Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

The docks were full of occupants. The gang known as the Poisonous Snakes guarded Visha and her unnamed accomplice standing against Rakaia, Luna, and Cana, along with two members of the police force, Eve and Tsu.

The tension between the groups was thick. The heartbeats that echoed throughout the air could be heard, mixed with the calm ocean water washing against the docks under the moonlit night. Snickers escaped the throats of the gang members as they stood in front of Visha and the unnamed man, creating a wall to stop anyone and anything that would try to get through.

"Well, let's get this over with." The unnamed spoke up. "I do have other clients that are waiting for me." He added as he held his hand over Visha's open palm. "Here you go Visha," He released the bag of substance in her hand. "Fresh off the press," He snickered as Visha gave him a hard glare as she caught the bag in her hand.

"It better be," She replied before her eyes narrowed a bit. "For your sake…" She told him before stuffing the contents into her jacket pocket."

"Visha, I said don't move!" Eve shouted as she held up her gun, aiming at the vice leader of the Poisonous Snakes. "Drop the contents on the ground and surrender!" She added, but Visha gave her a side glance with a slight smirk crossing her lips.

"Or what?" Visha responded. "You're going to use excessive force?" She mocked her. "You blue dogs are all the same, ready to shoot something as soon as someone lets you off your leash." She turned to face her with her gang standing in front of her. "Typical," She shrugged her shoulders as Eve gritted her teeth as her hands began to shake, making it hard for her to hold her aim steady as she tried to look past the thugs that stood in front of her. "If you have the resolve to shoot, then I suggest you do it; if not…Then well you know, the same thing is going to happen like last time." She stated causing Eve's eyes to shoot up in an instant. "You don't want a repeat do you?" She asked her.

Eve's body shook from shock as Eve's words settled in her eyes quickly narrowed in anger as she shook off her uneasiness and aimed her gun without fail. "SCREW YOU!" She shouted as she was about to pull the trigger.

"EVE!" Tsu called her name, breaking Eve's concentration. "Don't let her get in your head; we need to take her down alive." Tsu told her as he quickly placed his hand on the top of her pistol, lowering it a bit." We won't get anywhere if you kill her." He added.

"You're going to actually have to catch me first," Visha spoke up again, catching Tsu's gaze as she continued to smirk at him. "And last time I checked, you aren't trained enough to touch me, but of course, you know that already, don't you?" She told him as he gritted his teeth as well, but showed he had better restraint than his partner.

"Visha…."Tsu bared his teeth as he glared up at her.

"You are pretty popular with the blue dogs I see." The unnamed man that stood next to her spoke. "It's almost like you're a celebrity or something." He added with a slight laugh.

"It's like I told you." Visha continued to look at the two officers that were determined to slap handcuffs on her. "I'm a special person." She ended as the unnamed figure turned his head towards the officers as well.

"Well since this is your show, I'll let you deal with it, I've done my part." He turned his back towards her. "Don't get caught, I don't want Basilisk thinking it's my fault that his favorite pawn screwed up." He snickered as he earned a glare from Visha with the comment that he made. "See you around," He ended off as he took his first few steps away from Visha and away from the commotion. "Maybe," He uttered under his breath.

"Hey!" Tsu shouted, causing the unnamed man to stop for a second. "Where do you think you're going?" He yelled at him causing him to turn his head a bit to slightly look back at him. "I don't believe we said you could just walk away, you're under arrest as well for selling of illegal substance," Tsu told him as the cloaked man continued to look at Tsu for a moment before turning his head back towards his previous destination. "Low-rank dogs have no right to bark." He simply said, stuffing his hands in his pocket, and walked off, leaving a nasty taste in Tsu's mouth.

"Why you?" Tsu suddenly stepped forward. "I said you're not getting away!" Tsu shouted as a few thugs stepped in front of him, gritting his teeth as they smirked at him. "Get out of the way!" Tsu yelled at them, but they remained in front of him.

"I'm sorry, no dogs are allowed past this point." One of the thugs spoke.

"It's time we hang you by your leash anyway." The second thug bashed his fist into his palm for emphasis.

"Is that so?" Tsu replied as he placed his pistol back into his holster. "Let's see if you can stop this dog from biting." He added as he held up his fist, getting into a fighting stance, waiting for his opponents to make a move. "Bring it on, I'm ready for…."

