Chapter 3 - Mount East

Keir and Mira are now walking on a stone road filled with crowds of people and wagons filled with different materials. There were all sorts of things, some had potions, while others had home decorations and weapons.

The weather had improved, and it was now sunny, with clouds covering the sun in intervals of time.

They two were walking towards a guild recommended to him by his family and Keeth.

They walked, knowing nothing about Yiling, and with only the help of strangers could they reach the guild named "Mount East".

It was a huge green building with complicated pillars supporting the roofs and floors above. People entered and left the building through an enormous door in the middle.

Keir and Mira entered the building and stood in front of an empty corner where a lady sat. She wore formal clothes and wore a badge where her name and her position was written on it.

She was the receptionist.

The floor was filled with people talking and eating.

Most of them wore heavy armor, and some were covered in blood from their previous missions

The two stood in front of her, and she greeted the two.

"Good Afternoon, how may I help you?"

"We would like to enroll"

Keir replied.

She gently handed them two forms and pens.

"Please enter the required information,"

she said with a formal voice.

"Keeth Rose, the traveling merchant."

Mira replied.

The receptionist nodded and handed them a bronze token and another piece of paper each

"Alright, here are the tokens, and here are the rules you must follow. It will be fine if you only read the basic rules."

The receptionist said with a cheery tone

*BASIC RULES*

-Rank-D and lower must be in a group of four to go on a mission.

-One must go on a mission at their own risk. The guild won't be responsible for the death of one.

END

They both read the rules.

The two grabbed two seats and started discussing about what to do from there on.

A maid roaming around cleaning the mess left by people overheard the two and called a man dressed in black and white formal who works for the guild and told them that the guild provides lodgings to its members and is considerably less expensive than the private ones.

They both agreed and the man escorted the two to different rooms. They paid the expense and dropped off their baggage in their rooms and left to find a party for a mission.

Keir found a party looking for more members on an E-rank mission. They joined the party, and the party explained the mission they chose, when they would start, and where they would be meeting.

The party comprised 4 people including Keir and Mira.

They both returned to their rooms after arranging a party to prepare.

Keir opened his bag and sorted out all the few things he brought on the bed which was, a set of clothes, potions of healing, a potion of stamina recovery and a potion of power boost, an unknown box, a few plates of armor and his sword, it was a plain sword with a curved cross-guard and in his pocket were his coins.

Keir wore his plate of armor, two on his shoulder, a broad plate on his chest and back, and two small ones on his knee. They were shiny metal plates with extensions of leather.

He grabbed one healing, one stamina boosting potion and tied his scabbard containing his sword to his waist. He was ready.

Keir heard a knock on his door. It was Mira. Keir opened the door and saw Mira hadn't changed at all. When he asked why she has prepared nothing, she replied she didn't have any equipment and has to buy them.

The two met up with the party and explained the situation and the other two agreed to help show them where to buy decent items.

The other two were around Mira and Keir's age. One's name was Raj. His skin was red-ish and he was tall, and Raj had a cheery vibe to him. His dark complexion gave him a unique aura because of his long black hair and loose white clothing. He had a bow around him and a lot of arrows in a stylish silver quiver, and the other's name was Jin. He had fair skin, and he wore long blue clothes along with a Katana tied to his waist. There was a calm and cold expression in his blue eyes.

They bought a few potions from a merchant.

Raj and Jin led them to a fancy-looking weaponry shop where Mira chose a spear, which she said that she learned as she traveled with her father. The shopkeeper brought out different spears and measure them according to Mira's height. While Keir was walking around the shop, he accidentally bumped into a man.

Keir apologized, and the man didn't mind, but he noticed the sword Keir was carrying.

"That sword! Can I see it?"

The man asked suddenly.

Keir unsheathed the sword and showed it to the man, but from his hand, Keir didn't have any wish to hand it to him.

"I-It is a magnificent sword! Who forged it?"

The man said with arched eyebrows and gleaming eyes. He was very amazed to see the sword.

"I did. My father helped me as well."

Keir replied with a fake smile. It amazed the man to see that the sword was because that sword was fused with Qi. It was a Blessed Item. Keir doesn't know how to use Qi. No one does when they leave for their journey, but his father does.

"Impressive. Very impressive."
