seen anywhere. But she was sure she heard a loud sound of something being destroyed in the forest.
'Perhaps I'm not deep enough?'
With that thought in her mind, Kali decided to go further into the forest. Luckily, there were trails, and signs that told her which direction led to where. It's been a long time since she's been here after all.
Kali took the trail to the right that went downhill. That was when a sudden breeze of cold wind came at her which caused her black hair to flutter in the wind. It stopped once the wind was gone.
"I see, I'm going in the right way then." Kali muttered. She was a mage for a long time, she had enough experience to tell what an ominous sign was. The sudden cold win was one of them.
As Kali progressed further, the more the temperature dropped. Soon, it was already freezing when it was warm earlier. It was at that time Kali realized she was close.
Suddenly, the same loud sound appeared. Kali turned her head towards the direction to see the roof of a cabin coming at her at a high speed.
With her quick reaction time and reflexes, Kali applied a bit of speed magic, and dashed away to avoid the roof. The sound of the roof crashing against a tree could be heard behind her.
"Oh? You were able to dodge that? I guess that wouldn't send a wizard that was weak." a figure with a male voice said.
Kali's eyes followed the figure as he emerged from the darkness and made himself clear.
He was a tall and muscular figure with extremely long dark hair that was tied into a ponytail. By his appearance, Kali could tell he was quite old.
"So you're the S-Rank wizard I need to defeat. Let's take our time, I'm not in a hurry anyway." Kali said.
The figure frowned, not only did she disrespect him, she also completely disregarded him of his existence.
"Take our time you say… I hate to say it, but you don't have much time left."
"Eh. Your name?"
"Bluenote."
"Kiya."
After a short exchange of introduction. Bluenote immediately casted a spell above Kali.
"Fall."
Kali suddenly felt a bit of weight on her shoulders, when her eyes scanned the magic that was casted on her, she immediately recognized it.
Gravity Magic.
"I have to say, your magic is quite strong." Kali said with one knee on the ground.
"Haha! How do you like it? Seeing your bravery to come to me, I'll spare your life. But you have to beg! Beg to live!" Bluenote shouted with laughter.
Kali lifted her head and stared into Bluenote's eyes.
"You know, I'm quite surprised." Kali said.
"Surprised about what?"
"Surprised that a corpse is talking."
Bluenote's eyes widened in shock. Kali had disappeared from where the spell was casted and had reappeared in front of him.
"Stay dead, you corpse." Kali said as she performed a few hand signs with one of her hands. "Binding Ice."
Chains created of ice erupted from the figure and started covering Bluenote's body. However, the spell "Fall" was casted on himself causing the chains of ice to break. Kali jumped back to avoid the spell.
"I guess you aren't labeled S-Rank for nothing." Kali said as she wiped off small shards of ice from her shoulder.
"I didn't expect they would send another S-Rank to defeat me. The capital must have a lot of money in their hands, huh?" Blue note said.
"It seems you know that the capital is after you. If so, why do you stay in this forest that is filled with open areas?"
"That's because the capital has no power, all of their mages are weak. I could easily crush them, but suddenly a person like you appeared. How troublesome."
"After seeing me, you want to give up now? Your magic has no use on me, I've gone through training that would make hell seem like a nice place."
"Don't speak nonsense. I commend you for being strong, however, you aren't as strong as me. You will be defeated."
"Then show me you can defeat me, it's been a long time since my defeat against someone."
Right as Bluenote was about to attack, Kali reacted faster than him. She formed a fireball with one of her hands and threw it at Bluenote who easily dispersed it. However, he didn't notice the chains of ice that were now tied around his legs.
This was another problem with Gravity Magic. Because it was a very strong magic that used Gravity itself, it needed a lot of focus to cast it which caused the user to have several blind spots no matter how skilled they were.
Bluenote frowned, he was currently in an unfavorable situation. If he casted the spell on himself, she would definitely use this chance to attack. However, if he attacked her, she would definitely use the chains of ice to her advantage.
Bluenote cursed under his breath, he didn't expect Kali to see through his weakness so easily. But he was confident that the battle would end in his favor.
With that said, he placed one of his hands over the other, with the fingers of both bent, and then clasped them together. A dark orb was created between him and Kali.
"Black Hole."
The orb generates its own gravitational field, drawing in everything around itself, and also increases in strength and size after a short period of time.
Strong pressures of him caused Kali to move forward but quickly forced her feet on the ground to stop herself.
"Now then, what will you do, Kiya?"