"EEEYAAAAHHH!" The side of Eve's boot crashed into the side of the first thug's face sending him to the ground as she turned around and leaped into the air, smashing her knee into the face of the second thug, knocking him out instantly as she landed on her feet.

"E…Eve, I had them…I…"Tsu was cut off again.

"Don't let him get away!" Eve shouted at him. "I'll take care of them and get Visha, go after him!" She pointed towards the man as he walked away calmly as if nothing was going on behind him.

Tsu quickly nodded his head and continued on his way as Eve tried her best to clear a path for him, but the thugs were relentless. A few managed to bypass Eve and charge towards Tsu, who quickly kneed on in the gut, knocking him to the side with the back of his hand, but was caught in the face with a hard right, but was able to take the blow and return with a punch of his own, staggering the thug causing him to take a few more steps back before Tsu followed up with few more punches, knocking the remaining thug on his back. "Geez, what's with you guys?" Tsu stated as he ducked another incoming blow to the side of his head, grabbing the arm and slinging the user to the ground as well. He gritted his teeth as he looked up to see the man still walking away. "Hey! Stop!" He shouted as he made his way through the opening as Eve was taking care of the leftovers that surrounded them.

Meanwhile, Eve dodged a fist to the face and ducked a kick that was aimed at her head. With her pistol still in hand, she dodged another incoming blow, sidestepping the fist that was aimed at her, and used the butt of the gun to bash it in her aggressor's face a few times, before he dropped to his knees. She grabbed hold of his arm and quickly avoided another blow to her face, by quickly picking him up and using him as a human shield, causing her previous aggressor to take the blows for her before she pushed him onto her new attacker, knocking them off the docks and into the water.

"You'll pay for that!" Another thug screamed as he leaped into the air, clamping both hands together, ready to bash Eve's skull in. Eve didn't look surprised at the massive thug coming down towards her as she quickly pushed herself off of her feet and met the incoming thug with a hard knee to the gut, causing him to cough up spit as she quickly grabbed his face with her hand.

"I'm sorry did you say something?" She asked him as she quickly forced his head backward, slamming him onto the ground. A low groan escaped his lips as Eve kept her eyes on him.

"Well," Visha spoke up followed by the sound of clapping as she walked over toward Eve. "I can honestly say you haven't missed a beat." She stated as she crossed her arms, her eyes remaining on Eve. "But then again, it's not like these guys were any match for you to begin with." She finished as Eve turned her gaze towards her, standing up as her eyes turned into a dark glare.

"Oh don't look at me like that Eve," Visha added as she remained in her spot as Eve turned to face her.

"…Visha…" Eve spoke up. "You have the right to remain silent." She began to read Visha her rights. "Anything you say can and will be used…."

"Are you seriously reading me my rights right now?" Visha began laughing at her, causing Eve's face to grimace a bit. "You really are full of it, you know that Eve?" She regained control of her composure "You out of all people have no right to even recite those words." Her tone slightly darkened as Eve's glare remained as well.

"To even think that you would show your face after what happened back then is comical at best and here you are pretending to be something you're not," Visha spoke down towards her, but Eve didn't back down from Visha's words.

"What happened then was an accident." Eve retaliated as she quickly pointed her gun at Visha. "This time will be different." She assured her as Visha stood in front of her, unnerved by the handgun that was pointing at her.

"So you're going to shoot me now?" Visha asked, a slight laugh escaping her lips. "Would it make you feel better if you did?" She tossed her another question. "Would it make all those bad feelings go away? The hateful realizations of living on as you relive your biggest mistake in your head every day you strap that gun on your waist?" She continued to press.

"Shut up!" Eve replied as her hand began to tremble. "Don't stand there and talk like you didn't have anything to do with it!" She growled at her. "If it wasn't for you, then…"

"Then what?" Visha asked her, crossing her arms. "You wouldn't have pulled the trigger? You would have taken the time to cool off and analyze the situation?" Visha added on.

"Why you little bit…." Eve's words were cut short as she felt a pair of arms wrap around her, encasing her in a strong bear hug; causing her to drop her pistol on the ground as she grunted from the sheer pressure that was applied to her arms and ribs. "Ghaaww…Ahhhh…" She managed to glance behind her to see one of the thugs that she had taken down previously before she began to converse with Visha.

