-The next day/School campus-
Luna stood in front of Rakaia and Cana in the training room, her arms crossed as she was about to stay true to her word and train Rakaia, with Cana being an extra edition.
"Ahh, this is going to be so cool!" Cana exclaimed happily. "We get the train with the great Luna herself!" Her face was pure as a child on their birthday a large smile could be seen spreading across her cheeks.
"The great Luna…." Luna gave her a slightly bewildered look as she lightly rubbed her chin a bit. "I don't know about that, but regardless, Rakaia…" She turned her head towards him. "We got to make sure that you're ready in a few days, we don't have long, so we can't waste time." She told him as Rakaia nodded his head in approval.
"Yea, I know." He responded. "Mariko gave me permission to train with the time I have left, but I do have to make up for the work that I miss out on." He replied as he turned his head towards Cana for a moment, looking at her with a bit of worry on his face.
"Um, Cana," Rakaia called her name causing the smaller teen to look up at him. "Aren't you skipping out on…."
"You of all people don't need to worry about that." Cana cut him off, causing Rakaia to tilt his head at her for a brief second. "What? I did a lot of my work beforehand if anything I sit in class bored while I watch you struggle with assignments." Cana gave him a slight smirk as Rakaia gave her a deadpanned light-hearted glare.
"Hey, don't give me that look," Cana told him as she turned her back towards him, crossing her arms displaying fake anger. "If that punching bag wasn't all you cared about then you could have been right there with me." She turned around, sticking her tongue out at him.
"You still could have helped me you know," Rakaia retaliated. "Geez, some friend you are," He added on as Cana whirled around to lock eyes with Rakaia.
"Excuse me!" Cana shot back. "I tried to tell you that you needed to be sure that your work was done before you went off and started training, but would you listen to me? Noooo!" Cana got in his face as their foreheads began to push one another back.
"Well, if you knew that I was falling behind then maybe you could have taught me something, instead of just letting me drown in the depressing waters of school, you idiot!" Rakaia pushed her forehead back with his own.
"Who are you calling Idiot? Idiot!" Cana and Rakaia growled at each other as Luna just stood there and watched the scene unfold in front of her. A sweat dropped and formed on her head as she raised her right hand to her mouth.
"Ahem, you guys; I don't mean to interrupt; but, we got some training to do," Luna told them as both Rakaia looked at each other for a second and then at Luna. "Come on, we can't let any more time slip away; let's get started." She instructed both Rakaia and Cana as they turned their head toward each other, nodding in unison,"
Alright!" Cana lifted off her feet with a light jump as she bounced around a bit. "I can't believe it, I'm about to get locked hands with Luna Kazahaya," Her face was filled with glee and admiration as both Rakaia and Luna gave her a bit of a weird look.
"Cana, are you sure you can handle something like this?" Rakaia asked her, rubbing the back of his head."I mean I know she's a celebrity and all, but don't you think that you should be getting ready instead of admiring her."
"Don't you think that you need to be thanking her a bit more for even agreeing to be training you?" Cana shot back.
"Why you?" Rakaia gritted his teeth at his best friend as Luna could only stand there and stare in disbelief. "She's training me! Who said that you could come along, it's not like you have a big fight coming up or anything!" Rakaia shouted at her, getting in her face again.
"Well for your information, Luna agreed to train me first!" Cana retaliated. "We were just waiting for you to stop being "Mr. leave me alone" all the time and open up."
"Guys…." Luna called out to them, but her words went unheard as both Rakaia and Cana got into each other's faces once again.
"Well, excuse me for trying to take care of things on my own." Rakaia shot back.
"Guys…" Luna called out again.
"And look where that got you!" Cana growled again.
"GUYS!" Luna screamed loud enough to stop the sibling-like bickering between the two. "Geez, can we just get started already; we really don't have time to be arguing back and forth. I'm training you both so come on, let's focus." She rubbed her temple a bit as both Rakaia and Cana stared at Luna slightly wide-eyed for a bit before they returned their looks towards each other, nodding their heads; a serious expression plastered on their faces.
"Alright now let's see what you can do," Luna stated quickly getting into her fighting stance.
Rakaia and Cana appeared a bit confused at Luna's comment."Wait, you mean…" Rakaia pointed at her. "You against the two of us." He ended by pointing at Cana and himself.
"Are you sure about this?" Cana asked her, slightly worried about Luna's request. "Are you sure you don't want a one-on-one or…."
"No, It's going to be you two against me." Luna interrupted, still in her fighting stance. "Two on one, I can figure out all I need to know this way." She stated as both Rakaia and Cana looked at each other one more time before shrugging their shoulders.
"I hope you don't regret this," Rakaia warned her.
"Yea, Rakaia and I together is a serious threat," Cana added in as Luna formed a smirk on her face as she watched as both Rakaia and Cana got into their traditional fighting stances.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine," Luna assured them. "Now let's go, come at me with everything you got!" Luna shouted as both Rakaia and Cana lunged at Luna without a second thought. Luna watched as the two ran at her, with Cana being the slightly faster one.
She tightened her grip as her fist remained balled as Cana edged out in front of Rakaia and quickly went low, using her legs to try and sweep Luna who quick to a step back to avoid Cana's leg sweep, but immediately saw Rakaia rushing her with a barrage of right hands, forcing her to defend against her onslaught. Rakaia was using his size over Luna (How very little it might be) to advance on Luna, but Luna quickly found an opening in Rakaia's attack and sidestepped one of Rakaia's blows, catching him with a forearm in the side of the face, sending him stepping to the side.
Cana quickly took Rakaia's place and continued the barrage assault on Luna, who basically matched Cana blow for blow. Every punch Cana threw was countered and returned by Luna who quickly put Cana on the defensive as Luna threw a few more punches of her own, catching Cana in the face before spinning around placing her foot into her stomach, kicking her away into the ground.
"AAAGGGHHHH" Cana screamed as her body hit the ground. Luna had no time to celebrate as Rakaia quickly replaced Cana and tried another wild combo on Luna, but Luna grabbed his arm after he tried to knock her head off and flipped him over his shoulder, tossing him beside Cana.
Luna stood up straight looking down at the two as they picked themselves. "I hope that is isn't it, if it is we got a long way to go." She assured them as both Rakaia and Cana looked at each other.
They both nodded their heads before getting back up, getting ready for round two. "Let's not hold back, let's take her down Kaia." Cana gritted her teeth as Rakaia joined her.
"Alright, a one, two finish!" Rakaia quickly rushed towards Luna, appearing to Luna that he was about to attempt the same tactics that he did beforehand.
"Rushing me isn't going to…." Luna was cut off and placed in a state of bewilderment as Rakaia leaped up in the air towards her. " What the…."
Luna had completely taken her eyes off of Cana and completely was unaware that Cana had rushed her from behind Rakaia, quickly performing a powerful leg sweep attempt, catching Luna off guard, causing her body remains in the air for a bit as Rakaia was coming down towards as he pushed his right arm forward, getting ready to take Luna down in one punch, But Luna would not be beaten so easily. She quickly reached behind her with both hands, performing a handspring backflip, catching Rakaia with the tip of her foot, knocking him back into the air, stopping his attack in one fluid motion as she landed on her feet.
Cana didn't have time to get up as she looked up to see Rakaia falling towards her, landing on her with a hard thud, as the two groaned in pain; defeated.
"Ow….."Cana groaned in pain. "What the hell Kaia, you were supposed to take her down, what the hell happened?" Cana asked Rakaia as Rakaia sat up off of Cana.
"Hey, I don't blame me; I didn't expect her to pull off a move like that." He groaned back, rubbing his chin.
"You two are pretty good as a team, but no matter what you do it won't be effective to anyone outside your class." Luna walked towards them. "You have to take in the fact that your opponent may try to throw you off."