"Distraction…"Visha stated as she walked over to where the gun fell." That's always been your biggest flaw, Eve." She stated as she reached down, picking up the pistol, twirling it around in her hand for a minute, playing with it as she leaned it from one side to the other." You're so one-tracked-minded that you lose focus on what's around you, it's a shame really." She stated as she put the gun up to her face, sticking her tongue out to slowly licking the side of it. "I remember telling you this the last time we met Eve." Visha walked up to Eve as the large thug confined her arms tightly, making it nearly impossible to break free.

She had the gun in her hand as she stopped in front of Visha and the thug that was holding her. "It's not the bite of the snake that kills you," Visha's tongue slipped out of her mouth a bit as she pointed the gun at Eve's face at point-blank range. "It's the poison left behind." She smirked as her finger was ready to pull the trigger.

"This is goodbye Eve," Visha stated as the black pistol was pointed directly in Eve's face as her eyes shot up widely, sweat dripping down her face as she stared into the barrel of the gun. "It's been fu…."

"Put her down!" A voice shouted from behind her, causing Visha to slightly glance behind her to see Cana leaping over her head.

"Huh?" Visha was stunned for a bit, caught off guard at the fact that Cana leaped over her head, but blind to the fact that until the very last minute as Luna rushed her, using her legs to kick her hand away, causing her to drop the gun as Luna quickly performed a 180-degree spin catching Visha in the jaw with top of her foot, knocking the Snake vixen to the ground.

Shocked at the turn of events, the thug's eyes landed on Luna, not paying attention to Cana as her knee drove into his face. The impact itself caused the goon to release Eve as he fell backward Cana landed on top of him as hit the ground with a hard thud. She quickly performed a small rollover as she rolled off of her victim, getting back to her feet as she turned around to look at Eve.

"Hey!" She yelled as she ran towards her. "Are you ok?" She asked her as Eve was trying to catch her breath. Eve, on her hands and knees was trying to gain control over her breathing as Cana knelt down beside her, placing her hands on her shoulder and arm. "Hey, it's alright; you're safe now," Cana told her as Luna remained standing firm with her fist balled up Visha began to get up with no complications, slightly rubbing her jaw as she did.

A slight chuckle escaped her lips as she slowly got back to her feet. "Looks like the rumors about you are true; you have some power behind those legs of yours." Visha pointed out as she stood back up, her eyes focusing on Luna. "So, you want to pick up where we left off?" She asked her as Luna kept her brown coffee eyes on her newfound opponent.

"I thought you'd never ask," Luna replied as the two locked eyes with one another, staring each other down as Visha couldn't help but lick her lips at the thought of fighting Luna. "Hey! What's your problem?" Cana yelled.

"I said get off of me!" Eve pushed her to the side, her eyes glaring at Visha as she got to her feet, storming towards Visha.

"You don't have to be so rude!" Cana yelled after her. "We were trying to help you, you jerk!" She added on as her words went ignored by Eve as she made her way towards Visha.

"Visha! This time you're not getting away!" Eve shouted as she made her way toward the female snake incarnate. "You can either surrender and come quietly, or I can bring you down the hard way," Eve told her causing Eve to chuckle a bit as she placed her hand on her hip, allowing her other arm to rest at her side.

"Trust me," Visha replied to Eve's comment. "I think we're already past that." She stated as her phone began to ring again, catching her immediate attention. "Well, I guess there goes my fun huh?" She shook her head. "He always has such bad timing." She shrugged her shoulders. "Oh well, What can you do? If the boss is calling, then it's time to pack it up. Sorry, we couldn't play a little bit more guys, but maybe next time." She gave them a mixed smirk and smile as Eve gritted her teeth in frustration.

"I'm not letting you leave Visha, You're going with me to answer for everything that you've done." She growled.

"With you, yea; I don't think so." She began patting the left side of her pocket. "I got to drop off the delivery that you so graciously failed at stopping me from getting." She smirked at her as Eve balled up her fist and charged at her.

"Visha!" Eve screamed as she made a beeline toward her target, who just stood there smirking at her.

"Too easy...." Words left her mouth as Eve got within range of grabbing Visha's jacket, with her arm outstretched.

"I got you..." Eve's voice was full of confidence, but her eyes shot up when she felt a forced ram into her from the side, sending her sprawling into the ground, almost sending her over the docks and into the water.

"Wha...What was that?" Eve managed to look up from her position to see Saitou standing in front of Visha, with his brothers rushing towards her.