"Or do backflip kicks," Rakaia grunted rubbing his chin, sitting down cross-legged as he looked at Luna who slightly giggled at his comment.
"Yea or do backflip kicks." She repeated his words as Cana sat next to Rakaia, looking up at Luna as well.
"So how could you tell where you were for you even to pull something like that off?" Cana asked her. "You couldn't have known how far you were off the ground." She added as Luna smiled at her.
"It's called being aware of your surroundings," Luna told her as she began to teach the two. "Also, the distance." She added as both Rakaia and Cana quickly looked at each other with confused expressions on their faces.
"Distance?" Rakaia asked, clearly not getting what Luna was trying to say.
Luan sighed a bit before answering him. "Ok, let me start from the beginning," Luna stated as both Rakaia and Cana kept their eyes locked on her as she began to explain her teachings. "You know me as Luna Kazahaya, a professional Extreme Martial Arts fighter, or XMA fighter for short, that specializes in Kickboxing." She started as both Rakaia and Cana nodded. "In XMA, each fighter specializes in a different fighting style, some more than one and others more than a few." Luna continued on. "Kickboxing, is a combat sport based on punching and kicking, historically developed from Karate, but modern kickboxing is mixed with Taekwondo and boxing, following so far?" Luna asked them as both Rakaia and Cana nodded their heads again, appearing in a chibi version form of themselves Luna couldn't help but shake her head at the sight.
"Alright then let's continue," Luna stated as she quickly appeared as a teacher with a chalkboard behind her with a pointer in her hand. "Distancing and being aware can go hand and hand, being able to judge the distance between you and your opponent is crucial before you launch your attack." She tapped the pointer on the board a few times.
"How come Ms. Kazahaya!" Cana raised her chibi hand in the air.
"That's a good question Cana." Luna turned and smiled. "If you're not close enough when you throw a punch, you'll end up reaching for your opponent and you won't generate any power behind your attack, if you're too close and try to kick, your opponent will probably jam your leg, that's why a good fighter will have to be a bit scientific and have full knowledge of the distances between him and the person he's fighting, whether they're close or apart," Luna explained.
"But how will you be able to tell if you're too close or not?" Rakaia was next to ask."It's not like your opponent is going to give you time to figure it out." He questioned her as Luna closed her eyes and smiled at Rakaia.
"That's why you're going to figure out, First hand…." Her smile remained as Rakaia blinked a bit, confused at what she meant.
-Moments later-
"AAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!" Rakaia screamed as he flew face first into the ground as Luna stood behind him with her hands on her hips.
"You were too far away," Luna told him as Rakaia slowly began to pick himself up off the ground. "How do you expect to knock me out when you're punching from that distance?" She kept her eyes locked on him as Rakaia was up on his hands and knees breathing hard as Luna continued to look down at him. "You got to find a way to get in close to your opponent, at least close enough to get a clean hit." She added as Rakaia glanced back at her.
"Can we…Move on to...Something else." He breathed heavily.
"Not until we get the basics down, if you can't get the basics then there's no point, you're as good as beaten, now come on; we're going to keep trying until you get it right," Luna instructed as Rakaia groaned with Cana sitting on the sideline with a bag of popcorn in her hand, stuffing her face as she watched as Rakaia got up and repeatedly knocked back down.
"Again…" Luna's voice was heard in the background as Rakaia's groans soon followed.
-Meanwhile, Outside of School, an abandoned park-
A cloudy sky hovered over an abandoned park, it appeared run down with nature reclaiming what was rightfully hers. The playground was covered in dirt and moss, the pavement appeared to be old and in need of some tender, love, and care. The park almost appeared to be trying to grow into a small forest with a few small shacks that were stationed in various spots of the park.
The water was dirty and brown as no eyes could see through its murking surface. Walking along the path were the Viper brothers, clearly lost in their thoughts about the upcoming match. "Are you sure you're not going to train Saitou?" Kaitou asked him, "I'm sure that little punk is going to get that ex-pro fighter to train him, don't you think you need to get ready?" He asked him as Saitou ignored him completely.
"Kaitou's right?" Maitou intervened. "I'm sure he'll come ready this time around, you can't let him sneak up on you or he'll…."
"Or he'll what?" Saitou whirled around, cutting off the bigger brother." Get lucky and knock me out? Don't kid yourself. I told you, I'm taking that little runt down, end of story." He stuffed his hands in his pockets as he continued to walk down the path they were on.
"But Saitou what about…."Kaitou stepped forward.
"Screw her!" Saitou yelled as he continued to walk ahead. "I don't give a damn what kind of training she puts him through, he's not beating me and that's a fact." He growled.
"That's a lot of barking I hear you doing?" A female voice spoke up, catching the three Viper brothers by surprise. "And here I thought you were a snake, not a dog; silly me," A pair of yellow eyes closed for a second as a seductive smirk crossed her lips. "But I guess, not all dogs are bad. They certainly aren't worse than harmless snakes, now those are just useless." She lightly glanced behind her to see the Viper brothers standing there, their jaws hanging low at the sight of her. "You three wouldn't happen to harmless snakes, right?" Her gaze fixed on the three with both Kaitou and Maitou nervously afraid of her as they quickly shivered behind their older brother, Saitou.
"Visha…" Saitou lightly hissed as he eyed the green-haired female. her fairish pale skin was coated with a White Green and Purple Jacket, that remained unzipped, showing off a white short sleeve T-shirt that covered her chest but exposed her belly button. Her green hair was encased in a black, green, and purple hat that sat on her head, facing backward. Her legs were covered with a pair of Black Jeans shorts, with a pair of Black boots with gold trim along the ankle of them.
"Little Saitou?" She continued to smirk at him as Saitou lightly gritted his teeth at the name. "How has everything been going? I've heard you've been a very busy boy lately." She asked him as Saitou continued to speak for him and his two brothers.
"That's none of your business Visha," Saitou responded.
"Ah, come on; is that really any way to speak the second in command, I am Basilisk's right hand, after all, his pet has the other, but hey we're not counting that." She continued as Saitou lightly rolled his eyes at the vixen teenager that sat on an old rock by the murky water.
"What do you want?" Saitou asked her, trying to get straight to the point of her appearance.
"Oh Saitou, I just wanted to check up on you and your brothers to see how you were doing." Visha hopped down off the rock and seductively made her way over to the brothers. "I've heard you've been making quite a lot of noise lately, not saying that's bad, but I hope you didn't forget what your real purpose is right?" Visha slithered her way up to him, her finger caressing his chest as Saitou look a bit disgusted, but remained still as his brothers jumped away from him. "You know what happens when we forget the things that were supposed to do." Visha started moving her body around him as Saitou made sure to keep his eyes on her.
"Don't worry Visha, everything is under control, you don't have to…."
"Oh, it's not me that has to worry," Visha cut him off in mid-sentence. "I'm going to be just fine, Basilisk isn't going to sink his teeth into my flesh, or better yet…" Her face was mere inches away from his. "If you're lucky he might ask me to do it, and you know how I can be when I get….in the mood." Visha licked her lips as Saitou quickly backed away from the serpent in human skin.
"Visha, I assure you that everything is going according to plan," Saitou spoke with haste as Visha placed her hands behind her back, clutching one with the other as she got closer to Saitou again. "My brothers and I have everything under control.
"Oh, I believe you Saitou; I really do." She got close enough that her lips were right next to his ear. "I know you're a good boy who does as your told, but there's one thing that's been bothering me." She whispered slowly into his ear. Her breath blew gently into his earlobe as Saitou couldn't help but remain still in her presence. "Why haven't you been picking up the shipment like we asked you to?"
Saitou immediately pulled away from Visha, scared as he was about to prepare himself for the worse, but Visha was too fast for Saitou to get a fix on and she was right up on him once again, leaving Saitou shocked and scared as Visha kept her seductive poker face. "You've been so caught up with your personal business that you must have of forgot what Basilisk wanted you to do." She kept her eyes forward, facing Saitou's brothers as she did.