"Sorry Eve, but this is where you...Take a dive." She told her as she turned her back towards her, walking off from the battlefield.

Eve gritted her teeth as she managed to recover, getting to her feet before the two boys closed in on her.

"Oh, before I forget...Saitou," Visha stopped as she turned her head to glance back at her subordinate, catching his attention. "Drown her..." She smirked at him as Saitou gave her an unsure look in return, but didn't question her instructions.

The two stared at each other for a few seconds as if their looks alone were all they needed Visha gave Saitou a satisfied smile before turning her head again and resuming her walk out of the docks.

Saitou's brothers, Kaitou and Maitou charged at Eve, who could only grit her teeth as she tried to ready herself for the oncoming assault.

The two got within range of Eve, a step away from beginning their assault on the downed officer. "Hey, don't forget about us!" Cana shouted as she quickly slid in front of Eve and Kaitou, catching him off guard as she quickly performed a backflip kick, her foot barely missing his chin, causing him to jump back away from her.

Maitou quickly caught on to what was going on but didn't take in the fact that Luna was running beside him. "Right beside you." She called out to him as Maitou quickly turned his head to see the top of Luna's foot collided with his face, sending him to the ground next to Kaitou, who stood in front of Saitou.

"What...What are you kids doing?" Eve's voice was full of annoyance as she managed to stand up. "This doesn't have anything to do with you, you're interfering with police business." She grunted a bit as Cana gave her a slightly annoyed look.

"What we are doing, is saving your butt. In case you didn't hear what you're green-haired lady friend said back there, she wanted to make sure you take a permanent swim. So you should really be thanking us, for even stepping in." Cana told her.

"Hmph," Eve replied automatically. "I don't need any help some little kids, you should go home before you get hurt." She retorted.

"Hurt, like you?" Cana shot back, earning a glare from Eve as well.

"We don't have time to argue back and forth guys," Luna told them as Saitou walked up along with his two brothers. "We still got these guys to deal with," Luna stated as the three stood there for a moment staring down the women in front of them.

"You two just keep showing up and getting in my way." Saitou stated calmly, "No matter what I do, you always show up only to repeat the same beating every time." He added.

"Wow someone is full of themselves," Cana replied. "And to think we came to say "hi" just before your big match with Rakaia." She added as she balled up her fist, glaring at the three Viper Brothers.

Saitou growled a bit as he looked at his brother Kaitou, who quickly nodded his head and began running towards Cana, who prepared herself, but as soon as Kaitou got within range of her a large thug came crashing into Kaitou, knocking him off the docks and into the water.

"What the...." Cana spoke as not only her but Luna, Eve and even the remaining two of the Viper Brothers turned their head to see Rakaia pushing another thug off of him as he turned his sights to Saitou.

"You didn't forget I was here did you?" He asked him as he kept his eyes locked on Saitou. "If you don't remember, allow me to remind you. I told you I was going to make sure that you were going to make it to our match in a few days, I don't need you trying to get out of beating by trying to get arrested." Rakaia told him as Saitou continued to growl under his breath as he glared at his future opponent.

"You're really starting to get on my nerves runt." Saitou begins to speak. "This had nothing to do with you, but yet here you are; getting in the way all for some stupid match!" Saitou growled. "And on top of that, you side with the blue dogs, that's going to add to your beating, you know that right?" Saitou clarified as Rakaia just kept their eyes on him.

"This has nothing to do with them, and believe me I rather stay away from the police if I can," Rakaia assured him. "But I'm just here to make sure that something doesn't happen to you," Rakaia told him. "You're not skipping out on our fight, I'm here to make sure of that," Rakaia added.

"Skip out?" Saitou repeated. "Oh no runt, we're going to settle this here and now!" Saitou lunged at Rakaia and delivered a hard punch to Rakaia, but he quickly took a step back out of Saitou's range, who continued to swing and aim at Rakaia's head, who dodged and sidestepped, finally ducking and responding with a hard tackle, managing to knock Saitou off his feet as the two rolled away from the people that were viewing them

"Saitou!" Maitou shouted as he watched the scene unfold in front of them.

"Hey pay attention!" Cana quickly charged at Maitou, catching him off guard, quickly performing a front roll, coming up as soon as she got in range and caught Maitou in the face with a hard punch, that sent him staggering back into a wall. " Don't think I'm going to forget about what happened at school." She told him as she kept her fist balled up. "Let's see if you can do it again, this time without your brother." She stood confidently in front of the larger teen, who held his face but grunted in sheer frustration as he glared at her.