"Ms. Visha please wait…" Kaitou spoke.
"Yes, we can explain." Maitou stepped in as well.
"Nu, uh, uh, boys; you're going to have to wait your turn," Visha stated as she brought her attention back to Saitou. "So Saitou, do tell me…" Her eyes suddenly narrowed, giving Saitou a vicious glare. "Where in the hell is our shipment?"
The hair on the back of Saitou's neck stood up as he felt Visha staring a hole through him. the pressure from Vsiha's presence mixed with the tension of her tone was more than enough to keep Saitou on edge. Visha..I….I…" Saitou's words were cut short as he felt Visha's fist buried deep in his stomach. Saitou's eyes nearly popped out of his head as he slowly tried to sink to his knees, but Visha held him up with her fist.
"Now, Saitou; I don't want to hear excuses," Visha whispered as Saitou coughed up spit, trying to breathe as he gasped for air. "I just want results, it's simple as that." She slowly peered over to the pain-filled boy resting against her fist. "Now, I've heard you've gotten yourself in a bit of trouble at that academy of yours, now I'm not one for caring for education, but I do always say kids need to read a good book, but that's on your own time…Not when you're fucking with our profits!" Vista quickly spun around and wheeled kicked Saitou in the face, sending him sprawling into the ground towards his brothers.
"Saitou!" The two brothers shouted.
"Don't you two move a muscle!" Visha screamed at them as she walked over to the fallen older brother. Saitou tried to get up on his hands and knees, but he felt a heavy force on the back of his head pushing him back down to the ground, turning his head to the side to see Visha's boot on top of his head as she slowly began to grind it into the dirt.
"Now, Saitou we have another shipment coming, and guess what? It's before that pointless fight you have at that stupid academy." She told him as Saitou's eyes lit up in shock.
"Wha...Wha...How did you…." Saitou struggled to talk.
"Word gets out sweety, there's nothing you can keep from a snake." She let her tongue slip out from her mouth as she finished her sentence. Her yellow eyes narrowed down at her victim as she continued to speak. "Tomorrow night, you are to go to the usual spot, pick up the shipment and bring it to me," She instructed him. "Now, I was kind enough to schedule this little pick-up the night before your special fight, so there should be no excuse." She pressed her boot down a bit more causing Saitou to grunt in pain as she giggled at his painful expense.
"Alright….Alright, I'll pick it up; I promise I'll bring it to you!" Saitou screamed as Visha pressed down on his head a bit more, appearing to be in complete ecstasy as she did.
Saitou could feel his head being pushed further into the ground, the pressure that Visha was putting on his head was immense. His skull felt like it would give away at any moment as Visha continued to push down for sheer enjoyment alone. "Come on Visha, I said I'll bring it to you!" Saitou yelled up at her as Visha slowly stopped her game.
"Yes, I supposed you did," Visha stated, slowly retrieving her foot off of his head. "I think you've had enough," Visha spoke down to him. Now, I've done you a favor and given you another chance." Her eyes remained focused on him, ignoring his brother's presence as she kept her attention based on Saitou. "I'm going to be in this exact spot tomorrow night, I will be waiting for you to do your job and report to me." She told him as she reached down and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, jerking him back up to her face. "And I just want you to know don't keep me waiting, I hate getting stood up!" She forcibly pushed him into the ground towards his brothers, who quickly scrambled to help him up." Now get the hell out of my sight before I get, real...Anxious." Visha licked her lips once again as the Viper Brothers quickly did as she asked and made sure to get far away from Visha as possible, leaving her standing there, looking up at the sky. "Oh my little Garden Snakes, I really don't like punishing you, but the thought of making your head pop is so, exhilarating…." She hissed as she looked back into the direction that the Viper Brothers ran off to. "You better not fail me this time, Saitou." Her tongue stuck out of her mouth again as she slowly walked back into the dense fog that covered the entire park.