Cana could only smirk as she ushered him to charge at her. "Come on big boy, come to mama." She told him as Maitou pushed himself off the wall and lifted his arms up, getting ready to square off against Cana.

While Rakaia was dealing with Saitou and Cana stepped in to occupy Maitou's attention, Eve quickly looked over to catch a quick glimpse of Visha leaving. Gritting her teeth, she quickly darted off in the direction that Visha departed in. Luna, realizing this, didn't even think twice before she ran after her.

Still walking, unaware that Eve and Luna were pursuing her, Visha kept a leisurely stroll, laughing as she reared her head back at how easy it was to get away from the cops once again. "Oh man, I swear they get stupider every time I meet them." She pulled out the contents from her jacket pocket and began to lightly toss it up, catching it back in her right hand. "Boy is Basilisk going to kick out this, especially when I tell him what happened." She ended.

"VISHA!" Eve shouted from behind her, causing Visha to quickly turn her head in Eve's direction.

"Shit, seriously!" Visha quickly stuffed the contents back into her pocket and began making a run for it. "What the hell man! I thought I told those useless bastards to take care of you!" Visha shouted as she ran towards a few trash cans, kicking them over in hopes of either stopping or slowing down Eve, unaware that Luna was following them as well.

'You're going to have to do better than that if you want to get rid of me!" Eve shouted from behind her as she dodged the oncoming debris, along with Luna who kept silent the whole time.

Visha couldn't help but grit her teeth as she turned the corner of a nearby warehouse building, only to come to a screeching halt as she was stopped in her tracks by another officer.

"I think that's far enough." Ikari quickly got into her fighting stance, palms open as she prepared herself.

"...Dammit..." Visha cursed as she turned around in time to see not only Eve but Luna arriving as well.

"It's over Visha," Eve stated taking a few steps toward her. "I'm taking you down to the station where you're going to be locked up for a long time." She told her.

"You mean, where I can sit down and watch that hideous mug of yours I don't think so." Visha turned towards her. "If anything, don't you think that it's you who needs to be behind bars?" Visha asked her. "After all you never did answer for..."

"That's enough!" Eve shouted at her. "That was the past, here and now you're going down for multiple charges, so I suggest that you just surrender now unless you want to add more to the record," Eve assured her, but Visha just looked at her for a moment and gave a small chuckle.

"Really now, so that's how it is huh?" She made sure the contents were safely in her pocket as she looked over at Eve, then her eyes slightly diverted to Luna. "I see you even got the infamous XMA fighter with you." She snickered as she glanced behind her, catching Ikari in her sight. "And a rookie officer. " She slowly slid her feet apart a bit and prepared herself by getting into a fighting stance, similar to that of the snake. "If you want to catch me, you're going to have to beat me." She ended as her three opponents got into their own respective fighting stances as well, eying one another as Luna, Eve and Ikari were about to face off against the deadly female snake, Visha.

Meanwhile

Tsu ran as fast as he could, but he completely lost track of the unnamed man that he was chasing. He stopped and looked around only to find himself back in the city where a few civilians occupied the street. He grunted a bit as he turned his head from left to right, but was unable to catch sight of his target. "Dammit, where did he run off to?" He questioned to himself. "He couldn't have gone far." He added as he continued to look around for the mysterious person, but was unable to find a clue as to where he had disappeared off to.

"Damn, how did I lose him. I was right...."Tsu was cut off as his phone began to go off, he quickly reached for it. Checking it to see that he had a message from an unknown number. " What the...." He quickly swiped his thumb over the notification, causing the message to pop up on his phone.

His eyes quickly shot open when he saw the message. "But that's impossible...But how?" Tsu couldn't believe his eyes when the message was a clear picture of him looking at his phone, with a caption under it that read three simple words. "Low-rank dog." Tsu quickly took his eyes off the phone, whirling around to try and spot his quarry. "Where are you?" He shouted as he moved his head from left to right. "I know you're here somewhere! Come out and show yourself!" He added, but all he got was silence and blank stares as the few people that walked the streets stopped and looked at him like he was a madman.

Tsu couldn't help but grit his teeth as he looked down at the phone again, his eyes scanning the message once more as he glared at the screen.
